Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 175: Poor social skills
AN: Hello everyone, I am so sorry for the temp Chapter uploads recently. I have been taking antibiotics so my mind is lagging a bit. I haven’t managed to get myself together yet that’s the reason why I have been uploading unedited Chapters and temp Chapters before hand. I hope you understand. Happy reading.
Atop the Xedian palace, Queen Yana stood at the top of the tower watching her army preparing to be deployed. From where she stood she could see the decapitated head of the troll King spiked through a spear. After such a disappointing turn of events, she killed him out of anger. Now she had no idea where Eling was.
As the strong winds blew the sheer material of her dress, a man appeared behind her with the hood of his cloak covering his face.
"You took your precious time," she said and the man half knelt before her seeming apologetic.
"I had to finish the work assigned to me before I left. My apologies," he replied and Queen Yana took a very long time to respond. After a while, Queen Yana said, "It’s Eling. I want him dead and I need a body for evidence."
The man bowed his head and agreed to the order. He always hated the fact that Queen Yana gave Eling all her attention. He was not only resentful but he was jealous of him. Now being allowed to end him he was going to take it.
"Yes, your Majesty. I will not let you down," he said and Queen Yana clenched her fist as she replied,
"You better not."

Qie Xieling had no idea that last night someone tried to sneak into his tent. He held on to that grudge from yesterday and carried it over to the next day.
King Luo thought that if Eling slept on it he would wake up in a better mood and they could talk about it but he seriously underestimated Eling’s ability to hold a grudge. He didn’t even look at him neither did he speak to him. In fact, he was acting like he was air. King Luo was finally getting the invisible treatment that Luo Muchen got for years. In other words, he was being put back in the dog house.
What made matters worse was that King Luo’s social skills were subpar. This meant that he couldn’t even bring up the matter when he had the chance. They had been tracking through the enchanted canopy forest and when they took a break, King Luo walked over to Eling who was snacking as usual.
He stood in front of him but his poor social skills made it difficult to find the right words. The tense atmosphere weighed heavily as King Luo mustered up the courage to begin a conversation, hoping to mend the rift between them.
"What’s up," asked Qie Xieling seeming indifferent like what happened last night had nothing to do with him. This alone made King Luo feel some type of way.
It seemed Eling had taken his words yesterday to heart and he really wasn’t going to bother him. Instead of apologising for what he did yesterday he said, "Last night you broke the rules."
Jolie, "..."
Yes, she was eavesdropping and wanted to get first-hand tea. Who would have thought King Luo was so bad at making conversation?
Qie Xieling just glanced at him at a loss before saying, "I am sorry. It won’t happen again. Is that all?"
King Luo was at a loss. For a moment he just stood there feeling hopeless. Seeing that Eling wasn’t interested in talking to him anymore he walked away.
He might not have been interested in talking to him but Yunninh was more than willing. She followed him around like a pup talking endlessly.
Jolie trotted over and asked, "What did he say?" but Qie Xieling really wasn’t in the mood to talk about it.

The king of the forgotten realm was a mythical entity that resided in the city above the clouds. To get there one had to traverse through the enchanted forest, a forest that most wouldn’t dare tread. They were all aware of the type of place they were about to venture into but they couldn’t risk Princess Yana taking over the five kingdoms so they had no choice.
As they ventured deep into the forest, the once-gentle sway of the branches morphed into sinister gestures. Suddenly, massive tree roots erupted from the ground, attempting to ensnare the group.
"Everybody be careful!" yelled King Luo as the creaking sound of branches swaying back and forth intensified.
Qie Xieling who hadn’t foreseen this coming was a little stunned. Since he had no magic didn’t it mean he was the easiest target? Yunning unleashed her magical prowess to fend off the assault. Simultaneously Boran brandished his weapon skillfully, slicing through any tendril that dared approach.
Qie Xieling had no other choice but to run. Without his magic he couldn’t defend himself and the people around him would die if he died. Sensing his weakness the swaying branches seemed to recognise him as an easy target as he ran away for his life. Before he could find shelter his leg was suddenly caught and he was pulled up. Qie Xieling who never knew he had a fear of heights was suddenly frightened out of his mind.
"Jolie, save me!" he yelled. Like a mama bear heeding the call of her cub, she made an incantation and froze the branches attacking her. Like rushing water, the ice travelled down from the leaves to the roots freezing the entire plant before shattering into pieces.
She rushed over to Qie Xieling’s side but before she could reach him the branch wrapped around Qie Xieling’s ankle was burnt to cinder and the person fell to the ground. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
"AAAAAHHHHHH!!!" he screamed only to be caught by Jolie in mid-air.
Qie Xieling felt a great sense of relief having been rescued. "You are the only one looking out for me," he said and King Luo who was on his way to catch him, felt some type of way watching this. It seemed as though Jolie was truly going against him at every turn.
Jolie conjured a magical barrier around them both, deflecting any incoming verdant assaults by the branches.
As abruptly as they had begun their assault, the trees suddenly ceased their attack; but peace was not theirs to enjoy just yet. The ground shifted beneath their feet as rocks were drawn together to form a behemoth of a rock man. Its mighty stone fists raised high and ready to strike.
