Shadows of the Deep Space-Chapter 1528 - 509: Clues (Part 6)
Just as Xia Lan was about to say something, a man wearing the fourth generation Exoskeleton Armor, with a hooked nose and a cold gaze, approached and respectfully said to Vivian.
"Miss, we’ve found the person you asked us to investigate."
"Good job, A-Gui."
Vivian nodded with satisfaction.
Upon hearing this, Xia Lan, overwhelmed with emotion, reached out and grasped Vivian’s hand, pleading.
"Seventh sister, could you give me this chance? Please, I’m really fond of Su Ming. I don’t fancy any of those arranged dates, please help me!"
Vivian sighed as she stared at her always valiant and carefree sixth sister, now so uncharacteristically flustered.
"Sixth sister, do you really want to do this?"
"Yes, even if I fail, I must give it my all."
Xia Lan said with determination.
"Alright then, I’ll help you this time, come with me!"
Vivian took Xia Lan by the hand and led her towards her room.
In no time, Xia Lan found herself in Vivian’s room.
"Sit down!"
Vivian positioned Xia Lan in front of the dressing table.
Then she took a lace blouse and a black-gray short skirt from the wardrobe, along with a pair of shiny stockings and light blue high heels, handing them to Xia Lan.
"Put them on!"
"Oh!"
Xia Lan replied somewhat awkwardly.
"Trust me!"
Vivian said to Xia Lan.
"Okay!"
Following Vivian’s words, Xia Lan changed her clothes, putting on the shiny stockings and high heels.
Suddenly, Xia Lan’s long legs became extremely smooth and radiant!
Then Vivian picked up fake long hair and placed it on Xia Lan, opening her makeup box, and attentively applying makeup to Xia Lan with an eyebrow pencil.
After half an hour, Vivian finished the makeup and said with great satisfaction.
"Not bad at all, you’ve really become a beauty."
When Xia Lan heard Vivian’s words, she curiously looked at herself in the mirror, momentarily transfixed.
Her reflection looked like a different person, with softened features, and long, flowing hair cascading over her shoulders like a lady.
In fact, Xia Lan was already quite attractive, but her personality and habits had made her gravitate towards another style.
"Is this okay?"
Xia Lan asked a bit uncertainly.
"Don’t worry, it will definitely work!"
"So, should I go find Su Ming now?"
"Go ahead, I’ve given you this precious opportunity, so if you fail, you can’t blame me."
Vivian smiled at Xia Lan.
"Okay!"
Xia Lan nodded heavily.

A long time later.
Xia Lan approached the Dragon Family estate, only to be stopped by a patrolling soldier as soon as she got near.
"Miss, who are you looking for? This is a private property."
The guard captain asked coldly.
"I’m here to see Mr. Su Ming.."
Xia Lan politely said to the captain of the guard.
"Sorry, Mr. Su Ming is not seeing anyone, please leave!"
The captain rejected her outright without a second thought.
Xia Lan’s anger surged to her head; she never expected to be stopped outside the door. But she quickly composed herself, whispering to herself repeatedly.
"I mustn’t get angry, image! Image!"
Xia Lan took a few deep breaths to suppress her anger, then raised her wristband to type out a message and sent it out.
About ten minutes later.
The gate to the estate opened, and Su Ming walked out.
"Su Ming."
Xia Lan called out joyfully.
Su Ming turned and looked at Xia Lan, completely taken aback, and said in shock.
"Xia Lan, you...."
"What? Not pretty?"
Xia Lan controlled her tone, speaking as softly as she could.
Su Ming felt very awkward but didn’t dare to say so, and could only reply awkwardly,
"No, you look quite pretty!"
"Really?"
Xia Lan replied jubilantly.
"Uh, so what brings you here?"
Su Ming coughed, changing the topic.
"Here’s the thing, didn’t you ask me to investigate the person impersonating you? I found where he’s hiding."
Xia Lan said to Su Ming.
"That quickly?"
Su Ming was astonished at Xia Lan’s efficiency.
"Well, I was worried you’d be anxious."
Xia Lan replied with a slight blush on her cheeks.
"Thank you so much, could you take me to find him?"
Su Ming expressed his gratitude.
"No problem, follow me!"
Xia Lan replied joyfully.
"Okay!"
Su Ming then left with Xia Lan.
...
Over an hour later, Xia Lan led Su Ming to a residential area in Saint Joex.
The buildings in this area were relatively dense.
Xia Lan introduced to Su Ming.
"This area is home to some itinerant merchants, a place with a mix of good and bad elements."
"Mm!"
Su Ming nodded slightly.
"That person is hiding in that house."
Xia Lan pointed to a two-story house with a courtyard, surrounded by walls—one of the better houses around.
"Thank you."
Su Ming said, preparing to go up.
"I’ll go with you."
Xia Lan said as she was about to follow.
Seeing this, Su Ming quickly reached out to stop her, gently saying.
"Thank you, Miss Xia Lan, but I’ll handle this myself. You wait outside. This could be dangerous; if I’m too occupied to look after you and you get hurt, that would be troublesome."
"Okay, if there’s danger, you can notify me immediately."
Xia Lan bit her lip lightly in response.
"Mm!"
Su Ming nodded and then approached the house’s walls.
At this moment, Celeste’s voice sounded in Su Ming’s ear.
"I’ve scanned, no traps, and I’ve disabled the surveillance. You can climb in."
"Mm!"
Su Ming leaped and adroitly jumped into the courtyard.
The whole courtyard was silent, and Su Ming walked to the door, finding it ajar and pushed it open.
The ground-floor hall was empty, with no sign of anyone.
Su Ming quickly searched and headed upstairs.
He soon arrived on the second floor, where there were five rooms.
Celeste scanned carefully and spoke to Su Ming.
"No hidden passages or people!"
"They probably went out."
Su Ming calmly walked to the main room door, turned the doorknob to enter, and closed the door behind him.
It was an office, with a stack of documents on the desk.
Su Ming casually picked up the top file and glanced at it, his jaw twitching.
This file contained detailed information about his identity, family background, hobbies, etc.
It was quite comprehensive.
Suddenly, Su Ming heard a faint movement outside.
Celeste immediately said.
"Someone’s here, but unfortunately, it’s not the imposter pretending to be you."
"Mm!"
Su Ming nodded slightly, then hid by the door.
Unexpectedly, the footsteps approached, heading toward the office where Su Ming was.
Su Ming’s eyes squinted, deciding to act and gather information.
Cre-eak!
The office door opened.
A slightly short, dark-skinned young man walked in, instinctively turning his head to meet Su Ming’s gaze.
"Ah!"
The young man was scared half to death.
As Su Ming was about to grab him, the young man cursed.
"Su Ming, are you trying to scare me to death?"
Su Ming paused slightly, then his eyes rolled as he said.
"You’re the one scaring me, right?"
"Fine, I’m too lazy to argue. Why aren’t you at the meeting yet? I thought you’d already gone."
"Just about to go."
"Then let’s go together."
The young man said to Su Ming.
"Alright!"
Su Ming replied calmly.
"Let’s go."
The young man then led Su Ming downstairs.
Su Ming discreetly pressed his wristband, sending a message to Xia Lan, asking her to follow them secretly.
At this moment, the young man glanced at Su Ming and curiously asked.
"Su Ming, when did you get that outfit? It looks pretty good."
"Bought it long ago, just never wore it."
"Heh, which rich lady bought it for you?"
"Get lost!"
Su Ming responded irritably.
