Chapter 312: Chapter 249: White Gemaris goddess

Paige was seething in the god realm but didn’t act on her feelings. She simply disconnected her connection to her statue, removing her presence from the space.

Aurianna walked up to the youth who questioned their safety, placing her hand on his shoulder with a warm smile, "Don’t worry. As you could see nothing happened. With the help of the goddess I serve she won’t dare to do anything. Everything’s been planned out."

"What goddess?" High Priest Chris asked with a confused expression.

"The White Gemaris goddess. She was the one who saved me and has brought me here today to save you all poor souls." Aurianna explained with a smile.

"So do you abandon or stay?" Aurianna may have asked them the question, but she felt she already knew the answer. From her Talking skill to openly mocking Paige and her staying silent, there was little reason for them not to follow her.

"Abandon, abandon, I don’t want to live like this!" Many in the crowd yelled unanimously.

"Same!" Another added.

"Yeah we don’t want to!"

Aurianna tried her best to hold a darkened smirk back as she looked on at the crowd. With the kindest looking smile she could muster up she spoke, "Good. Very good..."

She walked back to the statue of Paige, turning to face everyone.

"Now. People who would harm us, take our acts for granted, they are individuals who don’t deserve our grace. I will have the church changed. Those who dare look down on the church are no less than fools, and fools deserve punishment of the highest order. However, those who are friends shall remain so as long as they don’t overstep their boundaries. And as the Saintess and apostle of the White Gemaris goddess, I shall lead you all!"

"Oh, and by the way. Avriel, do get rid of the pests spying on us," Aurianna muttered quietly.

"With pleasure," Avriel responded, a hearty smile plastered on her face before vanishing.

Unknown to all inside the room except Aurianna, there were people on the roof. They had been there ever since she entered, and while she sensed them immediately she decided to let it slide. Her first priority was to convert those inside as followers of hers and now that the objective was done, secondary things like elimination of spies could be handled.

"One more thing," Aurianna materialized a gun in her hand as she pointed it towards the crowd.

"To prove that you’re all part of the new church you shall receive this holy mark," Aurianna then shot the gun rapidly toward the crowd. Sparks of white light traveled throughout the room finding its way into their eyes. It didn’t just affect those in the room however, it continued traveling until it reached the eyes of all members of the church, spreading through the entire country of Sandeph.

Those who weren’t present during Aurianna’s speech were given a sudden revelation of what was happening and received a vision of what happened in their past life before time was reversed.

Around the country of Sandeph, the healers and members of the church crouched as they screamed in agony, clenching their faces in pain. Blood oozed out of their eyes and flowed down their faces. A small portion of their hair turned white and once they opened their eyes the people around them looked at them strangely. In their eyes was a white triangular pupil and around their eyes were visible white veins.

[ You have received 4325 followers ]

[ You have used the passive skill Absolute Obedience. The mark of the White Gemaris. ]

[ Skill allows the host to have full control over whoever bears her mark and makes them unable to betray you. Skill cannot be removed even if the target removes their eyes since this mark is attached to their soul. ]

In the god realm, Paige trembled as she felt a sudden fluctuation in her soul.

"How is this possible?" Paige muttered in shock as she clenched her clothes. Just a moment ago Aurianna was making a speech that she was sure none of her followers would listen to. That no one would dare abandon her. But now a small, yet noticeable portion of her energy disappeared. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

A fair-skinned man wearing blue robes along with messy blue hair was standing near Paige. "What is the matter?" He asked, a worried look in his pale blue eyes.

"Nothing, Phils," Paige answered in a dismissive tone. Her trembling on the outside had ceased, yet she felt her heart beating fast. She didn’t know how to react so she tried to bury her unease.

’Losing such a small number of believers is nothing to me. I’ll make sure that they regret it later.’ She thought to herself.

Phils noticed how her face, which was calm and peaceful just moments ago turned into one of shock and bewilderment. Her face was back to normal now but Phils wasn’t an idiot. He’d noticed the shift.

"If anything is wrong you can always talk to me or ask for help." As he explained, he gazed at her warmly.

Paige chuckled, "I’ll remember that but how will the god of the sea even help me since I’m a mere land goddess?"

"I would flood the lands if you’re dissatisfied with any being!" Phils claimed, a serious expression on his face.

Paige smiled at him, "How cute."

Upon hearing Paige’s words, Phil’s face flushed a bright red. He quickly broke eye contact, looking down at the ground.

Back in the Altar room, all the church members opened their eyes as the pain finally ceased.

"What is wrong with your eyes?" a person asked as he noticed the fellow member next to him.

"My eyes? I should be asking you that question," the lady retorted defensively with her arms crossed.

"I feel something a bit tight in my chest," another person muttered.

"What is happening to us?!" another person yelled in frustration and confusion. The room erupted into a sea of voices as all were attempting to figure out what just happened to them.

"Everyone please calm down!" Aurianna yelled- catching everyone’s attention.

"The symbol on your eyes is to show you’re one of the White Gemaris goddess’ followers. You have all awakened," Aurianna explained. Some gazes were filled with confusion, so to solve the problem she closed her eyes. She opened them a couple seconds later to reveal a Diamond-shaped pupil in her eyes.

"With this mark, you’ll gain the benefits of my goddess. Strength, protection of the Saintess, and a new job class," Aurianna said with a broad grin.

"Did she say we get a new job class!? A healer can never have a second job class! That’s awesome!" Someone in the crowd shouted joyfully.

"But how is that possible?" Priest Hotron asked, a dumbfounded expression on his usually stern face as he stood next to Aurianna.

Aurianna stared at him with a smile, "That’s my little secret priest Hotron. And let me finish. I forgot to mention the most important benefit."

"All those who have the mark and try to betray our new church will receive dire consequences which would be immediate death." Aurianna grinned and the members looked at her in shock. Even Deille, Horton and Kaede were shocked. The only ones calm were Avriel, Jugi, Hadina, Zagan and Jade who were already aware of this.

No one expected her to say something like that so casually. There was no warning or even a sign that she was joking. She was completely serious.

"But I never agreed to this!" a healer grumbled as he clenched his fist.

"I never asked for your agreement. Humans are truly ambitious and backstabbing beings. This is the only way to keep everyone in check and receive benefits and ensure that I’ll never have to deal with rats in our new church," Aurianna gave him a cold look.

’I would never trust someone again unless they’re completely under my control. Last time I trusted I was betrayed, over and over again. This way, I’ll never experience something like that once more.’ Aurianna thought.

"But we haven’t heard of this white Gemaris goddess you keep talking about?" a female healer complained.

"Avriel, have you gotten rid of them?" Aurianna asked through mind communication.

"Yes, every single one is totes dead," Avriel responded in a joyful tone.

"That’s good, now it’s time."

All of a sudden a white light spread throughout the entire Altar room, blinding everyone. Once the light was gone, there was a throne right next to Aurianna. In it sat a beautiful figure. The figure was a woman, who had a similar likeness to Aurianna except that she looked more mature and beautiful.

"Why does she look similar to the Saintess?" a priest asked with a frown as she stared at the woman.

"First of all, my name is Eva, I’m known as the White Gemaris Goddess. The reason Aurianna looks like me is because she’s my Apostle and my apostles would have similar features to mine." As she explained she spoke in a polite and sweet manner. Her posture in the cloudy throne chair was very dignified as her bright Jewel shaped eyes scanned the crowd. All who gazed at her were captivated. Captivated by her words, her looks, and her mere presence.

The priest who questioned her previously seemed content with the answer, being silent now.

Seeing that all eyes were on her, Eva continued, "Such poor children, you’ve all suffered so much."
