Shattered by Fate, Restored by Truth-Chapter 351: Your Dad is Ultimately Still Your Dad
Chapter 351: Chapter 351: Your Dad is Ultimately Still Your Dad
Su Wanxin got up at his reminder, went to the bathroom to remove her makeup and take a shower. When she came back, Fu Shihan had already washed up and was in bed in another room.
Su Wanxin lay down beside the bed, and he immediately stretched out his hand to pull her close.
Su Wanxin pushed away his teasing hand and said lightly, "It’s time to sleep."
Usually, Su Wanxin would have fallen asleep quickly tonight, especially since she had her medication by her side.
But the truth was, even with her eyes closed, she couldn’t feel sleepy at all. She barely managed to sleep a little by dawn, only to be awakened by a nightmare.
In the early morning, she got up as if nothing was wrong, and apart from the faint dark circles under her eyes, she looked in good shape, with no flaws visible.
Before leaving for work, they talked for a while, and then Su Wanxin walked to the company.
Meetings, monitoring the market, analyzing data, a busy morning passed, and during lunch break, Lin Rui called her to say her car was fixed and parked outside the company.
Su Wanxin remembered what Fu Shihan had said last night and asked with concern, "Where is Su Qiang now?"
Lin Rui was taken aback by the question, unsure if he should disclose the information, and tried to dodge the question awkwardly.
"Don’t make too big a deal out of it," she softly advised. "Su Qiang has no other skills, but he’s good at playing the rogue."
"Hey, don’t worry, I know my limits!"
Su Wanxin frowned slightly. His declaration made her curious about what he considered ’limits’.
After hanging up, Lin Rui joyfully went to handle other matters. But no sooner had he reassured Su Wanxin than he was metaphorically slapped in the face.
Su Wanxin hadn’t been in the headlines for a while now; recently, the news was almost all about the unfortunate Shen Family ST.
So when she saw her name boldly emphasized by unscrupulous media in the headline "Su Wanxin’s Family Background Exposed," she felt an odd sense of pride.
The news notification popped up directly on her phone, and nearly everyone else saw it at the same time.
In the restaurant, Su Wanxin was having lunch with Chen Lei and a few colleagues. She glanced at the news content and chuckled lightly amidst the worried or dubious looks from others.
"What are you laughing at?" Chen Lei sat across from her, frowning deeply. "Which irresponsible media is causing trouble again, not wanting to survive in this industry anymore?"
"How does that saying go?" Su Wanxin thought for a moment. "Your dad will always be your dad. Look~ Daddy’s in the headlines again."
Chen Lei: ...
That sounds a bit odd, doesn’t it?
He inexplicably felt taken advantage of, yet he couldn’t pinpoint any solid evidence.
Su Wanxin was already adept at self-deprecation, making a joke out of herself, letting others see it all as just a laugh, and that was that.
However, some were still curious.
The news mentioned that Su Wanxin’s parents used to sell fruits from a cart. They died in a car accident when she was three, and she was adopted by a wealthy family at seven.
Most importantly, it claimed that recently, her desperate relatives came to Di City seeking her help, but she heartlessly turned them away and had them beaten to near death.
In such a harmonious society today, how could such discord occur? Just refuse to lend money if you must, but why beat someone?
