Secretly Married to the Ice-Cold CEO-Chapter 127 Romantic Dinner
Chapter 127: Chapter 127 Romantic Dinner
Gu Yikun took An Junxi to a nice Chinese restaurant. He originally wanted to eat Western food, but An Junxi chose Chinese cuisine, so Gu Yikun followed her lead.
Strictly speaking, this was their first time eating out alone.
An Junxi preferred not to sit in private rooms when eating. She chose a seat by the window, where one could see the dazzling neon lights and traffic outside, full of the vitality of life.
As soon as they sat down, Gu Yikun’s phone rang. He saw that the call was from overseas. He said to An Junxi, "You order first, I’ll take this call outside."
"Okay," she replied.
Gu Yikun left, and An Junxi selected three dishes. As she was considering which soup to choose, someone walked over, casting a shadow on her table.
Without looking up, she said, "You’re back, have a seat."
The person didn’t sit down. He called her, "Xiao Jun."
An Junxi paused, lifting her eyes, "Senior?"
Gong Tianfan stared at her in a daze. Her face appeared serene and gentle under the warm light, her eyes clear and spirited, making him never get enough of looking at her. Those eyes used to be fixed on him, but he had missed out forever.
He asked, "May I sit down?"
An Junxi looked around; there weren’t many people, and many empty tables nearby. She said, "I came with my boyfriend; it might not be convenient."
Gong Tianfan’s eyes darkened, "I’ve eaten upstairs with colleagues. I happened to see you and just wanted to say hello."
After finishing, he added, "Your boyfriend is President Gu, right? Is he good to you?"
An Junxi nodded, "He’s very good to me. How have you been recently?" Seeing her senior look exhausted, she guessed he must have been troubled lately.
Gong Tianfan said, "Mengya has been taking medication to control her emotions, so the house isn’t as noisy anymore."
"Are Uncle Gong and Aunt Gong well?" Her senior’s parents were very kind to her before. If it weren’t for worrying about He Mengya, An Junxi would really want to visit them.
"My parents are in good health."
"Then please send them my regards when you go back."
Gong Tianfan’s eyes were filled with emotion. Xiao Jun was always so sensible, considerate, and generous. If he had had some perseverance back then, he wouldn’t have been defeated by He Mengya... He sighed deeply, saying, "Xiao Jun, I hope you find happiness."
A deep male voice came from behind him, "She will be happy."
Gong Tianfan turned around to find Gu Yikun standing behind him, looking at him with a cold expression.
Gu Yikun’s tall and handsome appearance made Gong Tianfan feel lacking in confidence. He greeted him uneasily, "President Gu."
Gu Yikun extended his hand towards him, "Mr. Gong, before I met Xi Xi, thank you and your family for taking such good care of her. From now on, I will be taking care of her."
Gong Tianfan shook his hand, "She is a good girl. I hope President Gu treats her well."
"Of course," Gu Yikun replied.
Gong Tianfan hastily bid farewell to the two, leaving quickly.
An Junxi watched her senior’s departing figure, feeling a bit melancholic. There were so many things time could change.
Gu Yikun sat opposite her, tapping the table with his phone, "An Junxi, have you seen enough?"
Whenever Gu Yikun called her by her full name, he was definitely unhappy.
An Junxi withdrew her gaze, awkwardly pushing the menu towards him, "Do these dishes look okay?"
Gu Yikun did not look at the menu, his voice sounding annoyed, "That guy seems pretty infatuated with you."
An Junxi handed the menu to the waiter, poured some tea for him, and said, "Senior is already married."
Gu Yikun said, "You are also married."
"That’s right, so why are you bothered?"
Gu Yikun’s face remained sour, a look of stubbornness and unwillingness to accept explanations.
Seeing that he was genuinely angry, An Junxi said playfully, "Today it evens out; didn’t you also meet Lv Jing?"
Gu Yikun’s attitude remained unsoftened.
An Junxi poured tea for herself, accidentally scalding her finger. She sucked in a breath, blowing on her finger, "It hurts!"
Gu Yikun’s expression changed, and he moved over to sit next to her, "Let me see."
An Junxi scooted further inside, turning her head to look out the window, "I don’t need you to care."
Gu Yikun was anxious, holding her shoulder gently, "Don’t be mad. It’s my fault. Let me see if you’re burnt."
An Junxi lowered her head, her shoulders trembling slightly.
Gu Yikun felt heartbroken, saying, "Don’t cry. I’ll ask the waiter for some ointment for burns."
An Junxi grabbed his hand, slowly raising her head, revealing that she was secretly laughing.
Gu Yikun relaxed, pinching her cheek lovingly but with a hint of exasperation, "You tricked me?"
An Junxi leaned against his shoulder, then sat up properly, thinking of the public setting, "Who told you to ignore me."
Gu Yikun was helpless against her, "But you shouldn’t joke about such things. What if you really got burned?"
An Junxi playfully stuck out her tongue.
The waiter started serving the dishes. An Junxi chose three dishes and a soup, and the aroma was very enticing. She was genuinely hungry.
Gu Yikun served her throughout the meal, deboning the fish, peeling and removing bones from the chicken, stacking her bowl full of food.
An Junxi said, "You should eat too."
He occasionally took a few bites, and the items An Junxi didn’t like ended up in his bowl.
Feeling a bit guilty, An Junxi said, "At home, you can’t treat me this well. The elders will think I’m spoiled."
Gu Yikun said, "I pamper my own wife. Family won’t have any complaints."
An Junxi was deeply touched, calling him, "Husband."
Gu Yikun felt a flutter in his heart when she called him that, leaning over to give her a kiss, "Good girl."
Their meal ended amidst their sweet interactions. As they paid and left the restaurant, An Junxi received a large bouquet of roses.
A bit bewildered, she heard the delivery guy say, "These are ninety-nine red roses ordered by Mr. Gu. Miss An, please sign here."
Gu Yikun took the flowers, presenting them to her with a smile in his eyes, asking, "Do you like them?"
He had booked an entire Western restaurant, arranged even a violinist, but she preferred Chinese cuisine, so he had to change the venue last minute, and the flowers were delivered here.
After the delivery guy left, An Junxi’s eyes welled up a bit, "Yi Ke, did you prepare this earlier?"
Gu Yikun said, "When taking my wife out on a date, of course I prepare in advance."
An Junxi blushed, taking the flowers, "Thank you, I really like them."
Gu Yikun looked at her, his eyes full of anticipation.
An Junxi glanced around and then tiptoed to give him a kiss.
Her shy demeanor stirred Gu Yikun’s heart. If they weren’t outside, he really wanted to kiss her deeply.
After they returned home, An Junxi found a beautiful vase, arranging the roses and placing them in the most prominent spot.
Gu Yikun came out of the shower to see his lovely wife lying on the bed, propping her head up, staring at the bouquet of roses with a smile.
Gu Yikun suddenly felt like he had failed. She was so happy just receiving a bouquet, and he had taken so long to realize he should give her flowers.
If Zha Zhuoxin hadn’t reminded him, he might never have thought of this.
Looks like he should get a raise.
