Rivers of the Night-Chapter 839: Last Chance
Capรญtulo 839: Last Chance
โWhat?โ Theron asked with his same patented gentle smile. โIs there a problem?โ ๐ง๐๐๐๐๐ซ๐ท๐ค๐ฟ๐๐ก.๐๐ค๐ถ
โThe General isnโt free to guide people. She has very important matters to attend to every day,โ Daisy said coldly.
โIs that so?โ Theron blinked. โThatโs a shame.โ
Daisy was about to speak again, Theronโs nonchalance really getting under her skin. But a raise of Ameridiaโs hand made her stop in her tracks.
โWhy are you asking this?โ Ameridia asked calmly.
Theron blinked again as though he didnโt understand the question. โWhy wouldnโt I want to be taught by you?โ
Ameridiaโs eyes narrowed.
Theron asking her such a thing didnโt make any sense. He was someone who had gotten the upper hand on Viper. Granted, Viper wasnโt using her own abilities and was instead mimicking her, but she was still a Transcendent.
Why would a King with so much power ask for such a thing?
For a long while, the room sat in silence, but while the Timeless Fairies outside of Messo began to feel uncomfortable, Theronโs smile was just the same and Ameridia looked as though she could sit there forever.
โHow old are you?โ
This time, it was Theron who was a bit caught off by the question. His head tilted a bit and then he laughed.
โIโm seventeen years old.โ
โBULLSHIT.โ Daisy slammed a palm into the desk, her breath heaving.
There was definitely something wrong with what was going on right now. Theron was too powerful for his age by a margin so wide it was unfathomable.
To say there had never been a single even 30-year-old as powerful as Theron wasnโt even an understatement. In fact, it wasnโt enough of an exaggeration.
Daisy was convinced there was something wrong with Theronโs origins, or maybe he had to be part of some special Race that their methods couldnโt properly document and contend with.
She had heard of some Races that had exceptionally long lives. Maybe their senses were detecting a long lifespan as youth when they shouldnโt have.
However, Theronโs smile didnโt fade at all. He didnโt even flinch at the boom of the palm despite the wind that kicked up and the sonic waves whipping out in all directions.
โDo you understand what you are saying?โ Ameridia said slowly.
โIโm not sure what you mean.โ
โTo reach the King Realm by 100 years of age is the line of an absolute genius. Not a talent, not a decent genius. An absolute genius. Even one with a Voidwrought Resonance is not guaranteed to reach this level by the age of 100โthe highest Resonance there is.โ
โAh, interesting.โ Theron nodded as though he hadnโt already guessed this from spectating alone. โSpeaking of which, Iโm curious. This should be the pinnacle of humanity, no? So where are all the Voidwroughts? Even youโre just an Elder Titan. Donโt tell me humanity doesnโt have Voidwroughts?โ
Theron had been sort of anticipating seeing his first Voidwroughts. But it wasโฆ odd.
Even in the Demon Corps, the Prince-level talents were just Titans. That seemed to mean that only Kings would be Elder Titans and the Emperors would be Voidwroughts.
He had been expecting to meet such talents.
Instead, though, Ameridia was the best of the very best, and as far as Theron could tell, she wasnโt even close to Voidwrought Resonance.
At first, Theron thought that this might be a bridge she crossed by virtue of her Space Mancy. Meaning, she could get away with her talent being weaker because her Mancy Path was so powerful overall that it didnโt matter that it was a tier lower in Resonance.
But Theron hadnโt sensed any Voidwroughts in the encampment.
The closest to Voidwrought amongst the Timeless Fairies was Messo, and Theron was about 10% sure that she just might be a Voidwrought herself. But the better-than-90% odds seemed to say that she was actually just very close and not quite there yet.
This left Theronโฆ confused.
Could there not be any Voidwroughts in existence? That was odd.
But then Ameridia casually mentioned them just now, and that prickled something else at the back of Theronโs mind.
Why did this universe only have Humans?
Theron had thought that the Demon Corps would have been made up of Demons, but surprisingly, they were all just Humans that had mutated their bodies.
It was all so odd.
Honestly, at first, Theron hadnโt really thought about why he needed to care that there werenโt other Races. The Races he thought should exist all came from fictional books. There was no reason that they had to exist in real life.
But after he formed his Profound Truthโฆ Theron felt a certain resonance with the world that just feltโฆ like it was missing something.
Like something was fundamentally not there even though it should be.
Ameridiaโs eyes sharpened. When Theron spoke the word Voidwrought with such unprecedented ease, Ameridia felt something within her stir.
โAre you a Voidwrought, Theron?โ
โMe?โ Theron blinked. โNoโ.โ
Ameridiaโs gaze dimmed for a moment.
โโI am a Perfect False Voidwrought, though. Whatever that means.โ
Five pairs of eyes sharpened all at once, the aura they radiated as one suffocating the very air that hung between them.
โWell, actually, I guess itโs more accurate to say that Iโm a Perfect Dual Core False Voidwrought.โ Theron smiled brightly.
Ameridiaโs pupils trembled for a moment. That was right. Theron did have a Dual Resonance.
Getting a read on Theron was incredibly difficult because his soul was so ridiculously powerful for his cultivation level. As such, even they could only ask to understand him.
And yet, even though Theron could have very well liedโฆ
They believed him.
Even Daisy believed him this time.
Only such a thing could explain how someone could be so mind-numbingly powerful.
Ameridia took a small breath.
โThere exists a Gate at the end of the universe. Some call it the Nameless Gate. Others call it the Tatsuya Gate. Yet some others call it Heavenโs Gate.
โIt is said that only those younger than 25 years old can enter. So, if you are lying about your ageโฆ
โThis is your final opportunity to back out.โ
