Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 165: Got groped by a pervert again
Yunning stood at the centre of her room with her ebony tresses cascading down her back. Her hands trembled slightly as she clutched the delicate pendant, the token that had once represented her betrothal to the five kingdoms’ beloved King.
Her face was red and her eyes moist like she was about to break into tears. After yelling so much, her voice was hoarse and her throat dry. She didn’t want to give it away. She would rather die.
"He caused all of this so why should I give him something special to me? This is the only thing I have left from my mother and you yourself know its significance. I can’t... I won’t," she said, and King Luo was at a loss.
Unable to speak to her like this, he turned to Boran and said, "Give me some clothes."
Boran was a little confused why he was asking for this but he still obeyed and handed him the clothes they had bought earlier at the market.
King Luo bit the clothes and jumped off the bed, his steps majestic and superimposing.
He went behind the folding screen. A luminous light shone from behind as a figure of a man morphed from the small dragon.
From where they stood, they could see a majestic shadow putting on clothes. Yunning’s breath was caught in her throat, her gaze focused on the man behind the folding screen.
When he stepped out, a tall and regal figure with piercing almond-shaped eyes stood before her. His gaze was intense, filled with a mix of determination and desperation. On his neck was a black choker with a glimmering bloodstone.
The two of them were too stunned to speak and for a moment, the room fell into dead silence.
"He brought this with him yesterday from that celestial’s den," he said and Boran couldn’t help but interject,
"More like sex den."
"It helps me transform to my human form for at least an hour from what I saw last night... Yunning, if we want to save the five kingdoms, we have to give him what he wants."
Boran scratched his head before saying, "Can’t we just force his hand? It’s really unfair for her to give away the marriage token that her mother left for her. It’s of great significance." 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
King Luo also knew the significance of this pendant. He himself wore the other half and his mother told him to fulfil the end of their bargain. This was why he was forcing himself to marry even when he didn’t want to. Before he was put in this predicament, he was certain of himself but now he had great reluctance. Before he was determined to be filial and do as his mother asked but now he was suddenly filled with thoughts of rebellion.
"I will return it to you that I promise but for now, this isn’t a negotiation but me telling you what to do-," he said but Yunning suddenly opened the door and walked out not forgetting to slam it hard.
When she slammed it, the room shook and a second vase came crashing down. A loud roar from the innkeeper followed right after.
"Which uncultured bastard broke my flower vase again!!!"
Boran’s brow arched as he said, "His hearing must be good."
Meanwhile, the culprit stormed off into the forest nearby. When she was deep enough that no passersby could see her, she screamed before crouching down.
Her heart raced, tormented by the secret she had harboured for so long. She had loved that little boy king from the moment he saved her from being the fierce guard dogs of the main palace when she snuck out. She loved him so much that when she saw the opportunity, she took it. This pendant wasn’t given to her by neither her mother or father. She had stolen it.
It once belonged to a toddler who had been brought to the palace by her father. She overheard her father explain to her mother that the toddler’s mother had left in search of her husband. The pendant in his hand was given to that sorcerer by the dragon Bahamut that she had saved.
Peeking in through the door, she heard that it was a marriage token to marry the boy king. When she heard that name, she knew she had to get her hands on it.
While the little boy was sleeping in his crib, she stole it. In her head, she justified her actions by saying he was a boy anyway, so how could a boy marry a boy king? It was ridiculous.
Because the toddler was taken to his kind to be raised, the guilt she felt towards that boy ceased to exist, disappearing over the years. Where that boy ended up, she had no idea.
She was excited when he was finally going to fulfil his obligation. Holding her breath, she eagerly waited for him to show up but as though the universe knew what she had done, it was deliberately going against her. She had almost got it only for it to be snatched away from her. Her heart was unsettled, burdened by the secrets she had kept and the sacrifices she had made.
Though she loathed Eling, she knew that their alliance was the only path forward, no matter the cost. Since her fiance said he would give it back to her, then there was no need to worry.
Meanwhile, Qie Xieling was fast asleep, curled up like a fluff ball. He had no idea that he had caused a major rift between two people.
While floating on the fluffy clouds dreaming that he was back home, the door was suddenly opened. Because Jolie didn’t need to sleep, she was wide awake. She was trying to breach the security of the system without causing waves so she could send an update to Wen Qinxi when she saw the little dragon head peeking in.
She immediately vanished into thin air while complaining internally, ’Yet he claims they haven’t slept together. Who would believe that?’
Seeing that that girl wasn’t here, King Luo felt a little happy. Thinking that he was happy because he didn’t want to get caught slipping in, he trotted over to the bed and slipped underneath the quilt. Qie Xieling felt something lying on his chest.
He suddenly hugged it and King Luo’s eyes widened as he tried to get out of the tight embrace. But Qie Xieling loosened his grip as he lay on his side.
He kissed the warm cheek of the little dragon before nuzzling him. The entire time King Luo had a dumbfounded look on his cute dragon face. He just got groped by this pervert again.
