Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 542: Final fight
Master Zi saw that Qie Xieling was actually keeping up with him which wasn’t what he expected considering that he was injured. He thought he would be slower but this ger was still as fast as before. He decided that he needed to get that sword out of his hands.
He reached into his belt and produced a chain sickle with a long chain. He threw it at Qie Xieling’s sword. Qie Xieling saw the chain sickle coming and tried to dodge it, but it was too late. The chain coiled around his sword, and Master Zi pulled with all his might.
Qie Xieling stood his ground. He anchored his feet onto the floor and lowered his centre of gravity refusing to let go of his sword. He felt a surge of pain in his injured arm, but he ignored it. He pulled back, trying to free his sword from the chain. Master Zi took advantage of the situation and lunged forward with the sabre, aiming for Qie Xieling’s chest.
Qie Xieling dodged to the side but lost his grip on his sword. The sword flew out of his hand, landing on the ground several feet away. Qie Xieling was now unarmed, and Master Zi was closing in on him but he did not panic. He reached into his wrist brace and took out six flying daggers. He tossed them at Master Zi, hoping to hit him or at least distract him.
Master Zi spun in the air, avoiding the daggers. He landed on his feet and smiled. "Who would have thought you still have some fight in you? But in the end, you will lose!"
He raised his sabre, ready to deliver the final blow. Qie Xieling slid onto the platform floor and grabbed his long sword before Master Zi could slash at him with his sabre. He swung his sword, only for the chain sickle to be swung at him. He dodged but got cut on his abdomen. Blood trickling, he gritted his teeth, struggling to get up.
The crowd gasped in horror and Luo Muchen abruptly got up. He was at the edge of his seat nervous out of his mind. When he saw where Master Zi had injured Qie Xieling he gritted his teeth and wanted to get on that platform and beat Master Zi to death. The elders were also worried because they also knew that this was Qie Xieling’s fight alone.
"Stay there you dog. This is I and your master’s business," he said and Luo Muchen lunged forward in anger. Jolie immediately stopped him while saying, "Don’t worry. After we get out of this arena I will slice him up a thousand times as payback."
Master Zi smirked, seeing Qie Xieling’s wound. He knew he had the upper hand. Qie Xieling felt a sharp pain, and then a wave of dizziness. He realised there was poison on the sickle. He bit his lower lip hard till it bled, to keep him from passing out. His knees weakened and he fell to the ground in a half kneel.
"Come on, get up... Is that all you got, huh?" he said taunting Qie Xieling. Qie Xieling was worried for the baby. He pressed his abdomen having realised it wasn’t that serious. As for the poison, physician Jong had given him some elixirs in anticipation that Master Zi would play this kind of trick. He gritted his teeth and got up on his feet.
He lunged forward and Master Zi’s brows twitched. This kid was like a roach. He wasn’t easy to kill. Qie Xieling managed to disarm Master Zi with great difficulty.
Master Zi tried to grab his sickle that had fallen but Qie Xieling grabbed his neck, strangling him. Qie Xieling tightened his grip on Master Zi’s neck, feeling his pulse weaken. There was no need to kill him yet. He just wanted to humiliate him.
But Master Zi was not ready to give up. He gathered his remaining strength and elbowed Qie Xieling in the ribs, making him gasp in pain. He then kicked him hard in the chest, sending him flying to the edge of the platform.
More than half of Qie Xieling’s body was dangling at the edge of the platform. Master Zi staggered to his feet, clutching his throat. He glared at Qie Xieling with a menacing gaze, as if he wanted to burn him alive. He slowly walked over to him, his sabre in his hand. He raised his foot to kick him off the platform, ending the fight once and for all.
"You... stupid... piece... of trash," he said and with each pause, he kicked Qie Xieling. Never in his life had he been this humiliated. He had brought down that clown King without breaking a sweat yet this kid had the balls to strangle him in front of everyone.
But Qie Xieling was not done yet. He had one last trick up his sleeve. He pretended to be unconscious, waiting for the right moment. As Master Zi’s foot came down, he suddenly moved fast and grabbed his ankle, twisting it. Master Zi lost his balance and fell off the platform, the sabre flying out of his hand. He hit the wall with a loud thud, leaving a huge dent. He lay there motionless for a second in disbelief.
Qie Xieling picked it up and held it high. His gaze was hazy and he was losing a lot of blood but he didn’t even notice. The crowd cheered in excitement calling him king. No one knows who started the chant but it spread through the arena. Qie Xieling had undoubtedly worn people’s hearts. The masters sitting high above everyone else instantly became nervous. They didn’t know if they should scatter now and prepare for the worst.
Qie Xieling couldn’t hold back anymore. He suddenly swayed uncontrollably before falling backwards but before he hit the ground Luo Muchen caught him and he fell into his arms.
"Lin Lin!... Lin Lin!"
He heard Luo Muchen calling out to him with pain in his voice but it grew distant the more he tried to speak and comfort him. His eyes suddenly went black and his ears were ringing.
