Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 78: Grapefruits not buns
Because of this Luo Muchen gave him a cold shoulder the entire morning. Luo Shih could see something was wrong with her son and wanted to ask but because Qie Xieling was there she couldn’t.
While dropping them off at school Luo Shih tried to eavesdrop on their conversation but they barely spoke. Qie Xieling was on his cell phone the entire time while Luo Muchen was angrily flipping his practice book.
She was suddenly worried that something did happen last night and one party was dissatisfied. She didn’t want to be nosy but damn, curiosity was in her nature.
When they reached the school, Qie Xieling thanked her before getting out of the car. Luo Muchen was about to get off as well when Luo Shih asked, "You okay?"
Luo Muchen nodded his head before stepping out. Luo Shih sighed watching the two of them walk into the school with Qie Xieling draping his arm around Luo Muchen’s shoulders.
Luo Muchen pushed Qie Xieling away expressing his dissatisfaction. Qie Xieling didn’t give up. He hugged Luo Muchen again while saying, "Don’t be mad. I was just messing with you. It was just a joke."
Luo Muchen glared at him from the corner of his eye while saying, "I am not mad about that."
Qie Xieling finally understood why he was pissed so he said, "Ah, that... aren’t we both boys? What you have I have so why are you so upset? Here, I will strip in front of you and we are even." 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
Luo Muchen, "..."
"So you are just willing to strip in front of anyone?" asked Luo Muchen as his steps paused in the middle of the corridor.
Qie Xieling casually glanced at the people passing by heading to class before saying, "Did I say I will strip for anyone or you?"
Luo Muchen was finally done. He was so done with him that he swapped seats with Bo Ailun for the morning classes. He needed space to cool down but Qie Xieling wouldn’t leave him alone.
Mid-class he passed on notes but each were thrown into Luo Muchen’s pencil case. Bo Ailun couldn’t help but mock, "You guys only had one sleepover and he is already done with your nonsense. Who knew all it took to get a divorce was a sleepover?"
"What divorce. He is obviously throwing a tantrum," replied Qie Xieling while folding a paper plane.
Bo Ailun couldn’t help but laugh while Qie Xieling looked into his pencil case for a pen that wasn’t black or blue. Having found how boring and standard his pens were he got up to find Lee Ya. She always had cute notepads and pens.
He knocked on her desk while watching the door for the next teacher. Lee Ya fixed her hair shyly while asking, "What’s up?"
"Let me see your pencil case. I need a bright inked pen," he said and Lee Ya pushed her pencil case over.
Qie Xieling went through it while Lee Ya asked, "What do you need it for?"
Qie Xieling chuckled lightly while holding a pink sparkly pen. "I am coaxing people... Thanks," he said before walking away.
Lee Ya suddenly grasped his arm and Luo Muchen who was watching them clenched his jaw tightly. Qie Xieling was right, he should never be left unsupervised. He just left him alone for two classes and he was already visiting others.
Lee Ya smiled sweetly while saying, "How about we hang out after school? I need to get something for my father’s birthday but I don’t know what to buy."
Qie Xieling had plans after school so he said, "I am playing volleyball today but we can go on the weekend."
Lee Ya was a little disappointed but thinking they could spend time together during the weekend she let it go. "Okay, thanks gege," she said and Qie Xieling who cared more about coaxing Luo Muchen nodded casually before rushing to sit down.
Bo Ailun who saw Lee Ya giggling with her deskmate couldn’t help but ask, "You two?"
Qie Xieling who was busy writing sweet nothings didn’t even look at him as he replied, "You are overthinking. She is just a friend."
Bo Ailun nodded his head recalling what Wei Qi said about Lee Ya. She told him not to tell Qie Xieling about Lee Ya pelting them with balls at the tennis court with her goons. This further increased his dislike of her but Qie Xieling seemed to like having her around.
Qie Xieling finally finished but before he could throw it at Luo Muchen, teacher Zhu walked in.
You would think given his track record he would wait till the end of the class but he couldn’t stand the feeling of his deskmate dumping him.
When teacher Zhu had his back to the class Qie Xieling threw the paper plane and like a glider, it flew across the classroom with great precision. As it was about to hit its intended target Tang Fei suddenly struck it down like a fly with his chemistry textbook drawing teacher Zhu’s attention.
"Fei!" yelled teacher Zhu and the evil smile on his face fell before he started selling out Qie Xieling.
Qie Xieling, "..."
’This snitch!’ he yelled internally while teacher Zhu turned to look at him before beckoning him over with his fingers.
Qie Xieling, (QAQ)
He reluctantly got up and dragged his feet to the front. Teacher Zhu studied the paper plane while saying, "If only you were good at chemistry as much as you are good at arts and crafts... Why are you two not sitting together today?"
How could Qie Xieling answer this? ’I walked in while my deskmate was showering and now he is mad at me?’
"Read it for us," said teacher Zhu and Qie Xieling closed his eyes contemplating jumping out of the window.
"But sir," he grumbled only for teacher Zhu to raise his hand.
"Keep talking and I will give the entire class double the assignment," said teacher Zhu and the entire class turned on Qie Xieling. They were always swapped with tests and assignments with sports on top of that. Nobody wanted any more unnecessary work.
Qie Xieling didn’t want to be a social pariah so he glanced at Luo Muchen who unlike everybody else wasn’t looking at him.
Qie Xieling sighed deeply while scratching his head. "To my amazing deskmate. Sorry, I did what I did this morning. I promise it won’t happen again and I won’t say anything about your buns.
To be honest, they look more like large grapefruits. Anyway, I am sorry. Please come back and we can have lunch together on me. XOXO."
The class had no idea what buns and grapefruits meant but they still found it funny. Qie Xieling was so embarrassed that he vowed never to mess around in class ever again.
Teacher Zhu patted his back while saying, "Sit down."
Qie Xieling hastily went back to his seat his face red with embarrassment. Bo Ailun whispered, "What are buns and grapefruits?" but Qie Xieling ignored him.
He paid attention for the rest of the class and when the bell rang he sat with his face lying on his desk while playing with his cell phone.
Someone suddenly pinched his ear lobe and Qie Xieling slapped their hand away thinking it was Bo Ailun.
A soft laugh followed before a familiar voice said, "Grapefruit?"
Qie Xieling, "..."
