Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 73: "I promise I will be an angel...
Qie Xieling never thought that he would ever be lured away by a parent just so they could get some dirt on his classmate and not just any classmate of that matter but his deskmate.
Qie Xieling couldn’t help but laugh out loud thinking she was joking. What crush? Luo Muchen was the very epitome of a monk.
He had a lot of pretty girls writing confessions but he would show a cold face and even dare to correct their grammar.
"Auntie, wouldn’t that be considered betraying my deskmate if I tell you his secret?" he said but even he wasn’t aware that Luo Muchen had a crush.
Luo Shih wanted this kid to spill all the beans so she softened her voice by a few degrees saying, "No, not at all. I just want to know who he likes and maybe I can you know.... help him finally win her heart."
Qie Xieling’s brows twitched smelling a hidden secret from a mile away. Tapping the table rapidly with his forefinger he leaned forward and said, "Me and your son aren’t that super close that he would tell me who he likes but if you give me more details I will be able to deduce who it is."
Luo Shih saw no flaw in his words. In fact, it made more sense that they weren’t that close despite being deskmates for years.
"Okay. It has to be someone he has known since elementary school and she was on your camping trip. Do you know a girl who fits that populus," she said and Qie Xieling’s brow arched.
"It can’t be... wow, that little liar. He actually likes Bi Yu," whispered Qie Xieling. Luo Shih couldn’t hear what he said so she asked,
"Who? It has to be someone around him."
Qie Xieling’s lips quirked into a sneer having realised that Luo Muchen was still seeing Bi Yu despite her now going to an all-girls school one city over. He asked him several times and Luo Muchen’s answer was always the same, "I haven’t spoken to her."
Seeing Qie Xieling’s reaction, Luo Shih thought she had hit the jackpot so she asked, "Who is it? Oh, and she smells like peac-."
Before she could reveal this key detail the glass door was suddenly pushed open and the subject of their conversation entered while yelling,
"Ma!"
"Fuck," swore Luo Shih having been caught.
Luo Muchen felt something was wrong the moment he heard the principal was calling him at the end of school. When he got there the man had called him for something trivial that wasn’t even a principal’s direct responsibility. If it was his homeroom teacher asking it would make sense. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
After he left the principal’s office and found that Qie Xieling was gone his suspicions grew stronger thus he asked one of the girls standing around if they saw Qie Xieling. At the mention of an auntie and cake shop, Luo Muchen instantly knew his mother could no longer curb her curiosity.
He ran all the way there and sure enough when he looked through the glass windows of the cake shop he saw his mother sitting with Qie Xieling.
He hastily opened the door just in time to hear his mother about to mention the words peaches and cream. Qie Xieling was clueless but he wasn’t stupid. Once he found out about the peaches and cream scent it was game over.
Luo Shih instantly became defensive. She threw her hands in there and acted like Qie Xieling was a lost puppy that she just picked up on her way here.
"I just saw him standing there and decided to treat him to some cake. Look at that face... he seemed so pitiful," she said pinching his cheeks.
Qie Xieling, ’WTF!’
Luo Muchen didn’t buy that. "Ma, you can’t just kidnap my deskmate when you want to know something," said Luo Muchen while Qie Xieling picked up his cell phone which was buzzing.
When he saw it was a message from his dad Qie Xieling got up to call him leaving this pair of mother and son arguing.
"... well, you have been keeping a secret from me for far too long and I couldn’t help myself," she said through gritted teeth.
"Now stop yelling at me. You know I was just curious and that one was ready to sell you out for a slice of cheesecake. You should really change your deskmate," she continued to say and Luo Muchen was speechless.
Qie Xieling didn’t hear these words of slander otherwise he would sell out this auntie immediately. He was busy listening to his dad grinning like a fool.
"... no need to call Nana? I will stay with Chubs tonight. You two have fun," he said already foreseeing all the dumb stuff they can get up to tonight.
Wen Qinxi glanced at his husband lying on the bed shirtless and tied to the bed while replying, "Don’t make trouble for Auntie Bo. If I hear that you two caused her trouble you won’t go on that year-end school trip."
Qie Xieling, "..."
"I promise I will be an angel. Bye Dad," he replied and immediately cut the call.
Wen Qinxi glanced at the cell phone screen that showed that the call ended before looking at Qie Ranzhe. "That brat hung up on me," he said and Qie Ranzhe who couldn’t wait for what was to come said,
"Are you mad? Then come vent it all on me," in a lascivious tone. Wen Qinxi couldn’t waste this opportunity. He had a lot of stress that needed an outlet and that man right there was the perfect outlet.
"Don’t regret it later," said Wen Qinxi with an unsettling grin.
While Qie Ranzhe was being tamed by his husband, Qie Xieling was excitedly sending messages to Bo Ailun. It had been a long while since they had a sleep over mainly because they were troublemakers by nature.
He was about to dial Bo Ailun’s number when Luo Muchen suddenly appeared beside him. Without thinking Qie Xieling said, "I am going to grab a taxi and go by Chubs’ house."
While Qie Xieling was talking Luo Muchen’s gaze was glued to him like he was seriously paying attention but there was a subtle sense of enamour buried in those eyes.
