Roadmap to the Boundless Sky-Chapter 192Book 3, : Powerful
When Big Sis Huan saw Chen Chuan suddenly appear in front of her and the saber swing down with such force that it looked like it could cut through her clean, her pupils shrank in fear.
But she didn’t dodge. With her momentum, she generated refined force from her waist and back and sent it to the tips of the dual spikes. Then, she jabbed them at a certain point of the saber.
Clang! Clang!
She managed to knock the saber away.
Even though it was just a brief clash to divert the saber from its course, Big Sis Huan sensed its strength, and it caused her body to tilt to one side.
When Chen Chuan was about to reposition his saber, he sensed strong gusts of wind coming from his sides, and the ground trembled. The remaining two team members had gotten accustomed to their new strength and closed in on him.
They had worked together with Big Sis Huan multiple times, so the moment they saw her actions, they knew what she was trying to do.
She was slowing Chen Chuan’s movements with a head-on clash, which gave them an opportunity to ambush him.
They seized the chance she created and moved into Chen Chuan’s space. Then, together, they used lockdown maneuvers on him.
In their original plan, someone would engage Chen Chuan and hold him back, while the others would look for chances to hold him back with lockdowns or grappling techniques so that he didn’t have any room to move or bring out his strength.
Big Sis Huan also had a technique called the Heart Piercing Thrust. If she had enough momentum, she could move much faster than before. As long as they could limit Chen Chuan’s movements for even just a short moment, she could use her technique to attack him.
Big Sis Huan had begun adjusting her breath when they charged over. At that moment, she stopped moving for a moment and bent her knees slightly as she positioned the dual spikes in front of her. She was about to lunge forward.
Her back muscles rippled like waves under her skintight suit. It was a sign that her mutated tissue was gathering power.
Chen Chuan let go of the Frost King Saber when the two people were about to grab him and extended his arms to seize their thick arms.
They felt a wave of refined force charging into them, and half of their bodies instantly turned numb. In an instant, they realized that this was a grappling-type refined force. Shock and rage appeared on their faces.
Big Sis Huan had gotten ready when Chen Chuan took hold of the two people. With a stomp on the ground that left behind a pit under her feet, she charged forward like a released arrow. Gravel exploded behind her.
Chen Chuan let go of the two people and grabbed the Frost King Saber before it could fall on the ground. With a quick diagonal swing upward, he parried the dual spikes and pushed them aside. He was successful, but the power contained in the dual spikes when they were pressed together was still impressive, and Chen Chuan was actually pushed back quite a distance.
Big Sis Huan also tumbled back when Chen Chuan parried her attack. If he had seized the chance to press forward, she wouldn’t have been able to fend against his attacks. Fortunately, her team members had recovered from their numbness.
With enraged shouts, they closed in on Chen Chuan again. Their faces were flushed red as their bodies burned hotly and grew in size. The thick scent of medicine was practically oozing out of their pores.
The moment they raised their legs, Chen Chuan let go of the Frost King Saber again, as if he had already predicted their movements. He reached out and seized their extended elbow and wrist.
Just like last time, their bodies turned numb and were robbed of the ability to move. Their faces twisted in savagery. They couldn’t understand how Chen Chuan was able to so accurately predict how they were going to attack. It looked as if they were delivering themselves to him to be beaten up.
Simply put, that was because they were moving within the range of Chen Chuan’s biofield and did not bother to hide their own biofields. They might as well have been displaying their information, movement rhythm, and intentions to Chen Chuan in bright neon lights.
Big Sis Huan was still adjusting her breathing after landing, but when she saw Chen Chuan grabbing her two team members again, she knew that if she didn’t do anything, they were most likely going to get killed. Hence, she hurriedly generated refined force and thrust her dual spikes forward.
Chen Chuan already had a grasp of her attack pattern. This time, he leapt forward. When he moved past the two team members, he grabbed the still airborne Frost King Saber, brought it up high, gripped the hilt tightly, and swung it down at Big Sis Huan’s head.
Big Sis Huan’s expression tensed. If they charged at each other head-on, the saber was bound to land first. Even if she didn’t die from it and was able to pierce Chen Chuan, she might be unable to deal much damage to him with her remaining strength.
Hence, she chose to plant her feet on the ground and turn to the side to avoid the attack.
But when the saber swung down until it was right in front of her, it stopped, as if Chen Chuan had been expecting Big Sis Huan to make this choice. The sheath shot off the saber in a straight line due to Chen Chuan pushing it outward with refined force.
Big Sis Huan had been moving to the side when she noticed this. Her expression changed to one of anxiety.
Chen Chuan, though, remained calm. With both hands around the hilt, he turned around and brought the saber over his head. Then, he swung his saber down diagonally, and the blade flashed as it passed by the two team members lunging at him.
In an instant, their limbs were separated from their bodies while they were still airborne. Due to inertia, they continued charging forward. The severed parts fell on the ground one by one, spreading out and rolling forward until they were far, far away from Chen Chuan and Big Sis Huan.
Chen Chuan stayed in place after finishing his attack. A strong gust of wind blew, and the smoke on the flyover drifted past him. The blood by his feet spread out as well.
He looked behind him and saw that Big Sis Huan had come close. A hint of fear shone in her eyes before it disappeared. Only a dead calmness remained.
Chen Chuan could tell that at this point, Big Sis Huan had cast aside all concern for her own survival.
She sucked in a deep breath and knocked her dual spikes together before separating them. Her biofield shot outward.
Her mutated tissue started fighting to move out of her body. Bulges appeared under her skintight suit. Even her muscles and bones changed.
This was her releasing all the blood essence she had gathered and utilizing the foundation of her mind fully, now that she no longer cared whether she was going to make it out alive. Her mutated tissue also noticed that she was in a life-and-death situation and started their final, desperate struggle by releasing their full potential.
Chen Chuan stood still and watched her calmly while wisps of white steam rose from him. Even with the wind blowing against him, the white steam didn’t disappear.
Slowly, Big Sis Huan squatted down with her eyes fixed on Chen Chuan. Veins bulged on her face and forehead, and her body temperature rose rapidly.
She knew that with the two team members no longer present to hold Chen Chuan back, she was bound to die the moment her attack failed. So, this last strike was her only chance, and she was going to put everything she had into it.
A moment later, she stomped down, and power rose from her feet to her waist and back. With mutated tissue pushing her forward, she lunged at Chen Chuan, and all the power of her lunge gathered in the dual spikes.
She moved as fast as lightning, like there was no thought of consequences in her mind. When she was close to Chen Chuan, she flung her arms and threw the dual spikes at him.
The moment Chen Chuan saw the dual spikes coming at him at a speed faster than Big Sis Huan was moving, he brought the saber up and blocked one of them. However, he was unable to block the other one, and it looked like it was about to pierce his brain.
Hope rose in Big Sis Huan’s heart, but the spike only pierced Chen Chuan’s afterimage and stabbed into the guardrail more than thirty meters behind him. It went in so deep that the entire spike was embedded into the guardrail. Some parts of it even came out the other side.
Big Sis Huan was dumbfounded, but since she had used too much strength, her body continued moving forward due to inertia. Just then, she felt a hand on the side of her neck as Chen Chuan let her crash into him.
Snap.
He broke her neck.
Chen Chuan’s arm was positioned horizontally as he looked at Big Sis Huan hanging limply over his arm. All strength seeped out of her body. Her hanging feet were a distance away from touching the ground, and her hair spilled over the back of his hand as well as her face. Even so, he could feel that she was still alive through sheer stubbornness.
Big Sis Huan used the tremors of her muscles to ask, “How?”
Knowing that she was asking about how he managed to avoid the final attack, Chen Chuan answered honestly, “You missed. Sorry.”
He had used his biofield for it. Since Big Sis Huan had utilized the full potential of her mental foundation and all her blood essence for the final attack, she ended up overstimulating her mutated tissue. The emotions that burst forward caused her senses to be extremely susceptible to external interferences.
Chen Chuan had noticed the changes and exploited her weakness by sending some incorrect biofield information to her.
Even though this could only cause a bit of interference for a short second, they were fighting at a high speed, and this slight error was enough to lead to completely different results.
The result might have been the same if he had chosen to face the attack head-on. If the situation hadn’t been so dire and he could use his technique to end the fight, he would have.
Just then, he heard propellers in the distance and looked up. Two small, white airships were flying over. He could see Border Fusion’s emblem on them, along with the nose-mounted machine guns hanging below it.
Chen Chuan had marked this part of the flyover on the route he passed to Meng Shu, because this place was right in the middle of White Bird District and Central City. It was the only part where the Resolution Department officers would have a hard time making it on time to help him. Because of that, he had Border Fusion rent a place and station its airships nearby in order for them to come on time to help him exterminate the enemies.
The airships had started flying over the moment the motorcade was attacked. Now, they had arrived.
Chen Chuan noticed something and turned to Big Sis Huan. She had breathed her last, not because her body had given out on her, but because she had taken her own life.
He lowered his arm and put her on the ground before picking up the Frost King Saber. Then, he moved through the smoke toward his car.
