Chapter 60 -60: Frenzied Attack!

When Sean returned to Susan’s house, it was already dark.

Entering the house, Sean instinctively locked the door behind him, and Susan was watching television in the living room.

Seeing Sean come in, Susan enthusiastically asked:

“Sean, have you eaten?”

“I’ve eaten,” Sean replied with a smile. “Mrs. Susan, I’m going to rest first.”

“Alright then.” Susan originally planned to chat with Sean because she knew that Linda’s father was prejudiced against Chinese people. She wanted to talk to Sean about it.

In Susan’s eyes, Sean was down-to-earth, hardworking, and able to make money without any bad addictions. He seemed to be a good choice.

Moreover, her daughter Linda was also quite interested in Sean.

Sean went upstairs, washed up briefly, and lay on the bed, intending to plan his money-making strategy for tomorrow and beyond.

From outside, someone in a pickup truck kept an eye on Sean’s movement. After seeing the light on the second floor, they started making calls asking for more people.

Soon, another car arrived, and two more people got off the car. After whispering with the first two people, the four of them slowly approached the entrance of the courtyard, holding their guns.

Unlocking the door from the inside, they entered the courtyard one by one. One of them circled the courtyard and came back to whisper:

“There’s no back door.”

“Let’s go in directly!”

The leading person carried a pistol in one hand and proceeded to knock on the door with the other.

“Who is it?” Aunt Susan shouted from inside.

“Open up!” The person knocking on the door rudely said, “I’m looking for the Chinese boy upstairs!”

Susan hesitated for a moment and shouted at the stairway:

“Sean, someone’s looking for you!”

Sean, still somewhat dazed, got up and was about to open the door when Aunt Susan stopped him:

“Ask who it is.”

Sean immediately realized that this was not China!

He pulled Aunt Susan aside and asked loudly:

“Who is it?”

“Open the door!” The visitor, having heard Sean’s voice, was excited. “We are here on Jason’s errand.”

Aunt Susan looked at Sean, who knew that there was no way they came on Jason’s behalf.

If Jason had something important, he would directly make a phone call!

“You guys can leave. It’s too late, you are not welcome at this time!”

“Open up! We have urgent business!” The visitor was eager to deceive them into opening the door, yelling louder, which only increased Sean’s suspicions.

“Mrs. Susan, do you have a gun here?” Sean asked quietly.

He had already guessed that these people were likely after the money he had earned!

“You’re saying they’re robbers?” Aunt Susan instantly flared up and pulled a hunting rifle from behind the sofa!

Sean also pulled out his pistol and watched the door outside cautiously.

“Sean, I’ve heard that many Chinese people believe in spending money to buy peace. I used to look down on that, but now it seems you are a real man!”

Sean was actually very nervous; he smiled stiffly at Susan’s words and then hurriedly crouched down to turn off the light.

The people outside probably realized that they couldn’t trick anyone into opening the door, so they broke the glass of the door and reached in to twist the handle of the lock.

“Bang!”

Aunt Susan raised her hand and fired a shot!

The double-barreled shotgun was powerful; the person reaching in was blown away before he could unlock the door!

However, the door was also blown apart!

People outside immediately took cover and began firing through the door and windows!

Bullets flying everywhere, Sean had no choice but to clumsily drop to the ground!

Damn it, they were bullying him!

There are a lot of people, right?

I have an extraordinary ability!

Sean Knight activated his Sky Eye and saw four people outside, one of them injured. Another one dragged the injured person away, while the remaining two shot from the window and door.

Sean raised his gun and shot at the person outside the window!

“Ah—!”

The person outside screamed in pain, obviously wounded.

Aunt Susan reloaded her gun, shouting:

“Sean, nice shooting! Hit another one!”

Sean didn’t have time to respond. He had aimed for the head, but only wounded the person’s arm.

It seemed that gunfights were completely different from target practice.

The flying bullets definitely affected his accuracy!

Activating his Sky Eye again, Sean noticed that two people were still shooting, and the person who had dragged the injured one away had returned, now wielding a semi-automatic rifle!

The thin wooden walls couldn’t block the bullets, as wood chips, glass, and bullets flew all over the place!

One uninjured person took the opportunity to reach the entrance and opened the door!

Sean lifted his gun, but the person was extremely alert and rolled to the side to avoid being hit!

Meanwhile, the person with the automatic rifle seemed to have determined Sean’s location, firing several shots nearby!

“Damn it!” Aunt Susan finished reloading and fired two more shots through the broken window!

Iron pellets sprayed outside, forcing the attackers to dodge. Sean took the opportunity to roll to the other side of the door, activated his Sky Eye, and fired two shots at the person with the rifle!

That person was instantly hit, screamed in pain, dropped the gun, and pressed on the wound while crawling desperately towards the courtyard exit!

Only one person left!

Sean activated his Sky Eye to search for the target but was surprised to find the person had already jumped out of the courtyard and was running towards the car!

He couldn’t let him escape!

Sean quickly stood up and rushed outside!

“Sean, you can’t be so reckless!” Aunt Susan shouted anxiously.

Sean had no time to explain, as he burst out of the courtyard and saw the uninjured person driving the car away!

“Bang, bang, bang, bang!”

Sean fired several shots until he ran out of bullets. The car drove out a few meters before swerving off the road and stalling.

Sean immediately ran back, reloading his gun as he went.

Aunt Susan stood in the doorway with a hunting rifle, smiling when she saw Sean was safe:

“Sean, I’m glad you’re okay. You were too reckless just now!”

“Thanks,” Sean said sincerely, “I brought trouble to all of you…”

“It’s not your fault. These people are just evil,” Aunt Susan said clearly. “You don’t have to take responsibility for this. Oh, we need to call the police!”

They called the police, and a few minutes later, the police car arrived.

By now, Sean and Aunt Susan had put away their guns. Seeing the cautious policemen, Sean knew he couldn’t make any sudden moves at this moment.

“Who called the police?” A policeman shouted.

“Me!” Aunt Susan said loudly. “We were resting when they smashed our door and opened fire, intending to rob us. We fought back, that’s all.”

The police checked the four individuals and found bullet shells and traces on the ground, corroborating Aunt Susan’s story.

After verifying the identities of the four people and taking statements, the situation was more or less settled.

They had come to steal Sean’s money but hadn’t expected to be trapped here.

In their minds, Chinese people were timid and weak, easily cowed into giving up their money.

They had also gathered information about the courtyard, knowing that there was usually just an old woman living there.

They never expected that a seemingly weak Chinese man and an old woman could team up and take them all down!
