Chapter 34 -34: This is my favorite kind of bet!
After parting ways with Robert, Sean carried the will and returned to his rental place.
Linda greeted Sean with a smile, but Sean didn’t say a word and went inside.
His mood was a bit off.
In fact, if it wasn’t for the attack, or if his grandfather had said something and he retrieved the jade pendant, Sean wouldn’t have planned to confront Elson Johnson.
If they had discussed things nicely, Sean might have really given up on the inheritance.
After all, when his uncle was struggling, it was Elson who was by his side.
But, for the sake of money, trying to kill him, he could not bear it anymore.
However, this was not what his uncle wanted to see.
So Sean’s mood wasn’t very good.
Linda’s curiosity about Sean was squashed and she felt somewhat indignant.
Susan at the back said:
“What’s the matter? Do you feel that Sean’s attitude towards you isn’t very good?”
“Yes, too perfunctory!”
Susan smiled and said:
“Maybe something is upsetting him. After all, Sean is just a big boy, and he can’t always maintain a good mood. People, after all, always have troubles.”
With these words spoken, Linda inexplicably stopped being angry.
She felt her mother was right, and she should comfort Sean.
When Linda knocked on the door with the pie, Sean was reading.
Today’s events had made Sean feel that learning more local culture and knowledge was quite useful. Wasn’t this trip to earn more than 20,000 dollars clear proof?
Linda didn’t expect Sean to be reading, and was somewhat surprised:
“Do treasure hunters like you still need to read?”
Sean’s mood had already calmed down.
He had a clear goal in mind: not only to get back what belonged to him, but also to punish those who hurt him!

So, facing Linda’s question, Sean smiled and said:
“We Chinese have a saying: there’s a champion in every trade. Every line of work has its own knowledge to learn, and we treasure hunters need to understand the value of what we find… ”
Linda nodded, seemingly understanding.
Seeing that she didn’t quite understand, Sean recounted today’s events.
Linda was very surprised:
“You earned 20,000 dollars today?”
Sean nodded, but felt a little puzzled. Shouldn’t your focus be that the more knowledge you have, the easier it is to earn money?
Linda’s eyes were shining with stars, and she exclaimed:
“Your income is so enviable! After we graduate, if we can find a job with a weekly salary of one thousand dollars, we would already be quite content!”
Sean naturally did not believe it. How could Linda, a bright student from New York University, have such a low salary?
And he felt that something was off about making a college student envious of him. What did that count for?
Linda kept asking Sean about treasure hunting, and Sean tried his best to lower her expectations, letting her know that not finding valuable items and losing money was the norm for treasure hunters.
After talking for a while, Linda reluctantly left.
Sean wiped away some cold sweat secretly. He couldn’t possibly coax a college graduate into container treasure hunting, that would be a sin!
The next day, Joanna sneaked over, and Linda was also very surprised to see her come over.
“Linda, is this your house?” Joanna was naturally a bit surprised, “Does Sean live in your house?”
“So Sean is your boyfriend?” Linda asked, and then laughed gleefully.
Sean, who came out to greet Joanna, was a little confused. Seeing Linda go inside, he asked:
“Do you know each other? Are you classmates?”
“Almost, although not in the same class, we often take the same major courses.” Joanna’s face showed displeasure, “If I had known you were living in their house, I wouldn’t have come.”
Sean smiled and said:
“When I rented the place, it was her mother who received me. I didn’t know Linda was Susan’s daughter…”
Joanna also felt that being angry about this was pointless. She linked arms with Sean as they walked inside while explaining:
“Linda is good at school and quite popular. But we don’t get along well. She always criticizes me because of my father…”
Sean knew Joanna’s family background was good, so could it be that Linda was jealous of the rich?
However, according to Sean’s taste, Joanna, the slightly chubby girl, was his favorite.
As for Linda, although she could also score an eight, she just wasn’t his cup of tea.
The two went inside and locked the door, then hugged each other.
Linda returned to her room, feeling good.
Susan happened to see her and asked:
“Is Sean’s girlfriend here? Do you know her?”
“It’s Joanna, the one I told you about.”
“I heard you guys don’t get along well, why are you so happy?” Susan was puzzled.
“Because they can’t last.”
Linda couldn’t hold back her happiness:
“Joanna’s father is a famous businessman who is unfriendly to China.
How could he possibly allow his daughter to be friends with Chinese people?”
Susan shook her head:
“This is truly a modern-day Romeo and Juliet.”
Linda then shared the news she had learned:
“Mom, do you know? Sean earned more than 20,000 dollars today! He’s so capable!”
This time Susan was shocked!
This young man was so incredible?
Linda said to Susan with a red face:
“Shameless! Slut!”
The words had just been spoken, and Joanna’s voice sounded again!
Linda couldn’t stand it and ran to her own room.
Susan was somewhat amazed:
“I didn’t expect this from Sean…”
Humming a tune, she went to the kitchen to cook. Aunt Susan had agreed that Sean could use the kitchen at any time.
A little over an hour later, Sean carried a tray into the room. Joana, who had just recovered, saw the tray with four dishes and a soup, and happily helped Sean put it down, then gave him a wet kiss – Sean had even remembered her request to add more dishes!
Linda quietly came to the kitchen after Sean entered the room and saw the three dishes left in the kitchen
Sean had no intention of two-timing, and merely left some dishes as a token of gratitude for using their kitchen.
On the second day, Sean and Joanna went shopping together, and Sean bought her two brand-name outfits in a shopping center, spending 3,000 dollars.
Joanna was not used to it, but Sean waved his hand generously:
“In our China, this is the custom.”
Alright, Joanna happily offered a sweet kiss.
However, Joanna soon got a phone call and had to leave reluctantly because her parents summoned her.
Sean, now alone, found it boring, so he simply went to buy tools.
He needed to have tools to auction off raw jade stones, right?
