She Rebuilt Her Fallen Country With Storage Space-Chapter 20 - More Terrifying than a Wolf, It’s a Hungry Wolf in Lust
Chapter 20: Chapter 20 More Terrifying than a Wolf, It's a Hungry Wolf in Lust
Scar face waved his hand dismissively.
His gaze swept sternly across the convicts being escorted, all present.
Only then did he drop a sentence: "Find a few more people to help us wash clothes, I need them quick and diligent."
Xiang Qianqian summoned a smile: "No problem, leave this task to me to arrange."
The Military Supervisor turned and left, and the surrounding women all crowded around Xiang Qianqian.
They bombarded her with questions, asking how she had managed to curry favor with the team leader.
After listening for a while, Xiang Ying also understood.
Xiang Qianqian, along with a few concubines and palace maids, took the initiative to cook for the team leader and a group of soldiers.
In exchange, she secured steamed buns and pickles, and also the pig bones left over from the Nanyue soldiers' soup.
The starving exiled ladies, having not eaten for several days, eyed the food brought by Xiang Qianqian with hunger-flamed eyes.
They gathered around Xiang Qianqian, showering her with flattery and desperate to please, all for half a steamed bun.
Xiang Qianqian spoke with some pride: "Don't crowd, those willing to follow me, I will naturally keep your bellies full."
"I won't be like some people who, upon getting something good to eat, only think of themselves."
"But you must listen to me, follow my commands and orders, or else you'll have nothing to eat."
In an instant, voices of agreement flanked her side, each eager to show loyalty.

But there were those who ignored her, among them the Seventh Princess and Yu Pin.
Xiang Qianqian distributed the steamed buns, deliberately leaving half, and walked to the Seventh Princess: "Little sister Seven, why do you still refuse to talk to me? Do you want to keep starving?"
The Seventh Princess, sitting on a rock with her legs tucked due to hunger, would rather clutch her stomach than accept Xiang Qianqian's offer.
"Thank you, Fifth Sister, but I cannot accept your kindness!"
Xiang Qianqian's expression changed, and she huffed: "Then starve, you deserve it. Look at you these past days, groveling to her, and she hasn't given you anything to eat."
"I really don't understand why you are snubbing me. I have been much better to you than she has been! If you don't want it, then forget it. I won't bother with you anymore. Even if I were to raise a dog, if treated well, it would still know to wag its tail."
The Seventh Princess, angered by her humiliating words, stood up fiercely.
"Previously you said that the elder princess demeaned herself by exchanging charm for food, lacking dignity and backbone, what about you now?"
"You are pulling everyone to cook and clean for the Nanyue soldiers, Xiang Qianqian, you were once a princess of a nation, and now you stoop so low."
"Where is the dignity and backbone you so often tout? Could it be you only demand it of others, but fail to uphold it yourself?"
Xiang Qianqian, stunned by her words, retorted stiffly: "I... What's there to argue about with me? In our current situation, do we have a choice?"
"Besides, someone set a bad precedent. Without bribing the team leader, we get nothing to eat. I'm just trying to make things better for everyone. What did I do wrong?"
Xiang Qianqian started to cry, tears wiping her eyes, feeling aggrieved.
She turned away, angrily declaring: "Fine! From now on, I won't bother with anything, I won't help figure out how to fill our stomachs. Let's all starve together!"
The women who had just received steamed buns spoke out to comfort her —
"Fifth Princess, you mean well, don't mind what others say!"
"Yes, what does backbone matter? Our nation is gone, Fifth Princess is only thinking of our well-being."
"The Seventh Princess is too unreasonable, not helping to share the burden, yet she reproaches the Fifth Princess?"
Some even began to rally around the Fifth Princess as their backbone.
"From now on, we'll all follow the Fifth Princess' orders, whatever you say goes."
"That's right, listening to the Fifth Princess, as long as we have a bite to eat, we can survive!"
The Seventh Princess was left speechless by their anger.
Yu Pin took the Seventh Princess aside, whispering: "Don't stoop to her level, this group is foolish, they'll be led to their graves by the Fifth Princess and still count it as favor."
Xiang Ying's family watched coldly from a distance.
Xiang Li actually wanted to say a few words of justice, but Xiang Ying sealed his mouth with a bunch of herbs.
Struggling to swallow, he frowned from the bitterness.
"When did you gather these herbs?"
"Just now when I was strolling around the forest," Xiang Ying made up an excuse on the spot.
After the sunset, dusk gave way to evening.
Those women who spoke of supporting Xiang Qianqian had distinctly set boundaries between themselves, Xiang Ying, and the rest.
They surrounded the only bonfire, allowing only their own to sit by the fire.
A group of people, having filled their bellies, chatted and laughed away.
Xiang Qianqian was among them, wearing a white dress, sitting on a stone and tidying her hair with her hands.
Her demeanor was still somewhat like that of a little Princess.
She occasionally glanced at Xiang Ying, then averted her gaze and let out a soft, cold snort.
Since the Military Supervisor and his men were resting inside the station, the prisoners they escorted could only sleep on the ground.
The night was hot, and fearing that Xiang Li's back would develop sores, Xiang Ying spread a bear skin on the ground for the children to sleep on.
Unexpectedly, Xiang Yuanshuo mischievously climbed up onto the wooden cart, his little red mouth muttering coquettishly.
"Uncle, I want to sleep with you and listen to your stories."
Xiang Li, with his arm's wound being pressed, instead of crying out in pain, stretched his brows and laughed softly.
"Alright, Yuanxiao, you lie down."
Xiang Ying picked up Xiang Yuanshuo with one hand.
"You're chubby now, just like a meatball, don't squeeze your uncle!"
If Xiang Li's wound got squeezed to the point of bursting and festering, Xiang Ying would have a headache.
Xiang Yuanshuo flailed his little legs: "Bad guy, let me go, I want my uncle, you can't tell stories."
"I can," Xiang Ying put him down on the bear skin, "I can tell the story of The Boy Who Cried Wolf."
Immediately, three little ones' eyes lit up, huddling together and listening obediently to Xiang Ying's story of The Boy Who Cried Wolf.
At the end of the story, as the wolf ate the child, Xiang Xiuxiu screamed in terror, her little hands covering her face.
"Mommy, stop, I'm scared!"
Xiang Ying started to laugh: "What's there to be afraid of, your mommy is here."
Xiang Yuanshuo huffed: "Exactly, there's nothing to be scared of. She's scarier than a wolf, and she's a lustful, starving wolf to boot."
Tao Xue couldn't help but laugh out loud: "Previously, when the Imperial Censor accused the elder Princess of being a lustful woman, and she hung him up for a beating, you still remember that, little Your Highness?"
After she said this, she noticed Xiang Ying's face darken.
Tao Xue scrambled to make amends: "Little Your Highness shouldn't say such things; the elder Princess was wronged by those stinking Imperial Censors."
Xiang Ying snorted coldly: "I won't let you off!"
She pounced, tickling Tao Xue and Xiang Yuanshuo mercilessly.
Tao Xue was ticklish and after just a few scratches fell to the ground begging for mercy.
Xiang Yuanshuo, with a cry, jumped up and ran around the wooden cart.
"Uncle, save me!"
"No one can save you now!" Xiang Ying chased relentlessly.
Xiang Li watched them getting along harmoniously, his light eyes brimming with a gentle smile.
The three children had grown even closer to her.
Just then, a sharp scream from Yu Pin came from nearby—
"Fifth Princess! What's wrong with you, Fifth Princess! Something is wrong, the Seventh Princess is having convulsions!"
