Chapter 53: ....A very considerate deskmate

Qie Xieling and Bo Ailun laughed softly hearing her say this. Qie Xielin lowered his head and took another bite of the braised pork ribs deliberately skipping over the stir-fried green beans.

While he was chewing slowly, a plate was suddenly placed opposite him and Luo Muchen sat down with his gaze fixed on him. Qie Xieling looked up and met Luo Muchen’s gaze for a second before lowering his head again.

Lee Ya felt slight annoyance thus she couldn’t resist saying, "Why do you have to sit here? I thought you would sit with your new friends," glancing in the direction of the group of guys and girls he walked in with.

Luo Muchen didn’t respond to her. He just glanced at Qie Xieling’s plate before meeting Qie Xieling’s gaze again.

Qie Xieling smiled while pushing his plate over. "Classmate Muchen, if you didn’t have me what would you do, huh? You walked too slow and now you are stuck eating vegetables. Here take as many as you want," he said and the two people sitting with them had their mouths wide open hearing this.

Luo Muchen didn’t necessarily feel like eating meat today. He just felt like eating some stir-fried vegetables but hearing that Qie Xieling was thinking of him how could he not be happy?

"You sure?" he asked his chopsticks raised halfway.

Qie Xieling pushed the plate forward while answering, "Yes yes sure."

Luo Muchen took one but Qie Xieling urged him on. "Come on. Take as much as you want. I got the extra portion just for you," said Qie Xieling and Luo Muchen was a little suspicious. Bo Ailun couldn’t stand it as well. He squinted his eyes as he turned his body to look straight at Qie Xieling. Since when was Qie Xieling considerate to anyone more especially Luo Muchen? That’s right. The answer was never.

"Thank you," said Luo Muchen after taking a few more pieces.

Qie Xieling smiled lightly while pulling back the plate. The four of them ate in silence for a while before Qie Xieling said, "I am very considerate to my deskmate. Aren’t I, Chubs?"

Bo Ailun, "..."

He couldn’t open his mouth for a second wondering what kind of game Qie Xieling was playing at.

"Right, bestie?" said Qie Xieling through gritted teeth giving him a side-eye. Bo Ailun pulled his blazer and cleared his throat before agreeing with whatever it is Qie Xieling was talking about.

"Yes, yes he is... a very considerate deskmate," he said before turning his head away while whispering, "except refusing to share his food."

"Here, geez," said Qie Xieling while gently pushing his plate over to Bo Ailun and Bo Ailun’s eyes beamed with stars around him as he helped himself.

Qie Xieling’s gentle yet unsettling smile returned as he continued to say. "I will be so good to you as a deskmate that you will never wish for anyone better to share your space with," said Qie Xieling but in as much as Luo Muchen wanted to be happy he knew that this was all a setup. Qie Xieling could only be what others refer to as a smiling tiger. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

"Okay," he said before lowering his head to continue to eat. "The braised pork ribs are especially sweet," he said his foot underneath the table a few inches from Qie Xieling’s.

He subconsciously moved his foot a few inches forward. Just a touch was all he wanted but just before he could touch him Qie Xieling moved his feet back.

His blood that was surging from the excitement instantly cooled as he licked his lips and drew his foot back. Luo Muchen absent-mindedly showed a rare sugary sweet smile that not even Qie Xieling had seen before.

"Wah!" exclaimed Bo Ailun as he took a picture of this exact moment. The young man had his eyes lowered, the lighting was perfect clearly showcasing the youthful charm of a teenage boy on the verge of discovering love for the first time.

When Luo Muchen turned his head and met the back of Bo Ailun’s cartoon piggy phone case the smile on his face fell.

"Delete it," he said his tone so domineering that if he didn’t do it Luo Muchen would make him miserable.

"Okay, okay... no need to be angry," said Bo Ailun almost shitting his pants at this point. Qie Xieling came out of his trance at that very moment and before Bo Ailun could delete it he stood up and almost leaped over the table to get that cell phone.

"Lin Lin," called out Luo Muchen trying to grab him but he couldn’t be as domineering as he was to Bo Ailun. This is what others might call double standards.

With the cell phone in hand, he ran away with it and Bo Ailun didn’t want to be left behind with this wolf in sheep’s clothing so he picked up his plate and Qie Xieling’s before running after him.

Lee Ya just rolled her eyes before getting up. How she wished she could tell Luo Muchen the truth about his mother and watch the despair on his stupid face. She had already promised her mother not to say anything but it was really killing her inside.

Luo Muchen didn’t have any appetite anymore. It didn’t take long before he reached the classroom. Qie Xieling noticed him coming in so he said, "Oh there he is. We thought you would never get here. You took your sweet precious time eating, didn’t you?"

Luo Muchen, "..."

"The picture?" he asked and Qie Xieling raised Bo Ailun’s cell phone showing off the gallery before saying,

"Classmate Muchen, it’s deleted. Why are you fussing over this so much? Look, you can check."

Luo Muchen glanced at Qie Xieling before looking at the cell phone. He could clearly see there was no picture of him on that cell phone but he happened to notice other pictures of Qie Xieling and Bo Ailun together with their heads pressed so close.

Luo Muchen felt like he had been punched in the gut seeing that. He was so envious of Bo Ailun. He could take pictures with Qie Xieling or hang out with him whenever he wanted yet they met him at the same time.

Just the thought of it made him incredibly upset and he didn’t know how to process his emotions correctly.
