Chapter 540: I yield..."

Qie Xieling jumped off the platform and glanced at Zhang Hua, who was being helped up. He had nothing to say to this person. He just walked past him without a word. Zhang Hua felt so humiliated but he couldn’t do anything about it right now. He just clenched his fist before angrily walking out of the arena. He had already been disqualified so what was the point of staying here to be laughed at?

Qie Xieling sat down waiting for this round to finish. He took out some medicinal powder and silk gauze. He grabbed his sleeve and tore it with great strength to get to the wound.

Bi Yize reached out to help him but Qie Xieling glared at him his attitude clear. Bi Yize could only retract his hand and watch Qie Xieling dress his wound.

Qie Xieling sucked in a breath of cold air while sprinkling the medicinal powder on his arm. He bit his lower lip while looking away his eyes shut. When the stinging pain subsided, he wrapped it with the gauze using his teeth to tie a knot.

After he was done he sat upright only to be met with Lee Ya’s face inches next to his.

"Geez!" he exclaimed and Lee Ya smirked.

"I could have helped you with that," she said before pulling back. Qie Xieling had long realised that Lee Ya was only acting this way to infuriate Luo Muchen. He hoped she would be knocked out in the next round otherwise his husband would die from anger.

As though the heavens had heard him Lee Ya was brutally defeated by Zhang Wei another female disciple from the Zhang family. She had seen how close Lee Ya was to Qie Xieling and to avenge their Young Master she was especially ruthless and disobeyed orders.

Lee Ya was extremely livid but she could only swallow her anger. One by one the competitors fell and soon it was only two people left.

It was Qie Xieling and Bi Yize. If Zhang Hua hadn’t been defeated these two titans would have been the ones facing off. Qie Xieling stood up and walked up the platform his demeanor calm.

He was ready to finally end this and go home. He couldn’t wait to go back to bed and cuddle with his husband. He unsheathed his sword ready to start but Bi Yize didn’t draw his sword. "I yield. You win, Xieling."

Qie Xieling, "..."

He stopped his sword mid-swing, staring at Bi Yize with suspicion and contempt. His first thought was that Bi Yize was belittling him or something like that.

"What the hell are you doing? Am I not worthy to fight you?" said Qie Xieling with a sneer.

Bi Yize shook his head, his eyes filled with sadness. Ever since he overheard what Qie Xieling said to himself his heart hurt even more. Not only did Qie Xieling get married but he also got pregnant.

It made him feel sour inside. In as much as he hated Luo Muchen he didn’t want anything to happen to the baby in his belly while fighting. He also knew he owed Qie Xieling after deserting him in the brothel.

"No, I owe you this much," he said struggling to find the right words.

"You owe me? For what?" Qie Xieling asked, his voice trembling with rage. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

"I shouldn’t have betrayed you." Bi Yize said, lowering his voice. " I should have protected you well. You trusted me and I was a coward. This is me repaying my debt and making up for my past transgressions."

Qie Xieling snorted coldly before saying, "You think this would absolve you from the past? You are dreaming."

"I don’t expect you to forgive me," he said before leaping off the platform. The audience was in an uproar. Some were celebrating Qie Xieling’s victory while others booed in dissatisfaction. They wanted a bloody and brutal fight but before the fight could even begin Bi Yize yielded. It wasn’t satisfying.

The host was about to announce the winner when Master Zi suddenly entered the arena. When Bi Yize yielded he came down quickly before the elders could react.

He stopped the host from announcing Qie Xieling’s win and Elder Xuan who had planned this from the beginning showed a slight smile. This was what they had planned.

Qie Xieling had to fight Master Zi and bring him down from his high horse in front of everybody. That was just the first step in their plan and Master Zi was cocky right now because to him Qie Xieling was already exhausted and injured so he would be easy to beat but that was far from the truth.

"How can this be considered a win if he conceded easily?" said Master Zi the moment he stepped on the platform. Those who wanted to see a bloody battle booed loudly their uproar almost causing tremors throughout the arena.

Master Zi was very pleased with the people’s reaction. He raised his hand to gesturing for them to quiet down. "It is unfair to all these fine folks, don’t you think?" he continued to say and Qie Xieling responded,

"Then what is your suggestion? Is there a disciple Master Zi would like to take Young Master Bi’s place?"

Master Zi was pleased to see that Qie Xieling didn’t put up a fight. "A disciple no... that wouldn’t be fair to the other disciples."

"Then who?" asked Qie Xieling with a hint of impatience in his voice.

Master Zi untied the knot of his cloak and a servant hurriedly got on the platform and pulled off the cloak. Another servant handed him his sabre. Master Zi unsheathed the sabre and on its blade were the characters "Dark Blood". It was the late Grand King’s sabre which was to be awarded to the winner.

There was a reason that he had brought out this sabre. Besides exerting his superiority it was to belittle Qie Xieling like he wasn’t worthy of his grandfather’s sabre or position.

"How about you fight me?" he asked as he walked slowly his gaze intense like a beast on the prowl.

Qie Xieling moved in the opposite direction while laughing softly. "What will it benefit me?"
