I Became Part of the Dragon's Hoard-Chapter 75: The Red Dawn
To Rephe’s question, Valerie shrugged. "The girl herself said it was quite normal where she came from. She was fundamentally not made of magic, but now she is. I see no problem with this at all. Even if the veil was crossed, it only happened once in thousands of years."
The white dragon shook her head and gave Valerie a wry smile. "You can always be so carefree, but no matter how strong you are, there will come a time when you seek help from others. It has already happened, no?"
Bery wondered what Rephe was talking about and why the dragon was looking at her specifically.
Rephe took a sip from her wooden mug. "You haven’t told her anything about yourself have you?"
Valerie sighed. "I have told her things when she asked for them. It’s not like I want to hide my past from her, but I can’t force topics that don’t need forcing. Isn’t that what led you to your own desolation?"
Rephe chuckled. "I suppose you are right. Then that means you would be willing to share the story of Primordial Dragons?
"I think I already touched on the edges, but if my kitten wants to know, then she shall know."

When Valerie first hatched out of an egg, there was nothing. The entire world was covered with desert as far as the eye could see. In all directions, only barren wasteland existed. Her egg hatched beneath a scorching sun in red hot land. Fiery sand existed beneath her toes, but it did nothing to her new existence.
From the very second that her soul existed in this realm, she felt the calling of magic around her. Her slit eyes took in the world in all of the four dimensions. The dimension of magic was as open to her as the physical dimensions.
Valericae had no name, no parents, and nothing but endless heat. The world was small, but for a singular dragon, it was plenty. The instant she flapped her wings and took to the skies, she became the queen of her solitary world. It existed beneath her to be molded how she saw fit.
Yet, she knew that her world was not the only one. All around her, celestial bodies hovered in orbit around a great star.
There was her fiery red planet, a distant frozen white planet, a planet of pitch black, a blue planet made of nothing but water, a green planet made of nothing but plants, a rocky planet, and so many more. All of them orbited around the star, and all of them pulled on each other with the gravity of the primordial dragons that existed here.
None of them knew how they came to be, but they all knew of each other’s existence. And it wouldn’t be long before problems started to rise.
Each dragon had something that others coveted. There was one common trait shared among all of the primordial dragons, and that was their greed. The rock dragon wanted a piece of the nature dragon’s land. The nature dragon wanted water to feed her plants. And the water dragon wanted ice to cool her waters beneath the starlight.
Valericae was no different than the others. She’d coveted the stars and everything beneath them.
The endless want of the dragons drove their planets closer together, and eventually there came a point when all of them collided. A silent covenant was signed when their planets joined to become one. They shared the bounty of an enormous world.
But there were consequences when worlds collide. They bring about something new. Something that none of the dragons had wanted or expected. They brought about spirits and life. The joining of their mana created spirits, and those spirits became fairies.
Other signs of life started to sprout beneath the sea. When nature touched water, it created plankton and flora on the sea bed. Corral reefs started to form. In the north, the ice started to spread, so the primordial water dragon finally had a cool place to swim.
Though, with all of this room for everyone, it was still not enough. The primordial drakes kept growing in strength, and the planet kept expanding. The more mana they drew in, the more plentiful life forms became.
And with a high mass of mana, mana sensors can detect it all over the globe. Each dragon realized that all of the other dragons were gaining power, and eventually the silent covenant had broken.
For the first time in their existence, one of the primordial dragons destroyed another.
Green destroyed Brown, coveting all of the soil that she could ask for. Though, the battle had left her far from healthy. The other dragons didn’t take long to realize that Green was weak.
And this time, it was Valericae. The red dragon had spent all of her time growing inside of treacherous volcanoes. She was one of the first to realize that magic was a journey of refinement.
The magma that flowed around her became like a river for her to control, and she sharpened that river into a point. With a pointed mind and a hunger for power, she did not need to wait.
Valericae—The Red Tyrant—flapped her wings that day, and she committed the second sin of her kind. She murdered Green. She chose to judge the dragon with her own claws and scales. Though she called it judgment, it was all an excuse for her to deal the final blow to one of her brethren.
Her breath formed into a pointed spear of destroying flames, and she erased the weakened Green with one attack. It was total annihilation, and it felt amazing. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
Valericae felt the power of her fallen enemy flow into her body. The rush of mana grew her size, and her consuming flames gained a new bonus. The nature added fuel for her fire, and her new heat burned white hot.
After this act, disaster spread across the entire world. The dragons became beings of chaos. They destroyed the life they’d created, and each of them destroyed each other, until there were only three of them left.

"And that’s why we’re called Eternal. We’ve been around since the dawn. Since before the gods even walked this plane."
Bery’s ears wiggled as she listened. The more she heard, the more unbelievable it was. Valerie was around before the world was even formed. She was even older than Kanai who she called her goddess. But, if Valerie was around as an egg, who created Valerie?
Valerie glanced at the kitten’s eyes and smiled. "Are you getting distracted? Perhaps it’s a good time to call it quits." The dragoness looked towards the other white dragon and sighed. "I can’t believe you called me here to explain all of this."
Rephe grinned. "This and the one you call Yuri were not the only reasons I brought you here. There is actually something much more pressing."
"More pressing than either of those things?"
"Of course! It is the manner of the wedding between the both of you! I must be invited!"
Valerie’s eyes widened, and then she started laughing in exasperation. "All of this for a wedding invitation?"
