Saintess? Not Anymore! I'd Rather be a Destroyer-Chapter 349 - 286: Test 2
"Should we just let her pass, then? After all, as you said, she’s overqualified," Luera asked, tilting her head slightly.
"Just let her participate like everyone else," Alfred said with a dismissive wave.
"I still find it hard to believe she’s only thirteen. She looks older than that," Draek muttered, eyeing Alfred with suspicion.
Alfred scoffed. "I’m not blind, young man. I know exactly what I see. Her bones don’t lie neither does her soul."
The test room remained silent except for the scratching of pens against paper. Time stretched on as the examinees worked diligently. After an hour, a faint glow filled the room, and the papers vanished from each desk.
Aurianna exhaled in relief, leaning back in her chair. She had managed to finish in time.
Luera suddenly stepped forward as she swung the wand in her hand. Without warning, nearly half the candidates in the room vanished in an instant. Gasps echoed as the remaining students looked around in shock.
"Only those who remain in this room have passed the first test. Those I’ve removed have failed," Luera announced flatly, lowering her wand.
Aurianna’s lips twitched as she thought, ’How did they even manage to grade all those papers so quickly?’
Draek clapped his hands to regain their attention. "Now for the next test. We will assess your levels. Anyone below level 200 will not be accepted into this academy. And as for the age limit. For humans the new age is 50 since humans are starting to have longer lifespans. Vampires and other races the limit is 150 years old. "
As he spoke, a massive floating cube materialized beside him, glowing faintly with a blue light.
"Everyone, form a straight line," Luera instructed, and the students quickly obeyed. One by one, they stepped forward, pressing their hands against the cube.
Draek checked the readings as the first examinee stepped up. "Wow, level 202 at your age? Impressive. You pass."
A few participants were immediately disqualified due to low levels, their faces falling in disappointment before they were escorted out.
"Damn, level 259. Interesting. You pass to the next round," Draek remarked as another participant stepped forward.
Then it was Aurianna’s turn. She calmly approached the cube, placing her hand on its surface. Instantly, a brilliant light erupted from it, far brighter than it had been for the others. Murmurs spread through the room as uneasy glances were exchanged.
Luera and Draek stiffened, their expressions betraying a flicker of nervousness.
’So, they already knew I was a Grand Human,’ Aurianna mused with a smirk.
A curious participant, emboldened by the tension, spoke up. "Aren’t you going to announce her level?"
Draek hesitated for a fraction of a second before clearing his throat. "Ah, yes. Level 9000. You pass."
The room fell silent. Eyes widened, and a few students took an instinctive step back.
’Eh? Since when did you reach that level?’ Gixo’s voice echoed in Aurianna’s mind, laced with disbelief.
Aurianna chuckled internally. ’Well, even though Eva is gone, she gave me the ability to enter the void space whenever I want—even without her. And I can stay there longer now. I’ve been training with Carol.’
Gixo let out an exasperated sigh. ’Oh that makes sense.’
’Well, the stronger she gets, the better it is for me,’ Gixo mused to himself.
Gasps and murmurs spread through the room like wildfire.
"Level 9000? Is that even possible?" someone whispered in disbelief.
"It has to be a fluke!" another participant shouted, his voice sharp with skepticism.
Draek’s expression darkened as he turned to face the crowd, his peach-colored eyes narrowing coldly. "Do you think we would lie?" His voice carried an tone that made the room fall silent.
The participant who had spoken gulped, his confidence evaporating. "N-No..."
"Hmm. Alright then." Draek exhaled, turning away as if the matter was settled.
Luera stepped in smoothly, pointing toward a swirling portal that shimmered. "Please proceed that way with the others."
Aurianna gave a slight nod. "Okay." Without hesitation, she walked forward and stepped into the portal.
The moment she emerged on the other side, a rush of different scents flooded her senses. The new area was massive, teeming with people of all races—humans, elves, beastkin, even a few demons. The air buzzed with chatter, and banners hung from towering stone walls, giving the space the appearance of a grand hall.
But Aurianna’s attention snapped to something far more important. Off to the side, a long table overflowed with delicacies, from golden pastries to richly glazed meats and exotic fruits. Her eyes sparkled.
Without wasting a second, she rushed toward the table, grabbing a plate and piling it with a variety of cakes. Picking up a fork and knife, she scanned the area before settling at an empty table. Ignoring the glances from those around her, she dug in, savoring each bite.
A loud voice boomed overhead. "Okay, boys and girls, the next test will begin in thirty minutes. Please hurry up and enter the room on the left."
Aurianna barely registered the announcement, too engrossed in her food. She only moved when she finished her last bite, licking a bit of frosting from her finger before casually making her way toward the designated room.
Even as she stepped inside, the same announcement echoed through the air on repeat. She glanced around. The room was enormous, with high ceilings and smooth marble floors. Several examinees had already gathered, some stretching, others talking with each other.
Another announcement played, but this time it was different. "New participants, please come to the front to receive your number tags for the next test."
Aurianna strode toward the desk without hesitation. A staff member sat behind it, barely looking up as she approached. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"Could I have my tag?" she asked, her voice steady.
"Sure, here you go," a fairy said with a cheerful smile, tossing a small wooden tag toward Aurianna. She caught it effortlessly.
The fairies working behind the desk were tiny—no larger than a human palm. Their delicate wings fluttered with ease as they zipped around, handling the distribution of tags efficiently.
As Aurianna walked away, she twirled the tag between her fingers, glancing at the symbol carved into the wood. ’I wonder what fairies taste like,’ she mused absentmindedly before slipping the tag around her neck.
She made her way to a quieter corner of the room, leaning against the wall as she observed the others. More participants trickled in, each receiving their tags before finding their own places to wait.
