"Should you be telling the students about that secret?" Xu Shi asked.

"What secret?" Li Shi asked back. "Every senior student who is about to graduate from our academy knows about the spring of life under our academy."

Li Shi gave Yong Lei the order to destroy the machine, but she told him to do it gently. A device that produced such a mental defense was not something available in this era anymore. If it was possible, she wanted to study it.

Xu Shi expressed a similar demand, but his intention was so the military could use it if they could somehow activate the machine again.
