Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 42: ...I am her fiance."
He looked like he didn’t want to be there with her but he had no choice. Bi Yu, on the other hand, was so excited that she was taking pictures and tried to hold his hand several times but her son kept his hands in his pockets which wasn’t like him.
She wanted to snoop on her son so badly that she decided not to leave. She suspected that at the end of the evening, he would come out with the girl he likes. That way she will finally know her son’s little secret.
The problem with this plan was that she was starting to look like a crazy lady sitting in the car waiting to catch her husband having an affair.
She turned off the headlights of her car and tried to look as inconspicuous as ever. While she was turning on her stereo to play some songs via Bluetooth, her window was suddenly knocked.
When she looked she found that it was Bi Yu’s mother. Since their kids were going to the dance together they had to be acquainted.
She didn’t like this woman in the slightest. That’s because when Mrs Bi found out who Luo Shih was she would try to talk about her business ideas and investment opportunities. This irked Luo Shih so much that she wished she could be rid of her.
Luo Shih tried to smile at her and waved insinuating that they were only going to say hi to each other through the window glass and move on but that wasn’t the case.
Mrs Bi made a gesture with her finger for her to roll down the window and the smile on Luo Shih’s face froze. She reluctantly rolled down the window and that bubbly high pitched voice of Mrs Bi came through.
"Hie... oh the kids looked lovely today. It was like their engagement," she said and Luo Shih let out a soft brittle laugh with no real humour or happiness.
"Are you waiting for them to come out? Can we wait together?" she asked before raising her bag, "I brought wine and spring rolls."
Luo Shih was quite hesitant. She rubbed the back of her neck while saying, "Um... I uh..."
Before she could find an excuse her other window was knocked on and both of them turned in that direction.
Luo Shih’s eyes widened as she stared at the person who just showed up out of nowhere. She had to pick the lesser evil and in this case, it was Hei Xiwen. At least with him, she wouldn’t have to endure hours of endless chatter about making business deals.
She opened the door and Hei Xiwen who could easily read the situation acted quickly.
"Hey baby, I brought everything you asked for," he said as he sat in the car beside her. He kissed her cheek and acted all surprised when he saw the auntie standing at the car window.
"Oh, who is this?" He asked and Luo Shih finally got out of the stupor from being kissed just now and said,
"Oh um... that’s Bi Yu’s mum. The girl Mu Mu went with to the dance... Mrs Bi, this is my-."
Hei Xiwen cut her off stretching out his hand to shake hers while introducing himself. "Fiance. I am her fiance. Don’t we look good together?"
Luo Shih, "WTF!!"
Not friend, not boyfriend but straight to fiance. How bold.
"Nice nice meeting you. Since you have company, I will be going then," she replied as Hei Xiwen let go of her hand.
"Can we meet up sometime? It would be great to have some coff-," she said only to see the man from before pulling Luo Shih and kissing her lips passionately like he couldn’t wait to take off her clothes right then and there.
Mrs Bi, "..."
Feeling quite embarrassed she walked away faster glancing back once or twice. Luo Shih pushed him away but he held on to her shoulders tightly and whispered, "She is still watching."
Luo Shih stopped struggling but she couldn’t wait to beat the shit out of him. When he finally let her go though, she was a muddled mess with no fighting spirit left in her. Hei Xiwen stared into her amber eyes and whispered, "So beautiful."
Luo Shih came out of her stupor and looked away while fixing her hair which had been dishevelled when he was putting his hands in there.
"Why are you here?" she asked and Hei Xiwen who couldn’t stop staring at her replied,
"My nephew goes to this school. She told me about the senior dance so I knew you would need my company... It’s just that I was waiting for you to leave the school premises so I could catch up with you at your house or wherever you were go-."
Luo Shih cut him off and said, "So you were going to stalk me around town? What if I was going to the bar or on a date."
Hei Xiwen’s chest felt like there were a ton of boulders pressing him down when he heard this. The smile on his face stiffened and for a minute or two he couldn’t respond. "Yes, at least that way I would make sure you are safe. I feel ill at ease when you don’t even have your driver with you," he said his gaze shifting away from her.
He honestly thought Luo Shih was going to kick him out but instead, she said, "What did you bring for me? I am starving."
Hei Xiwen suppressed the smile creeping up his face as he happily opened the shopping bag.
"I brought you caramel pecanbon and sparkling water. I had to stand in a queue for it," he said with a face that seemed to be begging for praise. He didn’t even use criminal means to skip the queue or send his underlings to buy it. Wasn’t that progress?
Luo Shih wanted to give him a hard time but she couldn’t resist in the end. She stretched out her hand and he gave it to her.
"Thanks," she said but Hei Xiwen didn’t want to hear that. He would rather she kissed him again.
While Hei Xiwen was trying to romance his ex, Luo Muchen was regretting bringing Bi Yu to the dance. That’s because she now had a reasonable excuse to stick to him and he couldn’t go looking for Qie Xieling. That’s because Qie Xieling wasn’t really here for the dance but he was here to start trouble for no reason thus he was nowhere to be found.
