Chapter 144: "So you are just going to starve me then?"

Qie Xieling came out of the bathroom with a face full of smiles. When he entered the small dining hall he found that Yunning and Boran were eating what looked like lunch.

It wasn’t what he was used to eating but in this game world, he had to take what he could get. He sat down and helped himself to a dinner roll but before he touched it his hand was slapped away by Boran.

"Boran, how dare you hit a woman," he yelled but in truth, his transformation was only on his face and hair. His junior brother was most definitely still there and intact.

"What woman? You are still a man even with that disguise on," replied Boran pulling the plate of dinner rolls away from him.

"So you are just going to starve me then?... If that’s the case then you can find him by yourselves. My draconic bloodline won’t function when I am a starved corpse," he said as he got up like he was going back to the room he was locked in before.

He could feel the fierce gazes behind him burning holes in his skin as he walked away. These two needed him to find the dragon king because Eling was descended from a draconic bloodline sorcerer hence he could find dragons and half-dragons.

Yunning clenched her fist before slowly releasing it. "Come back," she said and Qie Xieling turned around with a dazzling smile. He had bargaining power and he was more than willing to use it. He picked up the dinner roll and bit through it while sitting down.

"I can help you and with my help, you will definitely find him in the shortest time possible but...," he said pulling his wrist and showing the magic suppression cuffs, "it has to go."

"No!" yelled Boran.

Qie Xieling swallowed the not so fresh bun before saying, "How am I supposed to sense a dragon’s aura if my magic is suppressed. I honestly thought you were smart. Turns out there is only water up there," he said venting out all his frustrations and who could blame him? With what he had been through it was a surprise that he hadn’t lost his mind yet.

"You little piece of shit," cursed Boran through gritted teeth as he got up in haste making the chair fall to the ground with a bang.

His greataxe appeared in his hand and he looked like he was ready to swing it. Yunning raised her hand and Boran had no choice but to stand down. Seeing this Qie Xieling wasn’t happy at all.

He was his friend but he was listening to Bi Yu like they were the best of friends. He bit his inner lip while swallowing down the sour feeling in his heart.

After eating a few more bites he said, "And him... he shouldn’t threaten me at any chance he gets. I didn’t betray you so it’s not your turn to want to chop my head off. If he threatens me one more time I won’t help you. It’s as simple as that." Boran coldly snorted but he didn’t speak.

"Is that all?" asked Yunning and Qie Xieling thought of something else.

"You aren’t allowed to sentence me for that crime. The person I betrayed should have the last say so yah... that’s everything."

Yunning clenched her jaw tightly. She wanted him to suffer for what he did but like he said, it wasn’t her that he betrayed.

"Fine. You have my word," she said and whispered some words before the runes on the bracelet shone a gold light before it unclasped and floated into her hand.

Qie Xieling rubbed his wrist before dishing out some steaming meat stew on a plate and dipping the dinner roll in it. He was so hungry and his hunger bar remained high these past few days.

Qie Xieling ate to his heart’s content under the awe of the two people. He ate twice more than Boran ate. The Ragnar tribe was made of very tall muscular people with great strength and they ate a lot to make up for it. But Eling who was both a wizard and sorcerer ate more than what a regular Ragnar would consume.

When he finally raised his head he was met by the two pairs of eyes staring at him. "What? I have been through a lot of shit, okay?"

After Qie Xieling ate to his heart’s content he was finally ready to check the five kingdoms map. Boran spread it out on the table and Yunning pointed at a spot on the map.

"This is where... it all happened," she said pausing in between to look at Eling. To her surprise, the culprit had no sense of guilt. He was just staring at the map like this entire thing wasn’t caused by him.

Yunning couldn’t take it anymore so she said, "I sincerely hope you can take this seriously. The monsteric order is wreaking havoc across the five kingdoms expanding their sphere of influence. They are murdering anyone who dares to resist in public. The only reason they are now emboldened is because the dragon king vanished. You caused this and the best thing you can do is atone for your sins by taking this matter seriously.

Qie Xieling finally looked at her but he didn’t speak. He just pointed on the map indicating the key areas that met the perfect conditions for a dragon’s lair.

Dragons notoriously liked mountain caves, remote islands or glacial caverns. The location of choice depended on the type of dragon and its preference.

"Luo is half descended from a platinum dragon which makes him very easy to find. He will pick the tallest mountain with a snowy peak," explained Qie Xieling using the knowledge from Eling.

Boran circled on the map saying, "That leaves Mount Flemston and Grogonie mountain."

"Finding him is not the problem. It’s getting into his lair that’s problematic. Who knows how many spells, traps and minions he would have in and around his lair," said Qie Xieling recalling how troublesome dragons were in the forgotten realms.

Boran wasn’t happy with the way Eling was addressing King Luo. He used to be respectful but now after betraying him, he was now referring to him by name. Boran wasn’t the only one annoyed by this. Yunning was also displeased thus she said,

"You should still refer to him as his royal majesty. He is after all still the ruler of the five kingdoms under his father’s authority."

Qie Xieling’s brow arched as he looked at her. Asking him to call Luo Muchen his royal majesty was like asking for the impossible. His eyes suddenly narrowed when he caught a glimpse of the pendant around Yunning’s neck partially concealed under her clothes.

Without thinking he reached over and asked, "Where did you get this?" his entire body numb. Why the hell did she have the same pendant as the one he had in reality?
