Ruling the Historical Romance Novel as the Female Supporting Character-Chapter 182: Why Ploted Against Ze’s Mother?!
"Hello, could you help us call Uncle Xia?" Su Yijia politely requested.
Upon hearing her voice, Xia Weiguo hurriedly came out. "Yijia, what’s going on? I’ll finish in a moment."
"Uncle Xia, Kaize wants to see Qin Zongyao being interrogated," Su Yijia explained.
Xia Weiguo furrowed his brow, looking concerned and troubled. After all, that was Ze’s biological father. The past was too complex, and he truly didn’t want Ze to know too many details. But Ze was the real victim, and he was the most entitled to know everything.
"Well... alright then," Xia Weiguo took a deep breath and agreed.
Su Yijia escorted Qin Kaize into the interrogation room. It was a large room with several smaller rooms inside, and Qin Zongyao was in one of them. When he saw Su Yijia enter, his originally mocking expression contorted into a grimace. He attempted to stand up forcefully, but the staff next to him firmly held his shoulders.
"Behave!" They reprimanded sternly. Though Qin Zongyao wasn’t afraid of their scolding, he couldn’t muster the strength to stand up, ultimately submitting.
"Su Yijia, do you think you’ve won by scheming our deaths? No matter what, I am still Kaize’s biological father. If not for you, I wouldn’t die. Do you think he won’t feel disgusted seeing you in the future?" Qin Zongyao sneered sarcastically.
He might have lost, but this despicable person lost as well.
"Wow, you’re quite audacious! Do you really think Kaize will consider you his biological father?" Su Yijia rolled her eyes, unfazed. She wasn’t the one deciding to pursue this matter; it was Kaize’s insistence. If he tried to blame her for it, she wouldn’t entertain it. A male lead with cerebral palsy—whatever penalties the system imposed were fair game.
"I won’t," Qin Kaize hastily explained, nervous when he saw Su Yijia looking over at him.
Satisfied, Su Yijia pulled a chair and sat beside him, positioning herself slightly forward so that she was within Qin Kaize’s line of sight. This way, she could turn her head slightly and still see him.
Xia Weiguo glanced at the two youngsters and, finding they had no intention to ask questions, spoke up himself. "What exactly did Ze’s mother do to provoke you? Why did you want to harm her? If you don’t like her, you can divorce her! Are you even human?!"
As he looked at Qin Zongyao again, his eyes reflected deep-seated hatred, as if he wanted to tear him apart.
But Qin Zongyao, who had already lost all sense of fear, didn’t flinch. After all, he was destined to die. What was there to be afraid of?
"I like her! I like her so much, so I can’t let her go! If I let her go, then it’s all over for you, isn’t it? Even if she’s dead, the inscription on the tombstone will read ’the wife of Qin Zongyao.’" Qin Zongyao smirked smugly, a sight that made people want to beat him to a pulp.
Su Yijia glanced at Qin Kaize, then back at the trembling Xia Weiguo, and calmly said, "Uncle Xia, he’s deliberately provoking you, hoping to provoke you into hitting him."
Even though Qin Zongyao deserved a good beating, falling into his trap wasn’t necessary. The higher Xia Weiguo’s status, the more he needed to act sensibly. A mistake could have significant consequences. At least five or six years, there’s no possibility of promotion.
Deeply inhaling at these words, Xia Weiguo adjusted himself back onto the chair.
Su Yijia then turned to Qin Zongyao. "Later tonight, we’ll go and change the tombstone to Uncle Xia’s name."
"No! That’s my wife! You can’t do this!" Qin Zongyao stared at her, eyes bulging like copper bells.
Su Yijia shrugged indifferently. "You’re not coming out anyway. We can do whatever we want. Besides, there’s no legal requirement. After Uncle Xia dies in his bed, I’ll arrange for his body to be buried with my mother-in-law. As for you, just be cremated and scattered in any random pit."
"You’re talking nonsense! Shut up! Qin Kaize is my son. He won’t treat me like this!" Qin Zongyao struggled as if he were going mad. However, he was pinned down so tightly, he couldn’t move a muscle.
"I will." Qin Kaize expressed his decision, regardless of whether he could be understood or not.
Having confirmed his response, Su Yijia smiled happily. "Sorry, Kaize agrees too. You’ll have to face it now."
Qin Kaize blinked twice. Now, Qin Zongyao was entirely at a loss. He remembered Su Yijia had said that two blinks meant agreement.
"Impossible! You ungrateful child! I’m your father! How can you treat me like this?! Even though I haven’t been good to you over these years, I haven’t treated you badly. How can you let me die without peace of mind?" Qin Zongyao was both angry and anxious, wishing to quickly scold Qin Kaize awake.
He knew his eldest son’s temperament better than anyone else. Once he decided on something, it was impossible to change his mind, even if a hundred cows were pulling at him.
"But you’re also his mother’s killer," Su Yijia reminded.
"Shut up, you scoundrel!" Qin Zongyao roared in frustration. "It’s all your fault, you wretch! If it weren’t for you, our family wouldn’t be in this state! And my son wouldn’t treat me like this!"
"You go ahead and fume in your helplessness," Su Yijia rolled her eyes. She had already dealt a few harsh blows; let’s see how much fight he had left.
However, Qin Zongyao suddenly chuckled. "I still have Mingcheng! I’ll insist that only he can handle my affairs after I’m gone."
"Do you think I’ll let him frolic around freely outside?" Su Yijia delivered another verbal blow without waiting for Xia Weiguo to speak.
This froze the smile that had begun to form on Qin Zongyao’s lips. He looked to the nearby staff for help. "Did you hear that? This is how they’ve plotted against our family! I’m wronged. They’ve conspired to get me in here."
But the staff ignored him, giving Su Yijia a slight reminder glance. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
Su Yijia blinked innocently. "What I meant is, his son he’s talking about was emotionally disturbed by this incident yesterday. The neighbors complained about him, and if he causes problems again, I’ll have to send him to a mental hospital. I’m a law-abiding citizen; I wouldn’t seek revenge through extreme measures."
Su Yijia’s words left those people feeling twitchy. But what could they say? They couldn’t say anything. Instead, they could only go along with it. After all, the one committing crime was someone else. One might say that the perpetrator was only orchestrating. But what about the murder case from over two decades ago? She merely unearthed the things these people had done wrong, which almost made these government employees appear a bit useless.
