Chapter 11 - 10: The Accident

"How?" Eleanore couldn't understand the quest. She hasn't moved an inch from this balcony, so how is Stella in danger?

She spared another glance at the balcony and spotted the fragile golden railing mentioned in the web novel. Swiftly she turned around, to see if the royal garden was visible from here and to her dismay it was.

'The balcony is the one from where the original Eleanore had pushed Stella down.'

As she tried to calm her racing heart, and find a solution to this situation, she heard Stella having a conversation with someone.

"Who are you?" she asked.

Eleanore could see Stella's silhouette approaching the broken railing and the urgency to accept the quest and rush out of here kicked in.

Clicking "Yes", Eleanore rushed out of the balcony when a new kind of window popped up flying above her, with the timer dropping drastically. Asking Eleanore to run for her and Stella's life.

Eleanore didn't even have a minute.

"Stella?!" Flora was about to enter the balcony, when she saw Eleanore running outside the balcony bare feet.

When Eleanore saw, she quickly sprinted in her direction but Stella didn't move, when she saw concern in her friend's crimson eyes. Her face was twisted in worry, her eyes wide open and her jaw dropped, grabbing in breath at every second.

"Flora, send my brother to the balcony above this one." Eleanore shouted out from quite a distance, before passing through her. Everyone in the ball was also surprised to see her running upstairs. Stunned by her sudden stunt.

Caelestis, who was standing near the staircase, waiting for Stella. Saw Eleanore going toward the staircase and felt a sudden need to rush behind her. He sensed danger, an extremely odd feeling had enveloped his heart.

Eleanore started above the stairs in bare feet, jumping, skipping a stair to save time but her long, flowy, annoying dress kept getting in her way.

When she jumped, skipping the last step, her gown got stuck in a needle, standing loose on the stand that held an expensive glass vase.

Eleanore, frustrated, pulled her gown out of it, tearing it in the process and shattering the vase when it dashed onto the floor. She hated ruining that amazing dress Stella had stitched for her, but at the moment the life of that dressmaker was more important. If the dressmaker lives, she can have her make hundreds more.

Eleanore continued ahead. The timer dropped quickly over her head. The hallway felt rather longer, larger than usual, she could only continue running in the direction of the balcony.

Fortunately she recognised the balcony quickly, when she saw the door open. She could hear screams of Stella and so could Caelestis who was right behind Eleanore.

When she entered the balcony, she found Stella hanging on the sharp, broken, broken railing. Pain that entered her veins had started coming out in the form of warm blood.

Just when Stella was losing her grip, due to the slippery blood of hers, Eleanore quickly leaped forward and grabbed Stella's hand, when she lost her grip on the broken railing.

Eleanore's right arm got scratched by the broken part of the railing, standing right near the one Stella was holding on. She gasped in pain as the blood started to ooze out of her tender skin. She closed her eyes tightly, as her hand reached off to the edge of the floor below her.

Eleanore tried to pull herself up, along with Stella but she was too heavy and her arm was too hurt. She endured the pain and gathered up strength to hold onto Stella's arm by her other hand. Once she had caught it, Eleanore noticed that she was getting dragged down by Stella's weight.

Shit!

I am going to get dragged down as well!

When half her body was outside the balcony floor, someone caught her legs from behind and started pulling her up. Soon the hand caught her waist and then moved on to grabbing Stella's hand.

It was Caelestis.

Eleanore let go of Stella's hand, after confirming she was in safe hands. She leaned back and took a break. Her breathing was heavy from all the running and her bleeding arm had added a fair share to her exhaustion and pain.

Flora arrived at the scene with Hael, followed by many other guests. When they saw Caelestis running behind Eleanore, they knew something was wrong. Thinking Eleanore had performed a new blunder, they arrived to witness the drama. Instead, they were all shocked to see a dangerous accident that had taken place.

Caelestis had Stella in his hands. She had lost her consciousness, immediately after Caelestis held her. He checked her body thoroughly, until his gaze fell on her injured hand. Anger surged in like an electric shock, as he brought her closer to him, trying to warm her up.

"It's okay." He whispered, gently rubbing his hand on her back. "I've got you."

Hael quickly rushed to his injured sister. He kneeled beside her and tightly held her arm in an attempt to stop the bleeding.

"Elle? Look at how much you are bleeding. We must go to a doctor, this instant." Hael suggested, helping Eleanore get up.

"Eleanore Sinclair." Caelestis yelled. "You are going nowhere." An order left his mouth.

"Caelestis, my sister—" Hael began but was interrupted.

"You sister, did all this." He concluded without thinking much about the situation logically. He just came to that conclusion because it was easy to blame Eleanore for everything.
