Chapter 560: Waking up

"Chen Chen, my baby! Oh, Mum was dying of worry," she said.

Luo Muchen felt her warmth and her love, but he also felt her guilt and her regret. He hugged her back, but he didn’t say anything. He didn’t know what to say. That’s because he had no idea what happened to him.

"Mum mum, where is my phone?" he asked and Luo Shih who had been worried half to death smacked his arm twice while reprimanding him.

"I have been worried sick for you yet the first thing on your mind is a bloody phone. Wu wu wu, this son of mine is heartless," she said wailing so loud that it shocked Luo Muchen. She wasn’t the type to put on such theatrics so what was going on?

"Don’t keep standing. Come sit down," she said while pulling him away. She sat him on the bed and started checking if he was okay from head to toe.

Hei Xiwen just stood by the door watching the pair of mother and son. He was glad that Luo Muchen had finally woken up.

"What happened to me?" he asked and Luo Shih wiped her tears before asking,

"You don’t remember? You got kidnapped by that bastard Leong Jinn and have been stuck in a stupid game. Wu wu wu, I thought I would never rescue you in time. My poor baby."

Luo Muchen, "..."

His mother and Hei Xiwen took time to explain the entire thing but out of everything else, the only thing on his mind was Qie Xieling and what he might have done to him. Whatever he did probably made him so upset that he said he hated him.

Luo Shih could tell what was on her son’s mind. She had seen her son’s feelings clearly. He was just as passionate as she was when she fell in love with his father.

"Even if I get your phone now you won’t be able to talk to him. He is probably still passed out," she said but she soon regretted saying it. It was better when she didn’t mention it.

Luo Muchen felt a surge of fear and worry. He tried to get up, but Luo Shih gently pushed him back.

"Lie down. You need to rest. As soon as he wakes up I will let you know." She said, her voice trembling. She had told him what happened but she didn’t mention what happened between him and Qie Xieling. She hoped he would slowly remember and didn’t want to shock him back into an unconscious state. If he knew he might insist on going and possibly clash with Qie Ranzhe. Right now he was too weak and would be at a disadvantage.

Luo Muchen felt his heart sink. He wanted to see Qie Xieling, to hold him, to tell him he loved him. He was filled with this inexplicable fear that he would lose him as a friend if he didn’t address this.

"Mom, please, let me go. I need to see him. I need to be by his side." Luo Muchen begged, his eyes reddening.

Luo Shih felt her heart break seeing him like this. She couldn’t let him go. At least not yet "No, trust me. You can’t... at least not yet. You need to rest well first. I am sure Qie Xieling wouldn’t want you to hurt yourself more." She said, trying to calm him down.

Luo Muchen could tell that his mother wouldn’t let him go so he could only give in for now. He just had to wait for them to fall asleep before sneaking out to find him. While Luo Muchen was plotting his escape, the person he wanted to see was still passed out.

Four hours later Qie Xieling opened his eyes slowly, feeling a dull ache in his head. He blinked a few times, trying to adjust to the dim light in the room. He looked around, confused by the sight of medical equipment and wires attached to his body. He had an IV on his arm, dripping some clear fluid into his veins. He rubbed his temple, trying to make sense of the situation. How long had he been unconscious? Was it a new world or something?

He raised his arm, looking at the IV with a lost expression. He tried to pull out the needle, but it was taped securely to his skin. He felt a tug on his chest and realized he had electrodes stuck to his chest, monitoring his heart rate. He heard a faint beeping sound from a machine beside his bed. He suddenly realised that he was home. This was his bedroom in his grandma’s house.

He searched for his phone, hoping to call his dad. He found it on the nightstand, but it was cracked and dead. He cursed, feeling a headache coming up. The door suddenly opened and his family rushed into the room. They all looked relieved and overjoyed to see him awake.

"Oh, my poor baby. You had this old soul worried half to death," said Nana Qie hugging him tight almost suffocating him to death.

Grandma Wen was no exception. She hugged him, kissed him, and showered him with words of love and concern. Qie Xieling just let them do as they pleased because he knew how worried they must have been.

"Okay, don’t suffocate him," said Wen Qinxi wiggling his way through the tight gap and hugging his son. He told himself that he wouldn’t cry but damn it, he couldn’t control it. He clutched his son’s clothes tightly with tears flowing down his face. His tears were quite infectious affecting the two old ladies even Wen Danzhe as well.

Qie Ranzhe left to call Machu over to come take a look but the moment he cut the call the emotions he had been suppressing sprung up like a geyser gushing out.

"Ran Ran!" his mother called out so he hastily wiped away his tears.

"Mom," he answered before entering his son’s room. His mother beckoned him over to hug his son.

He immediately hugged him and Qie Xieling started crying and complaining to him. Qie Ranzhe stroked his hair trying to comfort him but he was also an emotional mess.
