Sacred Flame: His Enemy, His Mate (BL)-Chapter 19: First floor
Chapter 19: First floor
Kain Locke
Omegas were losing themselves, writhing and moaning as they threw themselves at Betas like animals in heat.
Some of them had already given in, collapsing into tangled bodies and senselessly fucking right there on the floor.
The least of my concern wasn't my heart which was thumping loudly in my chest at the consuming heat that was taking its toll on me making my limbs weak and heart pulsing erratically.
But the fact that Alec grip was firmly holding mine, so hard it could break it, in his eyes was something feral, a hot and burning desire,
Something doesn't add up here,
This isn't right.
Betas aren't supposed to be affected like this. Even with the air saturated in Omega heat, even with every single Omega in the room trembling and desperate, Alec shouldn't be reacting like this. Because he's a Beta who shouldn't be affected at all by pheromones in the first place.

And yet, here he was, his body tense with something raw and overwhelming, his fingers digging into my skin hard enough to bruise.
Before I could make sense of it, he yanked me forward, so fast, and rough I crashed into his chest, my breath catching as a sharp, intoxicating scent wrapped around me. His pheromones. It was very thick.
I swayed, my face flushing red.
"A-Alec..." My voice came out so weak I could hardly believe it belonged to me.
But instead of listening , his eyes glowed more, then his fingers curled around the front of my shirt, and with one harsh tug, the buttons of my thin shirt snapped off, scattering across the floor.
Before I could react, he had me turned, and shoved against the cold floor as he fell and pressed his body on me sooner after.
Panic flared through my entire body as my hands scrambled against the slick surface, trying to push up, trying to move, but my strength was fading fast. And the floor was too slippery to hold on to.
Even if it wasn't, I doubt it would've helped a thing.
"L-Let go...Alec... let go o-f me..." The words were very weak. My body was betraying me as fast, this is bad, really bad, and it was even worse because I knew the situation around us was spiraling.
So no one cared whether someone was forcing another given that the Omegas were also clinging to any Beta in sight, desperate and lost to their heat.
Even the Alphas who shouldn't have been anywhere near this place were here now, apparently have been drawn in by the scent that must have leaked out into the halls, maybe even the second floor.
Alec's hand suddenly went to my trousers waistband and meant to pull it down.
No, no, I couldn't let this happen. Not when a situation similar to this five years ago had caught me up In this very mess.
So there's no way I would allow myself to be sullied like this, even though every inch of me was hot with heat, I couldn't allow it to completely cloud my senses or I'll be damned.
Thus, I forced my body to move, digging my nails into Alec's wrist, twisting hard beneath him with every bit of strength I had left. Then huffed out a breath as I jabbed him in his groin with my knees and he gasped, his grip slipped just enough for me to rip my arm free and shoved my elbow back, catching him in the ribs.
He grunted, his hold loosening for a fraction of a second. And that was all I needed.
As I pushed against the floor even though it was slippery with sweat, but a drowning man would clutch at a straw.
I didn't even know how I did it, but I just scrambled up, stumbling forward on shaky legs, my vision was already getting affected as a person is turning two, but I had no time to recover, seeing that Alec was also recovering on the floor, and the last thing I want is being yanked by him,
I wasn't so sure if I'd be able to get out if that were to happen again, so I ran, shoving past a group of Omegas tangled together, ignoring the desperate hands that reached for me.
But one dreadful thing about pheromones is that they draw people like ants to honeycombs.
An Alpha caught my scent and turned, his golden eyes glowing with interest, but I didn't stop. I ducked, darting sideways just as he lunged, his fingers grazing my wrist managing to dig and dragged his nails on it, drawing out stripes that were quick to bring out blood before I tore myself away.
The exit. I needed to get to the exit.
That was all I had in mind as I shoved my way forward, and fortunately I did get to the main entrance door.
However, the hallway was worse. The pheromones here were too strong.
And to make it worse more Alphas were here now, too many of them, some were already half-dressed,
Weren't there supposed to be security guards to get this situation under control?
The fact that only a few Beta's were restraining naked Alpha's, separating them from the Omega's in the hallway made me know the situation was already out of control.
Alpha are originally stronger than Beta. So most of the Beta's choose to join the party.
I didn't make eye contact. I kept running even though my chest was tightening, and I'm suffocating as such I couldn't help latching at the wall to stop myself from falling to the ground, where no doubt Alpha's will come swarming the next second.
A Beta glanced in my direction, his pupils weren't like Alecs, but it dilated nevertheless and his hands twitching at his sides like he was fighting against himself.
I didn't give him the chance to decide whether to jump on me or not, because I know he's going to.
It's called instincts after all.
I pushed away from the wall at once and shoved him hard, sending him stumbling into the wall. He reached a hand to draw me closer, but it caught my shirt instead.
So I couldn't escape unless..
I let go of the shirt, having no buttons helped a great deal, the moment it was off, I didn't even wait as I bolted for the closest exit.
Fortunately ,it turned out to be an emergency one.
My fingers slammed against the door handle and twisted it.
But unfortunately, it was Locked.
I've always known I'm not good with luck, but it shouldn't be revealing itself at this moment. I needed as much to get the hell out of this place, not even when I glanced back and saw the Alpha and Beta from earlier along with two others coming my way.
No—
I turned, as I glanced about and my gaze eventually landed on a staircase.
I didn't know where this led to, all I wanted was to be out of here, so I just moved, pushing through the door and stumbling up the steps two at a time. My legs were weak, trembling, but I couldn't stop, I can't..
Not until I was out of this place.
Not until I was safe.
I chanted it in my head like a mantra, even though my eyes were closing, and my breath was running out, but I was still moving, one step, two steps, three steps... until I got to a floor.
It was simply too quiet like no one was residing here, even if anyone were, I doubt they were around because it was the exact opposite of the party floor.
I didn't waste a second as I stumbled onto the empty floor, barely making it past the door before my legs gave out.
My back hit the cold wall as I slid down,
It was like the moment I realized no one was following me anymore, the exhaustion and the heat I'd been fighting choosed to slam into me like a wave,
The heat crashed over me all at once unbearably. My thighs clenched involuntarily, as my vision blurred, my mouth gasping and puffing hot breath.
No. No, no, no.
Not now.
I bit down on my lip so hard I tasted blood. My hands curled into fists as I pressed them against the floor, trying to ground myself, trying to fight it. But the ache inside me only grew worse, spreading through my limbs like fire.
I wanted to scream.
I wanted to cry.
I wanted this to stop.
But I couldn't.
However, there came a quiet click of a door opening, but it was loud due to how empty the hallway is.
Then, footsteps.
One. Two. Three.
Very slow and measured.
It was coming closer.
Step
Step
I stiffened, my body instinctively curling in on itself, trying to make myself smaller, or invisible, but then—
The scent hit me.
A familiar, deep and strong scent.
Not anything like the overwhelming pheromones in the party room. Not the sickly-sweet desperation of Omegas or the thick, aggressive scent of hungry Alphas.
This was different.
This was... grounding. That same scent of that familiar dominant Alpha.
This was... something I craved.
My fingers twitched against the cold floor as the footsteps stopped right in front of me. His pheromones wrapping around me, making me tremble and crave more.
Then came the calm voice I recognized immediately,
"Why did you come to the first floor looking like this?"
This was the first floor?
I barely had time to process anything before strong hands grabbed me. And just like that, he yanked me up and pulled me into his chest.
