Rise of the Lustful Evil Monarch (Re)-Chapter 254: Faceless One’s Guise
Third Person's POV
She wiped her teary eyes and sniffled softly.
The sheer vulnerability in that simple action stirred something warm within Ethan's heart.
Without hesitation, he pulled her into another embrace and his arms tightened protectively around her small frame.
Only after a moment did he finally let go.
His gaze swept over both girls as he began to recount the events that had unfolded after their departure.
"After the old sir took you both to a safe place, I fought the dark knight with almost my full strength.
I had no intention of revealing my trump cards, not in front of so many witnesses.
Who knows which spy or informant might have been lurking among them?"
His tone was even but there was an underlying weight to his words.
"But since he was already in the Sky Realm—though I suspect he must have only recently ascended, I couldn't directly counter his aura explosion.
Still, I am absolutely certain that I managed to injure him slightly at the end."
A heavy silence followed his words.
Virelle and Velcy exchanged glances and their eyes were wide with an unspoken shock.
Neither could truly fathom what they had just heard. But they knew two facts clearly.
Ethan had fought a Sky Realm expert to a near standstill and he was still a grade two being while the opponent was a newly ascended grade four being.
They both knew the sheer gap between realms was an insurmountable chasm for most experts.
Yet Ethan had not only faced such an opponent head-on but he had also injured him.
Though he spoke of the fight as if it had been just another battle, they could see the truth of it.
The rising plumes of dust in the distant market district were testament enough to the destruction left in the wake of their clash.
Virelle's chest swelled with an overwhelming sense of pride.
Her man was so young and barely eighteen yet he was already strong enough to contend with a Sky Realm expert, an achievement that defied all conventional logic.
The dark knight, on the other hand, was undoubtedly in his hundreds with vast experience and his combat instincts honed to perfection.
And yet, Ethan had battled him fearlessly, and more than that—he had wounded him.
Her fingers clenched into fists at her sides as she considered the implications.
If the world were to learn that an eighteen-year-old had almost fought an experienced Sky Realm warrior to a draw, the entire balance of power across the Three Continents would shift.
Every faction, every kingdom, and every hidden power and organization would see him as an existential threat, like an anomaly that must be crushed before he grew too powerful.
The mere thought of the whole world behind him sent an involuntary shudder down her spine.
But she quickly shook the notion from her mind. It was far too unrealistic to think about now.
Instead, she refocused on Ethan, who continued,
"Though at the end, I managed to wound him, he used his aura explosion once more and sent me flying.
But what he didn't expect was..."
A smirk curved his lips as he deliberately paused and let the suspense hang in the air.

Both girls leaned in slightly with a palpable eagerness.
"...that I happened to land very close to that vile bastard of a young master.
Hehe... And so, I did what I had to do—I cut off one of his hands with my green dagger.
I was about to take the other as well, but unfortunately, the knight intervened at the last moment and managed to save that trash."
Virelle's eyes lit up.
She looked at Ethan with newfound admiration but when he casually took out the severed thin arm from his spatial ring and dangled it before her, her excitement grew even more intense.
A devilish glint flickered in her crimson irises as she took in the sight of Otto's dismembered limb.
Already, so many nefarious ideas were dancing through her mind.
Ethan chuckled at her reaction before storing the arm away once more.
His expression then turned slightly serious.
"As for why I didn't kill him, well I decided that the one to kill him would be you, Virelle and I already took a small payback of the torture you have reserved for him.
Don't worry, I will help you torture that guy to oblivion."
He said this with a loving tone and Virelle nodded with an emotional expression as she could tell that her Brother Ethan understood her thoroughly and cared about her wants and feelings.
"I also took that pitiful girl, Amelia, with me. If I had left her behind, her fate would have been disastrous and you both can imagine what might have happened to her."
Virelle gave a slow nod as her admiration for Ethan deepened.
She had always known he had a ruthless streak but his sense of responsibility and his ability to distinguish who was worth saving only reinforced her appreciation for the man he was.
Suddenly, Ethan reached into his spatial ring and retrieved three thin black membranes, and handed one each to Virelle and Velcy.
They took them hesitantly and frowned as they inspected the strange items.
The membranes were soft and almost unnervingly fleshy to the touch.
Sensing their confusion, Ethan smiled and explained,
"These are Faceless One's Guise. They were a gift from my Master Nyx on my eighteenth birthday."
Both girls visibly perked up at the mention of his mysterious and powerful master.
Ethan continued,
"That young master is obviously a local and one with powerful backing.
The presence of a Sky Realm bodyguard all but confirms it.
This is also one of the reasons why I didn't kill him rashly for now.
All this means that the entire city is likely already on high alert and is searching for us as we speak."
His eyes glinted with mild frustration.
"I just remembered these masks while thinking over the situation."
