Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 81: Who knew being alone with could be scary?

"Lin Lin!" called out Lee Ya and Qie Xieling’s eyes reluctantly left the screen for a moment but as the two warriors fighting in the arena were reaching a climax in their battle to the death, Qie Xieling’s eyes were back on the screen with Bo Ailun screaming, "Yes, yes, yessss!"

Qie Xieling face palmed while cursing, "Damnit, he had him though."

Bo Ailun was what one would call a sore winner. "Pay up, pay this uncle what you owe him. I told you he would mess it up," he said with the two of them in their own little world.

"Here, fine but I still think they will win," he said taking out cash from his wallet.

"Xieling," called out Lee Ya again and this time he responded.

"Sorry, I was destructed just now. Was this place hard to find?" he said his attitude as mellow as ever. He didn’t even pay attention to how beautiful she looked.

"No, it was easy to find," she replied before reaching out to hug him. The three people on the side almost wanted to roll their eyes.

Qie Xieling casually half hugged her but for Lee Ya, her heart was pounding hard. She just wanted to be alone with him but these three light bulbs had to tag along.

"Let’s go. We will start at the jewellery store," she said hooking her arm around his with a sly quirk on her lips in a place where no one could see.

Behind them, Bo Ailun couldn’t help but whisper, "I don’t like this. Lin Lin has a hard time refusing people. She is going to hound him into dating," his weariness genuine.

"I doubt it. He is just tolerating her," replied Ah Cy but even she was doubtful. The fear of her ship sinking was imminent.

When they reached the storefront Qie Xieling immediately recognised it. This was the kind of jewellery store with no walk-ins. It only took on clients on an appointment basis. This meant only he and Lee Ya could get inside as she had only booked for the two of them. If he had known she was going here he would have added people to the appointment.

Bo Ailun had been here before so he knew how the store operated. He couldn’t help but give it to Lee Ya, she knew how to play her cards right.

Qie Xieling turned to the others and said, "We will go inside for a few minutes. Bobo, how about you take them to the novelty store nearby? I will meet you there."

Wei Qi and Ah Cy weren’t too happy about it but what could they do? They came to gate crush after hearing about the news from Bo Ailun. To defend their CP and avenge for the pelting incident, they didn’t want to give Lee Ya peace. Unfortunately, they couldn’t waltz into that store with them and ruin it for her even more. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

The pair walked into the store and as expected they were treated like royalty. The store assistant led them to a comfortable couch and offered them something to drink while another took out several luxury watches, cufflinks and money clips.

They already knew what the young miss wanted so they didn’t waste any time. Qie Xieling had been here with his nana to buy a watch for his other nana. He had no experience buying luxury accessories for his dads because his father had three shelves dedicated to expensive watches and cufflinks that the two of them shared as a couple so it would be a waste to buy any of these for them.

This meant his input was a bit shallow. Lee Ya would ask how about this or this one and Qie Xieling’s response would be that’s nice, that’s nice too. Despite noticing his nonchalant behaviour, Lee Ya wasn’t discouraged. Her mother always said that it was okay for men to have different interests from their wives as long as they know their way back home.

She pursed her lips before placing her hand beside his. "How about I buy you a gift? A necklace perhaps," she said her pinky finger lightly brushing against the back of Qie Xieling’s hand.

As though zapped by static electricity, Qie Xieling moved his hand away wondering what the fuck touched him.

The smile on Lee Ya’s face froze as she watched him look around for spiders or something. Lee Ya’s face had black lines watching this.

Was there anyone in this world as clueless as Qie Xieling? Well, yes actually and that person was bent because of his cluelessness. Now he had a husband and a son in the blink of an eye.

Lee Ya grabbed his hand and said, "There is no... spider it was," but before she could finish speaking the store assistant suddenly led the three date crushers in followed by Luo Muchen.

Lee Ya, "..."

How in the world was Luo Muchen here? Well, last night Qie Xieling refused to tell him where he was going and Bo Ailun as a loyal friend did not snitch.

As to why Qie Xieling didn’t want him there, it was because he could tell something was up with these two. The level of hostility was unnatural.

If Luo Muchen was a normal human being he would have stayed away but he had a dash of crazy in his genes. So he called his mother’s business partner and friend who owned luxury brands stores and guess what, she found out about Lee Ya’s appointment in one of her stores.

Simple, innit?

Lee Ya was like a hot kettle on the verge of erupting while Qie Xieling looked like he had seen his saviour. Who knew being alone with girls was scary?

"How are you here?" asked Qie Xieling and Luo Muchen smiled slightly while saying,

"To pick up a gift."

He sat down opposite Qie Xieling while Bo Ailun squeezed in between Qie Xieling and Lee Ya.

"You should never leave me with these two alone. I almost pulled my hair out. They are so indecisive," complained Bo Ailun after hearing the words ’How about this one’ over and over again. Just pick one damn it, they all look the same anyway.

Qie Xieling ruffled Bo Ailun’s hair in comfort but his eyes were gravitating towards Luo Muchen who was also looking at him. No words were said but there seemed to be a lot of tension. As to what kind it was that was yet to be determined.
