Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 169: "You are so domestic."
King Luo knew he might not have enough time left before he turned back into a dragon thus he had to get this done.
He needed to find Eling no matter where he went thus he decided to do an attachment spell. This meant no matter where he was under Xedian sun, he would find him. The spell involved Eling drinking his blood and chanting a few words in the draconian language.
Qie Xieling struggled a bit but he barely put any strength to it. He watched as King Luo took a blade from his holding bag and unsheathed it.
As King Luo’s palm dripped with crimson blood, Qie Xieling’s terror reached its peak. His eyes widened in disbelief, witnessing the dragon king’s audacious act. But then, something unexpected happened.
The fear in Qie Xieling’s eyes transformed into curiosity as he recognised the significance of King Luo’s actions. With each uttered chant, King Luo’s silver gaze intensified. Yet instead of struggling against the forceful grip on his jaw, Qie Xieling seemed almost willing to submit.
A glimmer of understanding flickered across his face, and a new sense of trust emerged. In that bewildering moment, Qie Xeiling comprehended the true power behind this attachment spell, a connection that transcended distance and time itself.
This meant that no matter where he was, King Luo would find him. He licked the blood droplets on his lips and lay back down with his arms resting at the back of his head.
For a moment, King Luo remained still, his eyes slowly returning to normal. He was a little confused. That’s because Eling ceased struggling against him, his resistance giving way to a peculiar acceptance. Even as he lay there, he was smiling at the corners of his lips with a relaxed expression like none of this bothered him.
"You...," he said and Qie Xieling sat up with his elbows pressed onto the bed, propping him up.
"Me what? You should have just told me you wanted to use the attachment spell on me and I wouldn’t have fought you," he said his eyes lingering on King Luo’s thin lips.
He subconsciously moved closer, the temptation unbearable. Before his intrusive thoughts could win, King Luo asked, "Why?"
Qie Xieling’s intense gaze moved up to King Luo’s eyes, the enchantment drawing him towards the man’s lips. When their eyes met, King Luo’s lungs stiffened, and his entire body locked. The muscle in his face clenched with tension, unable to move his gaze away from him.
Qie Xieling’s lips quirked as he opened his lips to answer but the door was suddenly opened and Jolie walked straight into this awkward scene.
She immediately covered her eyes but soon opened a small gap in between her fingers to peek. "Sorry sorry sorry," she said but she remained rooted on the spot, not intending to leave.
Seeing that she wasn’t leaving, Qie Xieling picked up the pillow next to him and tossed it at her. It hit Jolie squarely in the face.
"Ouch... I am going, I am going. Just use protection. Who knows if you’ll get pregnant in this world," she said before rushing out with her head, almost slamming into the wall by accident.
Jolie closed the door and excitedly stomped her feet. When she raised her head, she found that Yunning was looking at her with a disdainful expression.
"What are you excited about?" she asked in a condescending tone.
Jolie didn’t even let this get to her. She ran her fingers through her hair and said, "None of your business. You should be more worried about how to hold on to things before they slip out of your fingers."
Yunning, "..."
"What does that mean?" she asked as Jolie walked away. Jolie raised her middle finger without looking back . That was retaliation for Yunning swearing at Qie Xieling earlier. No one was allowed to bully her little cub, well, except for her.

Qie Xieling chuckled softly before saying, "How long do you intend to straddle me? If you aren’t going to do anything, then get off me."
King Luo, "..."
Did Eling want something to happen between them, was what King Luo was thinking as he got off on top of him?
Qie Xieling got off the bed and fixed his clothes before packing away everything he needed. King Luo was seated on the bed, watching him busy himself. He wasn’t even packing things orderly but rather carelessly into his holding bag. He had seen the mess in Eling’s holding bag when he went through it.
Unable to stand his disorderly actions, he said, "Give it to me."
Qie Xieling turned to look at him before naturally handing it over. It was almost second nature to him. Qie Xieling’s forgetfulness was notorious among their circle of friends. From misplaced keys to missed assignment deadlines, he seemed to have an uncanny ability to misplace anything that came into his possession.
Luo Muchen would sometimes take his school bag and pack it for him. He would put reminders on Qie Xieling’s calendar on his cell phone and remind him in time as well. Luo Muchen would even clean out his desk and pencil case before packing everything back. As Qie Xieling sat down next to him and watched him meticulously arrange his books and personal items neatly in the holding bag, a surge of emotions washed over him.
He couldn’t help but imagine the happiness that awaited anyone who would be lucky enough to have Luo Muchen by their side. At that thought, his chest suddenly felt heavy and suffocated.
He hurriedly repressed the feeling and a warm smile formed on his lips as he leaned in closer saying, "You are so domestic. Your wife would be the luckiest person in the world."
King Luo’s fingers froze, having finally snapped out of it. Why was he even packing Eling’s stuff for him? This was unlike him. "Here, do it yourself," he said before getting up and Qie Xieling grabbed his wrist, pulling him back.
Because King Luo wasn’t expecting Eling to pull at his hand, the force dragged him down with no resistance and he fell straight on top of Eling.
The sudden proximity between them filled him with an inexplicable excitement, a fluttering sensation that he couldn’t comprehend. But amidst this strange thrill, anger surged within him like a tempestuous storm.
How could he feel such things towards Eling? Eling had betrayed him for love. Love he had towards his estranged half-sister. It was unacceptable, forbidden even. Qie Xieling remained silent, his gentle smile barely betraying the amusement dancing in his eyes.
