Chapter 51: "You dare!"

Qie Xieling could feel a burning gaze on the side of his face but he kept his face looking forward determined to ignore Luo Muchen.

Luo Muchen was sitting in a sprawled manner with his legs stretched out carelessly in different directions while flipping a pen in between his fingers. The entire time he was looking at Qie Xieling and he didn’t even care that others would catch him staring.

At some point Qie Xieling couldn’t stand it anymore so he came up with an absurd idea. He leaned down on his desk and rubbed his temple with his middle finger in Luo Muchen’s full view.

Luo Muchen couldn’t help but avert his gaze and showed a slight smile. At least that got him to stop looking.

"Qie Xieling is it?" said Teacher Zhu pulling down his rimless eyeglasses.

Qie Xieling who was caught with his middle finger on his temple straightened his back before getting up. "Ye-yes ahem," he stammered before clearing his throat.

"Come up and distribute these to the class," said teacher Zhu referring to the books with an outline of their entire syllabus and rule book.

"Sir, can’t we just take one and pass it along?" he said but teacher Zhu curled his fingers beckoning him over.

Qie Xieling had no choice but to walk up to the podium and gather all the books. Just as he placed the first book on the first desk, the classroom door opened and a short woman with an air of an intellectual professor walked and said, "Teacher Zhu can I talk to you for a minute."

Qie Xieling glanced at the open door and saw Lee Ya standing outside next to the female teacher.

His brow arched as he continued to hand out the books. When he finally got to the back of the class he met Luo Muchen’s gaze and sighed. He might as well get over and done with it so he walked over and placed the books on Luo Muchen’s desk.

Luo Muchen whispered, "Thank you," and Qie Xieling walked off but just after taking two steps Luo Muchen grabbed his hand and pulled him back before saying, "Do you want me to carry you here or would you rather I come over and sit there?"

Qie Xieling’s heart lurched and for a moment he honestly thought Luo Muchen would do it but after thinking it through he most definitely wouldn’t, right?

He sneered before saying, "You dare?" The two locked gazes for a while until the door opened and teacher Zhu came back in. Luo Muchen let go of Qie Xieling’s hand and Qie Xieling went to sit down happily.

"You can sit anywhere you like," he said to Lee Ya before turning to Qie Xieling and continuing to say, "Thank you for your assistance Xieling."

Qie Xieling however wasn’t paying attention. He was following Lee Ya with his gaze.

Bo Ailun leaned in close and whispered, "Do you think she was the one whose mother was fighting for her to get into class one?"

"Don’t know," he said while pulling the chair in front of him for Lee Ya.

Seeing this Lee Ya smiled shyly and walked over. She placed her pencil case and notepad on the desk while whispering, "Hey," before sitting down.

Qie Xieling just smiled back as he pulled his chair forward to sit properly. She rubbed her shoulders while looking back and said, "It’s a bit chilly inside, isn’t it."

Bo Ailun glanced at the display screen behind them and noticed it was a perfect twenty-four degrees Celsius.

"Nah, it’s twenty four," replied Bo Ailun before flipping through the rule book.

Qie Xieling leaned in closer with a tiger smile and asked, "Ya Ya, do you want my school blazer? It’s warm."

Lee Ya looked back at him while tucking her stray strands behind her ear and said, "I have my own but if you want you can give me yours."

A loud cracking sound ripped through the classroom with whispering students but no one knew where it came from.

Luo Muchen slowly unclenched his fists revealing a shattered pen broken in two places. He exhaled lightly trying to minimize the trembling of his fingers.

The two girls in front of him looked back but seeing that stony yet charming face they blushed and looked away.

"Xieling since you like talking so much how about you come read out the rules of the school,?" said teacher Zhu having noticed Qie Xieling chatting it up with the new girl.

Qie Xieling, "..."

Damn, he was really going to be his teacher’s favourite person to pick on just like how teacher Wong used to pick on him.

Qie Xieling got up reluctantly and stood at the podium. When he opened the rule book his jaw dropped. First of all, he hated reading and second of all, there were over a hundred rules in here. Fine, he was exaggerating a little bit but still.

"Sir, you are quite good-looking, do you know that?" he said and the girls in the class giggled. Well, he wasn’t lying. This man was a very handsome ahjussi with a brawny yet nerdy appearance. The tattoo on his arm gave him bad boy vibes that the female teachers pinned over.

"Flattery won’t work. You better start reading," he said as he sat at the corner of the teacher’s desk in front.

The entire class broke down in laughter and Qie Xieling pouted his lips while subconsciously glancing at Luo Muchen. Luo Muchen mouthed, "You can do it," with a bright smile. Qie Xieling almost rolled his eyes as he looked back at the rule book.

Twenty five rules in and the bell rang for the second time and teacher Zhu finally moved. He stood up while saying, "Good job, you can go and sit down. You have twenty minutes of recess before your Chinese class teacher comes in so spend it wisely."

Qie Xieling felt like his mouth was dry from all the talking thus he sat down and took out the very same flask Luo Muchen gave to him except that this time it now had a waterproof sticker of venom on it.

"Dage, you read so well. I felt like the rules were sinking deep into my mind and merging with my brain cells," said Bo Ailun and Qie Xieling nudged him while drinking the icy lemon water from the flask.
