Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 39: "You like someone? Who is it?....
After He Xiwen left and even closed the door behind him, Luo Muchen turned to his mother who was straightening out her clothes and asked, "How did he even get in here?"
That in itself was a mystery for Luo Shih. Each time he did this she would look through the surveillance to find out how he got in. They would improve security in that aspect but time and time again he would find loopholes and take advantage of it.
If he can’t succeed he would find her outside the company and try and convince her to be together again. Luo Shih pulled her hair back and said, "Don’t worry about it. Even if he comes back he won’t hurt me anyway."
Luo Muchen knew that but if his mother didn’t want to see Hei Xiwen something would have to be done. He sat down on the couch after placing his school bag neatly on the side.
With his head laying on the backrest of the couch he sighed deeply. Luo Shih wanted to run her fingers through his soft hair but when she recalled the shameless things she did with Hei Xiwen before, she decided to go wash her hands in the bathroom.
"What’s eating you?" she asked with the sound of trickling water in the background.
Luo Muchen didn’t answer. He had closed his eyes to relax but all he could see was Qie Xieling’s face. He couldn’t help but recall his cute smile and his exact expressions when he laughed his heart out at a joke. Every word that Qie Xieling said to him was manuscript on his heart like the carvings on a stone tablet.
He couldn’t help but drift away into a zone of his own fantasising that each action taken by Qie Xieling was to show him his liking of him. A set of fingers slowly ran through his hair and so he opened his eyes and found his mother looking down at him.
"If anything is bothering you you can tell me," she said and Luo Muchen sat up properly. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
Luo Shih walked around the couch and sat next to him. She held up his chin and scrutinised his lips carefully.
"What happened?" she asked while touching it, "does it hurt?"
It hurt a little when she touched it with her thumb. Luo Muchen removed her finger and said, "I bumped into someone hard and bruised my lip," he answered honestly.
Luo Shih got up to take out some medicine from the first aid kit while asking, "Did you have fun though?"
Luo Muchen pinched the bridge of his nose before saying, "I think I am sick."
Luo Shih instantly wore a worried expression. She reached out towards the desk to pick up her cell phone and call the family doctor. "I will call the doctor for you. Where does it hurt," she said looking through her contacts for the doctor’s number.
Luo Muchen pressed on his stomach and said, "The symptoms are all over the place. Sometimes it’s my tummy. It feels like something is clawing at it. It’s like a sharp pang that lasts for a short time."
Luo Shih sat down next to him and checked his temperature as he continued, "Sometimes it’s my chest. It feels like something is pressing against it hard and my heart is beating fast. My face and ears get hot sometimes but the feeling doesn’t last long."
Luo Shih, "..."
This brat wasn’t sick at all. She turned to him and asked, "Does it happen when you are around one person or when you glance at them?"
Luo Muchen was a little surprised that she came to that conclusion all on her own. His expression said everything so Luo Shih cut the call she was already dialling and asked him, "You like someone? Who is it? Is she in your class?"
Luo Muchen’s lips parted like he was about to say something before he shut his mouth. Actually, he wanted to deny that he liked Qie Xieling like that but his body’s reaction couldn’t be hidden. How was that possible? He always liked being friends with Qie Xieling but it never crossed his mind that he wanted more than just that. His expression was so bad that Luo Shih was now curious as to who her son’s first crush was.
"Who is it? Tell me all about her," she said scooching closer to hear. Luo Muchen was never going to tell no matter how his mother tried to convince him to spill the tea.
"Are you sure I like them?" he said and Luo Shih almost rolled her eyes. She had past experience when it came to such things so she knew her son had feelings for someone. As to who it was she needed to research everything about them and make sure her son wouldn’t be deceived or fall in love with a slag girl.
"If you want I can call the family doctor and he can take a look at you to confirm that you aren’t sick but just a love-struck fool," she said while ruffling his hair.
Luo Muchen was so in shock that he agreed to have the doctor examine him. His cell phone made a dinging sound as a message came through. He swiped down the notification and found that it was a message from Qie Xieling. He smiled imperceptibly but Luo Shih saw it.
If she wasn’t curious then she was absolutely curious now. She wanted to know what type of person this girl was and how she managed to impress her son.
"Who is it?" she asked leaning forward to take a look but Luo Muchen dodged away and said, "What time are we going home?" While saying this he packed away his cell phone. He couldn’t reply now especially when his mother was looking over his shoulder.
Luo Shih was a little disappointed. She still wanted to know who it was that he was interested in. This was very easy to find out. She was one call away from knowing the truth or at least she thought so.
