Rise of the Lustful Evil Monarch (Re)-Chapter 319: Back to the Meadow
Third Person's POV
And of course, he wasn't ready to believe the more disturbing alternative.
Suddenly, he wondered why the conclusion that they might be a real mother and son appeared in his mind on hearing his first words.
He shook his head and sighed while looking at the frolicking couple who were moaning and gasping while having sex.
Soon, Ethan became sharply aware of an uncomfortable churn rising in his chest, and he knew that it was a quiet but undeniable revulsion stirring within him as he witnessed one of the weirdest scenes unfolding in front of him right now.
His soul quivered with a strange unease, and he furrowed his brow.
It didn't take long for him to conclude that the feeling stemmed from witnessing something so deeply sordid and so viscerally disturbing.
Without wasting further attention on the depraved entanglement between the red-haired woman and the young Aram, where she seemed to dominate the act with animalistic fervor, Ethan turned his focus toward the room itself.
While the wooden bed rocked under their frenzied movements, he scanned every inch of the chamber with calm precision.
The stone walls were thick and etched faintly with protective runes that looked like they hadn't been reinforced in years.
The air was stale and clung with the scent of old sweat, aged wood, and something vaguely floral that was probably from this red-haired woman's perfume.
Ethan kept mental notes of every detail and calmly catalogued the location, orientation, and obscurity of this secret chamber.
At the same time, he continued recording the indecent spectacle with a dispassionate mind.
Despite the moral filth of the act, Ethan knew the weight this kind of evidence could carry in his future endeavors against the Vord family.
In this world, soul-fragments and memory extractions were as common as scrying or enchantments.
He knew well enough that with the right artifact, this memory could be preserved like a video in his past life, and wielded like a dagger at the right moment.
Soon, an inky fog curled up around his form and started swirling with a cool, whispering current that wrapped around his soul body.
In the blink of an eye, the scenery collapsed, and he found himself ejected back into the mindscape.
He looked down at himself and found his translucent, glimmering form flickering like a fragile candle in the wind.
His soul energy reserves were close to depletion, and the smooth fluidity of his jellyfish-like soul body had become sluggish, less vibrant, while his feelers trembled faintly with fatigue.
Letting out a heavy, regret-filled sigh of not being able to scour more information, Ethan quickly exited the secret sanctuary, and the mental gateway closed behind him like a sealed vault.
A moment later, he emerged once more in the hidden pit where Aram's unconscious body still lay untouched.
Without wasting time, he held the young demon's limp form by the neck and silently vanished from the spot.
The tall and windy grasses of the now destroyed meadow suddenly shifted as he reappeared in the ruined meadow.
Sweeping his gaze over the area, he immediately found his girls who stood beside the eerie and dark figure of the blood slave, who had locked his hidden but mysterious crimson gaze on the demon knight Telor, according to Ethan's request.
The stare was so intense and so unwavering that it made the demon knight visibly uncomfortable, even though he sat cross-legged and tried to appear calm.
Telor fidgeted slightly and stole glances at the shadows creeping near his periphery.
He silently wondered what was taking that boy so long, and a trace of impatience formed beneath his guarded composure.
But then, as if in response to his thoughts, a soft fluctuation passed through the air.
He turned his head sharply and was just in time to see Ethan reappearing from the void while dragging Aram's unconscious form like a sack of grain.
Seeing the rise and fall on his chest, a subtle but noticeable relief passed across Telor's face.
However, that relief was quickly masked as he stood and stepped forward with his brows knitted slightly as he examined the young master's limp form.
But finding none, he relaxed even more, and his clenched fists loosened giving him respite from the tense standoff in the past half an hour.
Standing in front of him in a calm and silent manner, Ethan passed the boy over with a faint smile and said coolly,"Remember our agreement, which I am sure you would truly intend to honor."
Telor gave a slight nod, though his expression was unreadable.
But his unreadable persona shifted as Ethan's next words were like iron laced with ice.
"To make sure you do, I suggest you take a vow on your soul, and the Astral Realm that you won't reveal any true details about what transpired today… nor the identities of me and my companions."
Ethan's voice was soft, but his suggestion was anything but that.
Ethan smiled slightly as he noticed Telor's jaw clench for a brief moment and the stiffness in his muscles that betrayed his surprise.
Seeing this, Ethan sneered inwardly.
Did this guy really believe I would hand him such great leverage and walk away like some naive fool?
He studied Telor's face and thought coldly,
I already knew that this hundreds of years old and experienced being would not take orders easily.
I may not know his full character, but I do know enough that he has lived for too long, seen too much, and he is surely far from being a trustworthy person.
It is obvious that someone this strong and one who survived centuries in this world didn't do so by being someone else's loyal mutt.
For a few seconds, the demon knight said nothing, and the silence in the meadow stretched even more, but Ethan waited silently for him to respond.
The knight exhaled, and the tension he had been carrying for so long eased from his shoulders.
