Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 628: Conflict
The two girls exchanged knowing glances, their excitement hidden beneath practised poise. They had never thought they would have this opportunity. They were quite surprised that waiting by his car actually worked.
They were but Qie Xieling wasn’t amused. He didn’t want to bother the student administration and get a separate parking lot from the student parking lot but it seemed that he now had no choice.
He barely spared them a glance. This had happened too many times for him to care. His eyes swept over the group, assessing them with detached curiosity. One of the two guys tried to match his cool demeanour, but their nervous fidgeting gave them away. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
He pursed his lips about to open the car door when one of the guys said, "Nice car," attempting to strike up a conversation.
Qie Xieling raised an eyebrow. He had been nice before and that only got him an unwarranted love confession so he couldn’t help but be rude. "It gets me from point A to point B."
The girls giggled, and the one with black hair blushed. "I am Xiaolian, you can call me Li Li," she said and the other girl couldn’t help but tease.
"Li Li and Lin Lin, it sounds cute," she said and Xiaolian blushed while biting her lower lip shyly.
Qie Xieling clenched his jaw feeling irritable. This was getting ridiculous. He most definitely had to call someone to get this sorted out.
The other girls tried to introduce themselves too, but Qie Xieling interrupted them. "Enjoy your day. I have somewhere to go," he said, his voice devoid of warmth. Then he reached for the car door about to open it.
As though controlled by ghosts and demons one of the guys sneered coldly and murmured, "So fucking rude."
The girls, "..."
Rude? Yes, he was rude but who wouldn’t be upset when they found people leaning on their property and taking pictures and videos of themselves with it like they had the right to do so?
"What did you say?" he said his question not exactly a question but a demand. The guy’s friends tried to pull the spirited young man back but his hatred for the rich was boiling over.
"Just because you are from a rich family doesn’t mean you should act so arrogant," he said and Qie Xieling couldn’t believe he was getting scolded. He was already irritable after his man ditched him for his grandmas which didn’t help the situation.
He let out a cynical chuckle while pushing his hair back. "Did you come here to pick a fight? Is that it?"
The hot-headed man who couldn’t distinguish good from bad continued poking the bear with a stick. The one called Xiaolian didn’t want her opportunity ruined so she got in her friend’s face to stop him from talking but that only made it worse.
As though injected with chicken blood he became even more hyped defending her honour unsolicited. "What do you mean let’s go. He ignored you. He didn’t even acknowledge you. They all say Lin Lin is nice, Lin Lin is so cute," he said deliberately making his voice high-pitched imitating the fan girls on the school forum.
He took a few steps forward and with an arrogant smile he continued, "But it’s all a fuckin lie. He is just as arrogant as those silver spoon brats."
Seeing that Qie Xieling didn’t reply he decided in his mind that he was a pushover and could be bullied. "What are you going to do? Go home and cry to your daddy?" he said with a taunting smile.
Qie Xieling laughed softly while saying, "Actually that was a good one. Never heard that one before." The young man’s eyes wavered wondering if Qie Xieling was really as in the forums. Was he too nice for his own good? Welp, he soon found the answer to that.
His demeanour shifted suddenly to something dark and sinister as his hand shot out, gripping the guy’s finger. He twisted it, not enough to break it, but enough to make a point. "Point that finger at me again," he said, his voice a low growl, "and you’ll regret it."
His expression was indifferent, the atmosphere growing cold and menacing. The young man fell to his knees trying to ease the pain. His so-called loyal friends didn’t come to his rescue. In fact, they were paralyzed with fear not wanting to provoke Qie Xieling and have his wrath turned on them.
A figure suddenly rushed over from nowhere. Bo Ailun had just finished class with Qie Xieling earlier and because Qie Xieling was planning on meeting up with Luo Muchen he stayed behind flirting with the teacher’s assistant.
Who would have thought after successfully friending her and getting a promise of a date he would walk out to his friend in a conflict? What made things even worse was that a small number of people were already gathering to watch the show.
His arrival was like a gust of wind that could either fan the flames or extinguish them.
"Lin Lin!" he called out, his voice firm yet laced with concern. He reached the duo in a matter of strides, placing a steady hand on Qie Xieling’s shoulder. "Hey, what’s going on?"
Bo Ailun asked but he already knew what was going on. He had seen it too many times. He just didn’t think they would be this shameless. They had the balls to lean and sit on his car taking pictures and now they had the nerve to provoke him.
Qie Xieling’s muscles were coiled tight, his focus unbroken. But when Bo Ailun touched him something shifted. He allowed him to pull him back but his sharp gaze was still glaring at his opponent.
Bo Ailun turned to the guy who had been helped up by his friend, his expression calm but authoritative. "Walk away. Accept your loss... and for fuck sake stay away from his car. It’s rude and disrespectful," he said, his tone leaving no room for argument.
The arrogant brat still nursing his bruised ego, looked between Qie Xieling and Bo Ailun. The smirk he had before vanished, replaced by a sullen scowl. He grunted something under his breath and with one last glare at Qie Xieling, he backed off.
