Apocalypse Lord-Chapter 71 - 69: Fellow Countrymen, Open the Door
Eleanor wasn’t sure if that was an illusion.
The moment of passing through the Light Gate seemed stretched out, chaotic senses interfering with her sanity.
That silhouette endlessly heightened, appearing grander than mountains, deeper than the sea... It cast a gaze of pity, ’death’ was silent within that gaze and then voluntarily retreated from her body.
Accept the blessing... Accept the blessing...
Unknowingly, she had embraced that infinite light, Eleanor suddenly came to her senses, and those vertical pupils rarely showed signs of tension.
She focused her gaze, and before her was still the gentle-eyed gray-haired boy.
Eleanor slightly sighed with relief, instinctively recalling that moment, only to find the memory fading like a dream’s quicksand, leaving only mottled, vague light shadows in her mind.
Roland indeed possesses strange, bizarre racial abilities... What is this guy’s background...
"Captain... I’m feeling a bit dizzy..."
The blond Witch’s hum echoed in her ears, looking down, Lucia clung to her long leg like a koala.
"Hang in there, and don’t throw up on me."
Seeing the First Mate was safe, Eleanor also set her mind at ease, and immediately, she was completely captivated by the scene ahead.
Red Moon, giant walls, starlit skies, bustling metropolis.
The ancient, decaying scent pierced her nostrils, neon both thick and dazzling, starlight licked the glamorous cities, most importantly, she saw the treasure ship she had always dreamed of!
The ’Angel’s Right Eye’ produced by Celestial Principle Company ultimately directed her to the Space Ladder, as if destined.
"Is that the ’Plumbum White’ you mentioned?"
Lin Lan stood beside Eleanor, looking at the giant ship embedded in the deepest part of the Space Ladder, asking, "I remember it’s the Empire Princess’s navigation ship, right?"
"Absolutely right!"
Eleanor licked her lips: "Before his death, the Black Emperor entrusted all his collected treasures to Princess Valentina, causing that ship’s power to surpass everyone’s imagination."
"The Mad Emperor’s daughter inherited her father’s will, too many New Empire ships were sunk by that Legendary Navigator’s hands."
"Plumbum White was once wanted and besieged by the New Empire, but that ship never suffered a defeat, even the Night Owl Hunters who assassinated the Mad Emperor couldn’t catch up with that mysterious navigation ship."
Eleanor concluded: "It wasn’t until a hundred years later that Plumbum White restrained its edge, navigators speculate the princess died of old age aboard it, only then did they dare to seek her again."
An Alliance painter had once personally witnessed the Empire Princess’s ferocious image.
He survived and immortalized that scene in his work.
The leader wearing a dark black Empire naval uniform stood at the prow of the seven-masted giant ship, head held high, single-handedly adjusting her cap, coldly gazing down upon the mountain of corpses and sea of blood piling beneath the ship.
A setting sun fell behind her, dyeing her cape and long hair red.
That painting was auctioned for an astronomical price.
Lin Lan seemed lost in thought.
The Black Emperor once declared war on the ’nonexistent’ Gods under the name of ’All-Knowing Celestial Principle’, his daughter’s navigation ship ultimately fell toward Celestial Principle Company’s Ideal City.
One clue after another is being pieced together.
Lin Lan looked at Eleanor, his tone slightly hopeful: "Do you have a way to quickly retrieve it?"
"Are you kidding..."
Eleanor stared into the eyes of the gray-haired boy, her expression peculiar: "We are in the deepest part of the Star Calamity, who knows how deep this Gray Realm is, rushing in, even with a few Doragon People wouldn’t be enough to fend off the starlight!"
"Alright, I just said it casually..."
The next moment, an eerie screech suddenly resounded in their ears!
Eleanor and Lucia’s expressions were tense, though they could somewhat tell, the area covered by moonlight was a safe haven.
Threads and streaks of starlight slowly wriggled from the top of the Space Ladder toward the giant walls, the swarm was searching for something, yet found nothing under the moonlight’s cover.
Those roars inexplicably carried a sense of exasperated grief.
"Roland, how much of their stuff did you actually steal?" Lucia lightly elbowed Lin Lan’s waist.
"Heh heh heh, what do you mean ’theirs’?"
Lin Lan rubbed his hands, looking at the starlight, his smile akin to a thug invading a good citizen’s home: "The treasures in the city, once picked up, become ours!"
Lucia: ...
"I agree with this approach, I really like you more and more!"
Eleanor forcefully swung her tail, examining the complex layered city, the Pirate Leader was already excited.
It fits my profession perfectly.
"By the way, before plundering resources, you guys might need this."
Lin Lan took out two light gold polyhedral crystals from his pocket and tossed them over to the two.
"What’s this?" Lucia held the Crystal Stone, her eyes full of curiosity.
"It’s called the Philosopher’s Stone, it helps you ’see’ and ’touch’ the true essence of the Celestial Calamity."
Lin Lan explained succinctly: "With its aid, creatures can see those dangerous starlight insect swarms, and then find ways to avoid them."
Thanks to the contributions of Alliance merchants, Lin Lan barely managed to craft several Fake Philosopher’s Stones.
"Interesting... I’ll keep this favor."
Eleanor graciously clenched the beautiful crystal with distinct edges: "Lucia and I are unfamiliar with this place, we’ll follow your lead on what to do next, do we have a target?"
"I plan to first empty the factory producing bionic mechanical constructs."
Lin Lan said decisively, he looked at the always quiet Mechanical Servant girl: "After all, Bai is someone I pulled out from a factory..."
Unknowingly, the breath of the blond Witch became more and more rapid.
"You mean..."
Lucia tightly gripped Lin Lan’s clothes, looking up, her big eyes full of yearning: "There are more mechanical constructs waiting for me to assemble by hand?!"
"Of course."
Lin Lan smiled: "Haven’t you already seen the torsos and mechanical right arms in the warehouse?"
"I originally thought those were all..."
Lucia murmured, her eyes growing brighter, mechanical engineering combined with Gray Realm adventures, how could there be such a blissful thing in this world!!
This is why I used a Gear Bomb to blow open the academy doors and fled the Alliance!
Now it seems that the ’Apocalypse Ark’ crafted by Roland is truly the place to stretch my talents!
Eleanor then scrutinized the white-haired maid beside her, suddenly thinking of those bloodless and emotionless iron-faced soldiers in the Imperial Legion.
"Seems like some strange lumps of iron are about to emerge in this world again."
Her smile was inexpressibly joyful: "But these lumps of iron are all ours!"
Moonlight gently moved their shadows, as if also blessing and agreeing with their words.
"Follow me, I’m already very familiar with this area."
Lin Lan’s eyes sparkled brightly, looking at the starlight ravaging the city, his smile grew ever more amiable.
Dear bug comrades, I’m coming in again~
