Chapter 198: Catcalling bae

Qie Xieling found it amusing. He looked so cute when he acted like this. With a click, the cuffs were unlocked and Qie Xieling got up while rubbing his wrist.

"You better take care of that first. Maybe a dip in the pool can cool you off," he said and King Luo felt rather ashamed when he glanced down at the tent pitched on his crotch.

Qie Xieling chuckled softly watching him stand up before going straight into the freezing pool.

Five minutes later the two of them were trying to figure out a way to get out. It didn’t take long before they found a door disguised through magic as a wall.

They climbed up the stairs with King Luo in front and Qie Xieling behind. He was doing it just in case there was trouble ahead. He needed to be able to protect Qie Xieling but it turns out that was a mistake because Qie Xieling wouldn’t stop catcalling him.

Qie Xieling just wanted to make fun of King Luo and tease him. He probably wouldn’t be able to do this to the real Luo Muchen but in the game, he wasn’t afraid to test his boundaries.

"I like the view. It’s quite impressive. I just want to grab them and squeeze just a little bit," said Qie Xieling the laughter in his eyes evident.

King Luo ignored him but he was so bashful with the tips of his ears red. Qie Xieling curled his fingers pretending like he was squeezing them when King Luo spun around and caught him in the act.

Qie Xieling chuckled while saying, "Don’t look at me like that. I am just messing with you." 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

King Luo turned his gaze back and another secret door opened leading them back to the treasure room. When they got there there was chaos. It seemed there was a second wave of attacks and this time it wasn’t only death knights but nightwalkers.

Nightwalkers were types of nightshade, a sentient undead monster from the plane of shadow, also known as Shadowfell. They took delight in the corruption and suffering of others.

They had the ability to turn humans they killed into undead creatures through the use of arcane rituals.

The air was thick with the overwhelming sickly sweet smell of dark magic. "Stay in the secret room until I come to get you," said King Luo. Before Qie Xieling could respond he was pushed back into the secret room.

After ensuring his safety King Luo strode into the cavernous treasure room. The walls, lined with glistening gold and ancient artefacts, pulsed under the relentless onslaught of the death knights and nightwalkers.

The room echoed with the shrieks and snarls of the spectral creatures, the clatter of steel, and the exhausted shouts of the three defending against them.

In the chaos, King Luo could make out the forms of Yunning and Jolie, their robes swirling around them as they summoned up their own sorcery, a formidable barrier of shimmering energy around them. Yet, even as they channelled their formidable powers, he could see their barrier flickering under the relentless assault. Boran was fighting off the creatures with his mighty greataxe, but even he was faltering under the ceaseless onslaught.

Despite the chaos, King Luo remained calm. His heart was steady as a drum, his gaze sharp and clear. He took a moment to survey the situation, his eyes flicking over the scene. Then, with a steely determination, he began to walk towards the fray, his steps resonating with a regal and tyrannical energy that seemed to ripple through the room.

The death knights and nightwalkers sensed his approach and turned their attention towards him. Their hollow eyes glowed with a cold, malicious light as they lunged at him. But as they drew closer, they seemed to recoil, as if struck by an invisible force.

Around King Luo, the air shimmered with a powerful aura. It was as if he was surrounded by a sun, a radiant force of such intensity that the creatures could not bear to approach. Those who dared were instantly reduced to shadows, their shrieks cut short as they disintegrated into nothingness.

With a firm hand and a stern voice, King Luo began to chant, his voice reverberating through the room. As the words spilt from his lips, a searing blue light spread from him, enveloping the room. The death knights and nightwalkers shrieked in terror as the light engulfed them, banishing them back to the Shadowfell from whence they came.

As the light faded, the room came back into focus. The ground was littered with shadowy remnants of the spectral creatures, the only evidence of the fierce battle that had taken place. Yunning, Jolie, and Boran stood in stunned silence, their eyes wide with awe and relief.

King Luo stood at the centre of it all, his aura still radiating with a quiet power. He looked at his companions, his gaze softening. "Are you all right?" he asked, his voice echoing through the now-quiet room. The battle was finally over.

Jolie fell to the ground in exhaustion. When she was done with this stupid game she was going to demand a list of things from Wen Qinxi. Who knew an AI could get exhausted?

"Where is Lin Lin?" she asked forgetting to change his name back to Eling.

King Luo turned back to where the secret wall was and found Qie Xieling sitting on the stairs playing with his pendant looking like a destitute.

"Let’s go," said King Luo after he realised that he was being ignored.

"Oh... I am not that weak you know. I am really good at fighting," said Qie Xieling feeling a little upset with the fact that everyone was treating him like porcelain and rightfully so.

He knew if he died it would be over for the four of them but still, he was a man and he should be able to defend himself.

"I know," replied King Luo helping him up.

When Qie Xieling got up to his feet he continued voicing his grievances.

"Just let me have my magic back. I promise I won’t run away," he said and King Luo averted his gaze while responding,

"We can talk about it later," his throat bobbing expressing his anxiety.

Qie Xieling was instantly pacified. He walked into the treasure room with a smile on his face. Compared to the others he seemed so refreshed like he was coming from having a vacation.

Everyone, "..."
