Chapter 45: Chapter 44: True Villainess Of The Novel

"What are you planning, Lady Eleanore Sinclair?" She asked, in the most unfriendly tone Eleanore had ever heard. It made her feel uneasy and strange. This person is not good. She just knew it.

From the novel that Eleanore had read, she remembered her character very well. Adena Velrose, Caelestis’ cousin, had feelings for him. She loved him ever since they were children, just like the original Eleanore. But she hid it well, not letting the world or even Caelestis know her original feelings.

Adena always supported Caelestis in all his wrong decisions. Stella’s imprisonment was actually her idea. Instead of begging for her love, like Eleanore, she chose to eliminate every obstacle. Eleanore was an easy obstacle; her foolishness was itself a weapon for Verbena and Stella. Well, she knew the kind of woman Stella is. A woman like her would never fall for a cold-blooded bastard like Caelestis.

Caelestis’ monstrous behaviour, could itself send Stella away from him. She used her brain well and eliminated all her rivals. In the end she won over Caelestis and died together with him at the end of the novel.

She believed that only she deserved Caelestis. His monstrous energy and his madness could be handled only by her. Thus, she held on to him. Loved him and never left her side.

Eleanore also always thought they belonged to each other. A perfect match of Red Flags.

A vicious but loyal woman, she was!

"Stel," Eleanore turned to her with a soft smile barely hanging on her lips. "Can you wait for me in the carriage?"

Feeling the intensity of the moment, Stella didn’t argue with her, she nodded and left the scene.

"Lady Adena Velrose. What are you trying to say? I am unable to understand." Eleanore raised one of her eyebrows, acting as if she understood nothing, as she faced the vicious villainess of the novel.

"This is a new conspiracy of yours, isn’t it?" She asked in her elegant voice, with a hint of smirk on her face.

"What conspiracy? This is my genuine attempt to befriend my childhood friend’s future finance."

Adena frowned, "Really?" she scoffed, "You, Lady Eleanore, you, who has been obsessed with her childhood friend suddenly wants to befriend his crush. That’s suspicious, isn’t it?"

"Is it?" Eleanore glared at this woman, who was trying to provoke her, but had failed terribly. "Lady, I have no feelings for your cousin. There is no need for you to beware of me." She moved forward and whispered against Verbena’s ear. "You like him too, don’t you?"

"Nonsense." Adena moved back, away from this foul woman, who has no shame. "Cealestis is my brother, Lady Eleanore. How could you—"

"Oh please save that. For I know it all." Eleanore cut her off. "Lady Adena, you are shameless to have such feelings for him, don’t put the dirt on me."

"How dare you?" Adena shivered in anger.

"See you later, Lady Adena." Eleanore said, as she started walking forward to the carriage. When the door to the carriage opened, Eleanore turned to look over her shoulder. Adena was still standing there. "Next time, Lady Adena. Do learn some etiquette. You didn’t bow to me. That’s disrespectful."

The door closed behind her and the carriage took off, leaving Verbena bewildered and puzzled by this sudden behavioural change in Eleanore. She is supposed to be dumb then how did she become— so smart. Adena didn’t want to admit it but now she has a new enemy. Eleanore Sinclair is her new enemy.

’I must eliminate her first. I can deal with Stella later.’ She let out a loud sigh as her mind raced to come up with a new plan. Soon a smirk appeared on her face.

Caelestis arranged an outing for the three of them in the countryside, according to Eleanore’s plan. He took a day off, leaving all the work to Victor, who was still out of the capital, dealing with a mess Caelestis had created.

Stella sat next to Eleanore in the carriage, while Caelestis sat opposite them. They were wearing clothes of the commoners and yet had a charm of a noble.

Eleanore was listening to an excited Stella who had many places to show Eleanore. Places where she had been with Caelestis but wanted to make new memories there with her new friend. Her eyes moved to Caelestis, whose eyes were already fixed on her. That caught her by surprise. How come he is looking at her and not Stella?

"Elle, do you know there is this restaurant that sells the best food. It has a taste you might have never tried." Stella said, bringing Eleanore’s gaze back to her.

"Yes, we will." Eleanore replied with a smile.

The carriage suddenly stopped in front of an art gallery. One that Stella had been talking about ever since they left the mansion.

"Shall we take a tour, my ladies?" Caelestis asked, as he opened the door, got down, and offered his hand to help them both down.

Stella accepted his help and got off the carriage, then when Caelestis extended his hand again to help Eleanore. Stella pushed him out of the picture. "Elle, let me help you get down." She said with a broad smile, stretching across her face. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

Eleanore laughed at her stupidity, in such a mesmerizing way that Caelestis’ eyes didn’t leave her face at all. "Sure." She said, getting down with the help of Stella’s hand.

They left Caelestis behind and entered the building. He felt left out and lost at the same time. Today is an opportunity to get close to Stella, yet he hasn’t had a single conversation with her, ever since they left the mansion. Instead, all he could see today was Eleanore.

Why? What’s so different about her today? What’s wrong with me? He wondered, rubbing his thumb on his forehead.

Figuring an answer for this strange question that hung on his mind, as they entered the art gallery through a huge staircase, followed by a wide entrance door. The side walls near the door had beautiful stone carving and the top of it had the name of the gallery in Golden stones. "Imperial Gallery Of Gale"
