Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 114: "Who is better looking me or him?"
"I really don’t like her like that," he said and she showed a doting smile like that of a mentor and said,
"Well, if you don’t give her a chance you might never know."
Qie Xieling’s left the lecture hall his mind a chaotic mess. He was thinking about clicking on that guy’s profile and seeing what he was all about.
Just when he reached the stairs he heard a sweet voice calling his name. When he turned back he saw Jinjing running over. Qie Xieling stopped and waited for her.
"What’s up?" he asked and she gasped for air while replying,
"I wanted to ask if you have a partner for the year-end project."
Qie Xieling, "..."
This was the beginning of the year and here she was already asking for a project that was light years away. Qie Xieling didn’t want to give her hope, especially after what the professor said.
"I will think about it. I have to go," he said and Jinjing didn’t force it. She smiled helplessly before saying,
"Can we... meet up for some coffee tomorrow? There is something I need your help with."
She knew from the other boys that Qie Xieling would never refuse to help anyone when it came to schoolwork. All you had to do was ask.
Qie Xieling couldn’t meet up with her tomorrow or anytime soon because he had plans so he said, "How about next week? I have plans this week."
Jinjing happily accepted. She could only take what she could get. Having made an agreement, Qie Xieling left and bought lunch for both him and Bo Ailun before sitting at their usual spot.
While waiting, Qie Xieling scrolled through his feed in the app hesitating to go back to Luo Muchen’s profile. Five scrolls in he suddenly stopped when he saw that Luo Muchen had posted another picture.
This time there were other people in it but it was even more ambiguous than before. They appeared to be eating out as a group but Luo Muchen was sitting next to the same guy who was just staring at him with puppy dog eyes.
"Shit," mumbled Qie Xieling before tapping the guy’s profile.
From it, Qie Xieling found out he was an openly gay young man of Bulgarian descent with a lot of pictures. As he scrolled down stalking his page, Qie Xieling’s heart dropped when he saw what could only be Luo Muchen’s back in one of his pictures.
Qie Xieling could easily identify that back anywhere. He had grown up with Luo Muchen so he should know.
With the tip of his tongue pressing hard against the back of his canine while reading the caption. At first glance, it was very innocent. It was just ’meet my teammate’ and when he clicked on more his eyes widened.
The young man clearly wrote ’I am so into him. What do you think? Handsome right?’
Qie Xieling, "..."
"Hey, what are you watching? Porn?" said Bo Ailun while sitting down beside him.
Qie Xieling who was in a very bad mood retorted, "Fuck off," re-reading the caption.
Bo Ailun tilted his head while replying, "Well, fuck you too. I am having a shitty day just like you."
Qie Xieling leaned in and showed the cell phone while asking, "Is he good-looking?" 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Bo Ailun was a little surprised. Qie Xieling was like a block of wood with no desire for anyone. He didn’t have a problem chatting with girls and in fact, was considered the flirt king. If you are having a chat with a girl and don’t know what to say, all you had to do was ask Qie Xieling and without batting an eye he would provide a cheat sheet to get a date with a girl. Despite his talent, he wasn’t into anyone and didn’t even give it a shot when girls asked him out. Now he was asking him about a guy’s picture.
"Are you interested in him?" asked Bo Ailun and Qie Xieling scowled while saying,
"No, who is more handsome me or him?"
Bo Ailun’s brow arched while unwrapping the paper to eat his spicy chicken wrap. "Have you lost your mind?" he asked and Qie Xieling pat his arm while saying,
"No, I am serious. Who looks better, me or him?"
Bo Ailun took a bite while taking a closer look and he answered honestly. He is smaller than you and his features are soft. He looks more effeminate than you... He is pretty and you are handsome. It’s not comparable."
Qie Xieling didn’t seem to like that response much. What was so difficult to state who looked better than the other?
"Mm, the cheese is so good and you even got me extra chicken," said Bo Ailun seeming quite content.
Qie Xieling glared at him from the corner of his eye while saying, "Yet you can’t even say I look more handsome than him."
Bo Ailun wiped his mouth while complaining, "Is this a bribe? You bought me my favourite so I can compliment you? I feel used."
Qie Xieling ignored him while scrolling through the pictures. His shoulder was suddenly tapped and when he looked up he saw Lee Ya and Bi Yu standing next to him.
He arched his brow wondering when these two got into a good relationship when they never used to like each other. "How on earth did you know we were here?" asked Bo Ailun and Bi Yu replied,
"You two have two favourite spots. Near the coffee shop or at the park and it’s always the same table so."
"We need to change our hang-out spots," said Bo Ailun and Qie Xieling could definitely agree.
He turned his screen towards Bi Yu and asked, "Who is better looking me or him?"
Bi Yu took his cell phone and Lee Ya also glanced over. The girls immediately answered simultaneously.
"You."
"Of course, you."
Qie Xieling took his cell phone back and said, "See, even they see it. Yet you are my best friend."
Bo Ailun, "..."
"Lin Lin, are you going to eat that?" asked Lee Ya and Qie Xieling who really didn’t have an appetite replied, "You can have it," while handing it to her.
"Thanks," she said and the two of them cut it in half and shared it.
While Lee Ya was taking a bite Bi Yu asked, "Why are you comparing yourself to some guy? Is it body dysmorphia?"
"No, it’s nothing," he said before lowering his head and continuing with his stalkerish behaviour that even he couldn’t explain.
