Soon, another car arrived, and two more people got off the car. After whispering with the first two people, the four of them slowly approached the entrance of the courtyard, holding their guns.

He pulled Aunt Susan aside and asked loudly:

“Who is it?”

“Open the door!” The visitor, having heard Sean’s voice, was excited. “We are here on Jason’s errand.”

Aunt Susan looked at Sean, who knew that there was no way they came on Jason’s behalf.

If Jason had something important, he would directly make a phone call!

“You guys can leave. It’s too late, you are not welcome at this time!”

“Open up! We have urgent business!” The visitor was eager to deceive them into opening the door, yelling louder, which only increased Sean’s suspicions.

“Mrs. Susan, do you have a gun here?” Sean asked quietly.

He had already guessed that these people were likely after the money he had earned!

“You’re saying they’re robbers?” Aunt Susan instantly flared up and pulled a hunting rifle from behind the sofa!

Sean also pulled out his pistol and watched the door outside cautiously.

Sean was actually very nervous; he smiled stiffly at Susan’s words and then hurriedly crouched down to turn off the light.

The people outside probably realized that they couldn’t trick anyone into opening the door, so they broke the glass of the door and reached in to twist the handle of the lock.

Aunt Susan raised her hand and fired a shot!

The double-barreled shotgun was powerful; the person reaching in was blown away before he could unlock the door!

People outside immediately took cover and began firing through the door and windows!

Bullets flying everywhere, Sean had no choice but to clumsily drop to the ground!

Sean fired several shots until he ran out of bullets. The car drove out a few meters before swerving off the road and stalling.

Sean immediately ran back, reloading his gun as he went.

Aunt Susan stood in the doorway with a hunting rifle, smiling when she saw Sean was safe:

“Sean, I’m glad you’re okay. You were too reckless just now!”

“Thanks,” Sean said sincerely, “I brought trouble to all of you…”

“It’s not your fault. These people are just evil,” Aunt Susan said clearly. “You don’t have to take responsibility for this. Oh, we need to call the police!”

They called the police, and a few minutes later, the police car arrived.

By now, Sean and Aunt Susan had put away their guns. Seeing the cautious policemen, Sean knew he couldn’t make any sudden moves at this moment.

“Who called the police?” A policeman shouted.

“Me!” Aunt Susan said loudly. “We were resting when they smashed our door and opened fire, intending to rob us. We fought back, that’s all.”

The police checked the four individuals and found bullet shells and traces on the ground, corroborating Aunt Susan’s story.

After verifying the identities of the four people and taking statements, the situation was more or less settled.

They had come to steal Sean’s money but hadn’t expected to be trapped here.
