Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 596: "You are too cute,"
Qie Ranzhe still wanted to have his moment but looking at that look in his mother’s eyes he couldn’t say anything. She looked like she would bite his head off and kick it around like a ball.
Grandma Wen was afraid her precious grandson would get into trouble so he turned to Luo Muchen and asked him, "Ah-Chen can you go after him and make sure he doesn’t get himself into trouble."
Luo Muchen was more than willing to chase after his man. He just couldn’t leave at his own initiative since he was a guest so when she offered he quickly pulled out his key from his pocket and the door of the white Laykan with blue stripes opened.
Meanwhile, Qie Xieling had no idea that he had a tail.
His car shot through the gates, tyres screeching in protest. The engine’s roar filled the empty street. At the third turn, he chose the route towards the empty road that snaked its way up the mountain. Once on that road, he stepped on the gas pedal.
His car devoured the miles, leaving nothing but dust and wonder in its wake. Qie Xieling grinned, feeling the pulse of the engine beneath his fingertips.
The engine’s roar echoed off the rocky cliffs as he gripped the leather-wrapped steering wheel. The brand-new car hugged the winding road, tyres gripping the asphalt with a hunger for speed. The mountain pass stretched ahead and Qie Xieling grew bold.
He suddenly caught a glimpse of white in the rearview mirror. It was a sleek sports car closing in.
His lips curled showing his tiger teeth. He didn’t think Luo Muchen would recreate the game scene with him. "How romantic," he whispered his chest almost bursting with spring. This man made him feel so alive.
When Luo Muchen spotted the black phantom turning the corner a mischievous glint flashed in his eyes, and a grin spread across his face.
"There you are," he whispered ready to catch his prey. He pressed down on the accelerator and the two cars hurtled toward the peak, engines screaming defiance at gravity. Qie Xieling’s car surged forward, and Luo Muchen matched him, tyre to tyre. The wind whizzed past intermingled with the smell of burning rubber. As the road narrowed, Qie Xieling’s fingers danced over the gearshift. He downshifted, the engine growling its approval. The mountain air turned crisp, and the world blurred around him. He stole another glance at Luo Muchen, who leaned into the curves with a grace that stole Qie Xieling’s breath away.
The summit of the mountain loomed a lonely outpost where the sky kissed the earth. His heart pounded unwilling to lose to Luo Muchen again. With a flick of the wheel, he sent his car into a controlled slide, smoke billowing from the tyres. The scent of burnt rubber filled the air as he circled Luo Muchen’s car, leaving a smoky halo in his wake. It seemed he got another amazing skill from the game.
Luo Muchen’s brow furrowed slightly. His instincts kicked in and he found himself matching Qie Xieling’s drift, their cars dancing in tandem.
Qie Xieling was a little surprised. Did this mean that Luo Muchen remembered what they did in the game? He couldn’t wait to ask him.
At the peak, they skidded to a stop, engines ticking as they cooled. Qie Xieling parked his car facing opposite Luo Muchen’s with the sun getting close to the horizon. He lowered the window, and Luo Muchen did the same. Their eyes met, and Qie Xieling’s heart swelled.
"You’re insane you know that?" said Luo Muchen breathless. His hands were trembling and clammy from nervousness. He had no idea what possessed him to do such a thing with Qie Xieling. He now understood why his parents didn’t get him a sportscar.
Qie Xieling grinned as he placed his arm out of the window. "Nice drift babe. Where did you learn that?" he asked with an entrancing smile that made Luo Muchen’s heartbeat accelerate.
"I don’t know. I just... did it," he replied while showing him his trembling hands. "Look how they are shaking."
"So you don’t remember?" he asked and Luo Muchen’s brow arched. Qie Xieling covered his mouth with his hand as though trying to prevent anyone from reading his lips.
"We even fucked in the car," he whispered before pursing his lips stifling his laughter.
Luo Muchen’s eyes widened. He hastily looked around checking if anyone heard him. Of course, he knew that this was a desolate mountain and no one could hear him even if he screamed but still.
His heart skipped a beat, his imagination of what that had to look like flashing in his mind. He felt the warmth spreading across his cheeks, a blush blooming there.
"You want me to tell you how we did it?" he asked as he rested his chin on his folded arm resting on the car door. He had on an amused expression enjoying watching Luo Muchen blush.
Luo Muchen’s blush deepened his cheeks now a shade of crimson that rivaled the setting sun. He averted his gaze now resembling a lobster cooked through and through.
"You were a beast, Daddy," he continued to say his voice soft yet certain, a smile playing on his lips.
Luo Muchen couldn’t take it anymore. He screamed internally his blood boiling. He had to find out what the hell they did in that game. Seeing that his man was unable to take the stimulation anymore he let out a gentle chuckle before saying, "Okay okay, I won’t tease you anymore. Let’s go home." 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Their eyes met again, and Luo Muchen was caught in the tender gaze that held him. Qie Xieling leaned forward his entire head almost sticking out of the car before saying, "You are too cute."
Luo Muchen suddenly leaned across the gap and captured Qie Xieling’s lips in a searing kiss. The kiss was gentle but scorching with lingering adrenaline. Soon they broke apart, foreheads touching.
"I love you," Luo Muchen whispered.
Qie Xieling looked straight into his eyes and bit his lower lip before replying, "I love you too."
