Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 181: "You are drooling."
Qie Xieling opened his eyes his mind in a foggy haze. He closed his eyes and glanced at the light rays seeping through the small gaps in the tent.
It took him a minute trying to figure out where he was. When he turned his head to the side he almost yelped out in fright. That was because Jolie was staring at him her eyes wide. She looked like Pennywise watching children from the opening of the storm drain. It was both creepy and unsettling.
"What?" he asked while moving away from her.
Jolie pointed at the corner of his lips and said, "You are drooling."
Qie Xieling, "..."
He hastily wiped the corner of his mouth as he sat up. "What happened?" he asked and Jolie pressed the back of her hand on his forehead as though checking his temperature.
"You got punished, don’t you remember?" he asked and Qie Xieling’s body suddenly shivered remembering the unfortunate ordeal from yesterday.
"You had me worried. I honestly thought you would be declared brain dead after that incident yesterday." Qie Xieling sighed as he lay back down. He didn’t like living like this. He hated living with restrictions in a stupid game and just wanted to go home.
"Do you want to eat something? Porridge perhaps... I made it myself," said Jolie smiling so happily like she had accomplished the most amazing thing in the world.
Qie Xieling was very skeptical but he still agreed. His tummy was already grumbling and there was this metallic taste in his mouth that made him feel very uncomfortable.
Jolie ran out of the tent and the two men sitting around the campfire turned to look at her.
"Is he awake?" asked Boran while King Luo looked up.
"Yep, and he is very hungry," she said before dishing out the most despicable poisonous-looking porridge from the cast iron pot on the campfire.
"Wait that is food? I thought it was a potion you made to kill your enemies," asked Boran his expression ugly like he had eaten something bitter. "I wouldn’t even wish that on my worst enemy."
"No, it’s a healthy porridge with all his daily requirements. It is not about the taste but the nutritious and health value of the meal." Jolie took the bowl back to the tent and Boran laughed.
"You would think the universe would be kind. He just passed out from an unknown ailment only for him to wake up and be spoon-fed poison," said Boran and King Luo glanced at the tent.
His heart ached for some reason. He just wanted to go in the tent and take a look but he resisted the urge.
Meanwhile, Qie Xieling was being force-fed like a toddler. When Qie Xieling saw that vile-looking green mess with a bubble bursting in the middle he felt like throwing up.
"Jolie, are you trying to kill me, is that it? I knew you had no good intentions from the beginning," he said and Jolie laughed like the wicked witch while coaxing him.
"This is not poison. If you don’t eat it your hunger bar will reach zero pretty soon and you will die. Now be good and eat," she said pushing the bowl towards him.
Qie Xieling dodged and Jolie sighed. He now understood how Qie Ranzhe felt while feeding Qie Xieling as a baby. He would play with his food in his mouth and spit it out spraying it everywhere even on his father’s neat suit.
The only way Qie Xieling would obey is when Wen Qinxi fed him. He was so obedient and cheerful like an innocent little cutie.
"No, that looks more like medicine. Yuck," he replied and Jolie took it very personally.
"If you don’t eat I will tell your father your little secret," said Jolie ready to snitch on him. The threat didn’t seem to work because Qie Xieling asked her,
"What secret? I have nothing to hide."
"Really? Are you sure about that?" said Jolie and the two stared at each other in a standoff. Qie Xieling was probably thinking about all his secret misdeeds that might get him into trouble. After weighing how angry his father would get when compared to the torture of eating this poison, he chose the poison.
"Fine, I will eat it," he said taking the bowl and Jolie happily ruffled his hair.
Qie Xieling took one spoon and he couldn’t even swallow it down. He was about to spit it out when his mouth and nose were closed by Jolie forcing him to swallow it.
When he swallowed it, Jolie let him go. After that horrible experience, Qie Xieling would rather get into trouble. This food was atrocious and hard to swallow.
"Eat eat," said Jolie and Qie Xieling pressed his lips into a thin line in refusal.
What could have Jolie done in this situation? She could have either patiently coaxed him or given up but no. She grabbed him and began force feeding him.
With both his arms restrained Qie Xieling was fed spoon by spoon. "Jolie, I am a fuckin adult. You can’t treat me like this."
"Well, then act like one and eat it," she said only for the tent flap to be opened.
King Luo was standing with an enigmatic allure, exuding an air of regality that drew Qie Xieling in like moths to a flame. Like a forbidden fruit, his tyrannical charm was powerful enough to even draw the most wary souls into his sphere of influence.
"I will get him to eat," he said and Jolie was a little surprised. She let go of him and stood up before handing the bowl over.
Qie Xieling was a little confused why Jolie would so easily agree. Whatever the reason he didn’t care. Right now he just saw King Luo as his saviour.
Jolie told him that he was going to make him some warm tea and left leaving the two of them in the tent.
King Luo silently sat next to him and Qie Xieling attempted to negotiate. "How about this? You tell her I ate and we can both forget about it."
King Luo glanced at him but he found himself drawn in by those amber-coloured eyes. His heart felt like it had been set alight and the fire was spreading everywhere. It was better off when he didn’t know who this person really was but now that he did it was very hard not to overthink.
"I... I have a spell that can make anything taste good. Here," he awkwardly replied before whispering some words his eyes illuminating a bright light.
The bowl was surrounded by mesmerising light before a pleasant aroma wafted out of the bowl.
Like a boy performing a cheap magic trick to impress a girl, it worked. Qie Xieling was so impressed you would think King Luo had raised someone from the dead or something.
Seeing that smile on Qie Xieling’s face made King Luo’s heart melt into a puddle.
