Rich in the 70s: I Made a Rugged Veteran a Millionaire-Chapter 68: You’re the Most Ruthless One
Jiang Cheng stopped her bicycle next to Sun Aiguo, Uncle Sun’s younger son.
"Shen Xing, come back first!"
After shouting, Jiang Cheng looked at Shen Yue on Sun Aiguo’s back, her gaze lingering on her unnatural arm.
"Is it dislocated?"
Sun Aiguo quickly nodded.
"Yes! She fell and dislocated it! I’m taking her to Master Ma’s, he can fix it there."
"Thank you."
Jiang Cheng expressed her gratitude, and Shen Xing ran back, the four of them heading together to Master Ma’s, the same place Grandma Shen had bought medicine for Shen Xing last time.
"I’ll carry her, you help me with the bike."
"Sister Jiang Cheng, I can carry her!"
Sun Aiguo was a year younger than Jiang Cheng. She had met him a few times when delivering food to Uncle Sun’s house.
Although he didn’t have a stable job, Sun Aiguo was a talker but not a bad person.
Jiang Cheng didn’t argue, just reminded him that if he got tired, they could switch.
After saying this, Jiang Cheng looked at Shen Xing and asked, "What happened?"
Shen Xing shook his head, looking guilty.
"I don’t know either. When I got out, Yue Yue was already pushed down, and several girls were surrounding her. I tried to pull them away, but they scratched me. In the end, Brother Sun came and scared them off."
Jiang Cheng heard this, took a look at the back of Shen Xing’s hand, and then examined his face closely, there were indeed several scratches.
"Yue Yue, can you tell me what happened?"
Shen Yue’s nose was red from holding back tears. Seeing Jiang Cheng, she managed to hold back, but when Jiang Cheng asked her, she couldn’t hold it anymore.
"Sister—they tried to take my backpack! I wouldn’t give it to them, so they pushed and grabbed at me!"
"I was brave! I didn’t cry!"
Jiang Cheng’s eyes brimmed with tears at Shen Yue’s statement of not crying.
She understood too well.
Because she was the same when she was young, she could cry alone but would never cry in front of an enemy!
"Our Yue Yue is the bravest! Tell me, what are the names of those kids?"
With Jiang Cheng’s comfort, Shen Yue revealed the names of the kids.
Jiang Cheng remembered and took out five yuan from her backpack for Shen Xing.
"Take it, remember to give it to the doctor for the adjustment. I’m stepping out for a bit, I’ll try to be quick! If I don’t make it back in time, you follow Brother Sun home."
With that, Jiang Cheng turned back to Sun Aiguo, "Sorry to trouble you again, Mr. Sun."
"No problem!"
After another thank you, Jiang Cheng mounted her bicycle and sped away.
"Sister—do not fight!"
Shen Xing shouted, earning a wave from Jiang Cheng in mid-air.
Shen Xing understood that Jiang Cheng planned to stand up for them, but he was a bit uneasy. Yet at present, taking care of Yue Yue was the priority. If things got worse, he’d call his elder brother.
But he didn’t know if his brother had returned from the mission.
On the other side, Jiang Cheng sped all the way to the police station.
Leader Tang was surprised to see Jiang Cheng and even more so when he heard she wanted to report a case.
"Kids fighting, report a case?"
"Yes! I need the police to come with me."
Jiang Cheng was adamant, refusing to back down, determined to get justice.
Finally, two police officers went along with Jiang Cheng.
All three first arrived at the place where Shen Yue was to be treated for her dislocation, just in time for the treatment. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"Relax, no need to worry, I’ll count to three!"
"One... it’s done."
The elder released Shen Yue’s arm, "Move it around a bit."
Shen Yue was a bit scared, but bravely moved her arm slightly.
It really didn’t hurt!
Excited, Shen Yue moved more and then laughed.
"Sister, I’m fine now!"
"So amazing! Thank you!"
Shen Yue politely thanked, and Doctor Ma waved his hand, "Quickly, go."
Shen Xing wanted to pay, but Jiang Cheng stopped him, noting that the doctor clearly didn’t want money; they could express gratitude later in another way.
Jiang Cheng thanked again and led Shen Xing and Shen Yue out of Master Ma’s house.
Sun Aiguo was startled when he saw two police officers outside. He contemplated running but then thought: why should he run?
It was all because of his father!
He always said being jobless made him a drifter, and drifters get caught, which constantly frightened him.
"Yue Yue, I reported to the police. Please explain what happened again."
Shen Yue’s eyes widened.
"Sister, are they going to be arrested?"
"No, just to teach them a lesson."
Shen Yue was relieved to hear they wouldn’t be arrested.
"That’s good, that’s good! Sister, I also dislike them, but maybe execution is a bit too..."
Jiang Cheng’s eye twitched.
Execution?
Didn’t expect you to be the toughest in the family!
After Shen Yue explained once more, Jiang Cheng arranged for Shen Xing and Shen Yue to go back, while she intended to visit those families.
But Shen Xing wanted to tag along, and Shen Yue did too.
"It’s not that I don’t want to take you, but in case of a confrontation, they have more people and might harm you."
Finally, Sun Aiguo volunteered to protect Shen Xing and Shen Yue; the three of them would stand by and watch.
Jiang Cheng agreed.
Six people walked in one direction.
It happened to be that these families lived in the same direction, the kids having grown up together with good relations.
Upon arrival, there was no need for Shen Yue to point them out; Jiang Cheng recognized them right away.
The girl jumping rope was wearing Shen Yue’s backpack.
Jiang Cheng took a book from Shen Xing’s bag and rolled it into a megaphone shape.
"Could the guardian of Yang Guilan come out please?"
"The guardian of Yang Guilan, please come out."
...
Jiang Cheng caught everyone’s attention, and the two accompanying police officers exchanged a glance.
’Should we call for backup?’
’Let’s see how it goes.’
They felt the situation might escalate.
The girl jumping rope, hearing her name, quickly ran over. Seeing Shen Yue, she felt guilty for a second, then shouted confidently, "What do you want with my parents?"
Jiang Cheng didn’t even look at Yang Guilan.
"The guardian of Yang Guilan, please come out!"
Finally, Yang Guilan’s family came out, a woman in her forties with a commanding presence, eyeing Jiang Cheng.
"Who are you?"
"Hello, I’m Jiang Cheng, Shen Yue’s sister. Your daughter Yang Guilan took Shen Yue’s backpack, and Shen Yue was pushed by Yang Guilan, causing her arm to dislocate. So we’re here for an explanation."
"Oh, by the way, the backpack is right there on your daughter’s back."
"Don’t even say you bought it yourselves, because there’s nowhere it’s sold! We made it ourselves, and we have the leftover fabric at home, an exact match."
After Jiang Cheng finished, she made an inviting gesture with one hand, indicating it was their turn to speak.
Yang Guilan’s mother didn’t need to know Jiang Cheng well—just from those few words and stance, she knew Jiang Cheng wasn’t someone to mess with.
Yang Guilan’s mother looked at Yang Guilan, who was glaring at Shen Yue, and asked, "Lanzi, did you pick up your classmate’s backpack?"
"Yeah! I picked it up! I have classmates who can vouch for me!"
Yang Guilan waved her little hand, and several classmates ran over, all talking at once, giving false testimonies.
Yang Guilan’s mother, subtly proud, said, "See, it’s all a misunderstanding."
