Chapter 172: Peeping Tom

"How often does this person cross your mind?" asked Jolie as her brow furrowed slightly. She was fully aware that someone was standing outside listening in. To be exact it was a four-legged dragon eavesdropping on them and that only fueled her desire to push the boat along the river.

"Pick C. I totally daydream about him when I am free. I always wonder what Mu Mu is doing, did he eat or did he sleep well? Isn’t that normal though? I thought friends worry about other friends like that."

Jolie hastily interjected. "You care about Bobo that way? Are you constantly daydreaming about him?"

Qie Xieling’s face scrunched up as he answered, "No. I mean I do care but not like that... ugh shit."

"See, next question," she said and the person eavesdropping outside left.

King Luo wanted to tell them not to be in the same tent together as per the earlier agreement but when he overheard their conversation he couldn’t help but listen. He was not the type to eavesdrop but today his manners were tossed out the window as he listened to what Eling was saying.

It was now apparent to him that these two didn’t have any romantic relationship though it still bothered him so much that he wanted them apart. There was nothing between them but there was also this Mu Mu person and the way Eling was referring to this person it seemed he was deeply in love.

A surge of bitterness coursed through King Luo’s veins, a feeling he couldn’t quite comprehend. His fists clenched at his sides, and he fought the urge to barge into the tent and confront him. He was well aware that his ancestry was possessive and protective of their possessions.

Once he gets obsessed with something, there was no stopping him. He was extremely possessive of his hoard of treasures and Eling was quickly falling into that category. He didn’t know when or how it happened but he had the inexplicable desire to lock Eling up in a dark room with his treasure and wrap his body around him all night taking in his scent like an addict.

Instead of rushing in, he forced himself to take a step back, struggling to maintain his composure. He turned away, his mind racing with a mix of emotions. Confusion, disappointment, and a deep sense of longing swirled within him. As he wandered through the forest, he became increasingly aware of the ugly feeling bubbling within his core.

Seeking solace, King Luo stumbled upon the nearby hidden spring tranquil oasis tucked away from prying eyes. The steamy mist hung in the air, and he gazed at the shimmering water, drawn to its calming embrace.

With a sigh, King Luo undressed and neatly folded his clothes before slipping into the warm spring, the water enveloping him. As he submerged himself, his thoughts became consumed by his own conflicting emotions. He couldn’t make sense as to why he harboured such a thought towards his most hated person in the world.

He submerged himself deeper, allowing the water to wash away the turmoil within him. He focused on his breathing, attempting to regain control over his emotions. The warmth of the spring seeped into his very soul, and he found temporary respite from the overwhelming possessiveness.

When he emerged from the water he felt the presence of someone lurking in the shadows.

A few minutes ago Qie Xieling had been quite eager to run away from Jolie. After all that bloody quiz had told him that not only was he a love-struck fool but he was also a simp.

Feeling rather naked he decided to go take a soak. It had been a long day, and the thought of soaking in the soothing waters brought a smile to his face.

But as he approached the spring, the sound of rustling leaves caught his attention. Curiosity piqued, he followed the noise and peered through the bushes, hoping to catch a glimpse of who or what was there.

His eyes widened when he saw a figure submerged in the crystal-clear water. It was none other than King Luo. Qie Xieling’s throat bobbed at the sight of King Luo’s chiselled physique, the water glistening on his skin. A mix of shock and intrigue overwhelmed him, stirring emotions he had been repressing.

It seemed he was really, truly bent and as icing on the cake he was bent for his close friend. This realisation made it hard to deny it anymore.

King Luo suddenly rose from the water, his gaze locking with Eling’s through the dense foliage. A flicker of surprise and confusion crossed his face.

In a swift motion, King Luo stepped out of the spring and summoned his magical powers. The air crackled with energy as he conjured a spell, directing it toward Eling.

Before Qie Xieling could react, he found himself pinned to the ground, unable to move. Desperation twisted Qie Xieling’s expression, his voice trembling as he cried out, "It’s me. I was just passing by. Let me go."

King Luo scoffed before saying, "Passing by? Do I look like I was born yesterday?" He loosened his magic hold slightly.

He walked back into the warm spring and with the wave of his hand, he released the spell freeing Eling from his magical confinement.

As Qie Xieling rose to his feet, he felt a mixture of relief. This man was incredibly ruthless. After stretching out his aching muscles, he began to eagerly take off his clothes ready to take a dip. He hastily took off his boots and carelessly tossed them followed by his socks and belt. Before he could strip off his overcoat King Luo said, "Don’t you see that there is someone here already?"

Qie Xieling who couldn’t understand his meaning said, "Aren’t we all men? What’s there to worry about?... Don’t worry your majesty, I am a gentleman."

Lies! Who was secretly peeping just now? King Luo wanted to chase him away but he found the words difficult to say.

"At least fold your clothes. Don’t act barbaric in my presence," he said before turning away to create a huge distance between them.

Qie Xieling tried to be as neat as possible but it was a far cry from how King Luo’s clothes were neatly folded. He jumped into the warm spring stirring the water. He splashed water on his face and when he wiped it off he saw that King Luo was evading him like the plague. His entire body was surrounded by this don’t talk to me energy but since when had that ever stopped him?
