Rewriting My Fate in the Apocalypse-Chapter 87: The Marvels of Future Tech in the Space
Chapter 87: Chapter 87: The Marvels of Future Tech in the Space
The area wasn’t large, just about an acre of land. From the outside, the warehouse looked like it was only about two hundred square meters, but obviously that was not the case.
Therefore, Lu Zhen figured that it must have been built using some kind of material that transcends spatial laws. Making the inside of the warehouse many times bigger than the outside. freewebnøvel.coɱ
There was a sky now, but it looked different from the one they were used to. Instead of a blue sky with white clouds and a yellow sun, the sky was somewhat crimson.
There was also a sun, but it was red giving the place a mysterious, yet eerie feeling. Even though everything was different, he could feel the warmth of the sun. It didn’t feel different, but for some reason, he felt his fire ability react. As if it was being charged the way electricity charges a battery.
This feeling was very strange and wonderful at the same time.
There was grass on the ground they were standing on. It looked like ordinary grass, but Lu Zhen doubted anything here was ordinary.
Leng Pan wasn’t any better as she also marveled at the new world she was seeing. She had caught a glimpse earlier with her consciousness but to experience it physically was different.
Her water ability spiked again, just like it had done when she got close to that meteorite.
She was sure now if she tried to create water, it would fill a one thousand liters tank. What’s more, she could feel the water molecules in the air and can even control them.
She had no idea how much of that she could achieve, but she would practice later and see how far she could go.
She somehow remembered something happening when Lu Zhen and her were leaving the zombie encirclement earlier but she couldn’t remember what it figured out how.
She pushed that thought to the back of her mind and took Lu Zhen’s hand, pulling him out of his reverie then walked towards the mansion a distance away.
She already knew what the warehouse looked like. It had doubled in size and now she could collect more supplies when she goes out in the future.
When they got closer, the two realized that this wasn’t a normal mansion made of stones or the regular building materials people normally use.
It looked so high-tech it kept changing color. The exterior was made of some material that shimmered with a light glare. They didn’t understand what was happening and didn’t dare to get too close in case something attacked them. After all, they didn’t know who owned this place. The bangle just had some space to store supplies that could help them survive the apocalypse, but now it had turned into something entirely different.
They had to be careful. So, they stood there to observe first. After standing for half an hour and not seeing any movement, they figured that it was safe, but they also noticed something else.
The color of the building had changed again. The change was very subtle. As if still in the process, but it was definitely there.
Looking up at the crimson sky, they noticed that the sun had moved a little. It also appeared that day and night here moved faster than outside.
Discovering this small change in the position of the sun, they concluded that the change in the color of the building walls was related to the position of the sun.
They walked forward towards what looked like a front door but had no handle and no keypad that could be used for a password or biometric recognition.
They wondered how anyone could enter the mansion if it was so flat. However, they didn’t need to wait for long because as soon as they were about two meters away from the door, a voice echoed from inside the building.
It was obviously AI generated, but it didn’t sound robotic. It mimicked the human vocals perfectly.
"Welcome back Commander Leng." The voice said and at the same time, the door slid to the side leaving an empty doorway for them.
However, the two couldn’t move an inch. The voice still echoed in their minds on repeat like a broken record.
"Welcome back Commander Leng, welcome back Commander Leng, welcome back, Commander Leng." It was like a song that got stuck in the head and won’t stop playing no matter what.
How did that AI, whatever it was, know her surname? Leng Pan wondered. Also, what is this all about being a commander?
She was sure that she was just a regular girl from the real world who got transmigrated into a book to become cannon fodder because she ranted about the second female lead being stupid and naive.
Now, where did this commander Leng thingy come from? Also, why did she feel that resonance with the jade bangle when the meteorite was placed inside? Another question, why on earth is this space different from what was described in the freaking novel?
Lu Zhen was also equally astonished, but he was the first to come around. Turning to look at his wife, he found her expression quite interesting. If not for the occasion he would have laughed at her cute reaction.
She had her small mouth open into a perfect ’O’ shape. Her eyes were wide, and her brows were slightly furrowed.
They were still holding hands so he squeezed her small and soft hand to wake her and told her they should go inside and look around. After all, they had been invited.
"Let’s go inside and explore the mysteries of this place, Commander Leng!!! Hahaha..." Lu Zhen said then almost doubled over with laughter.
He knew that this wasn’t the time to laugh, but he couldn’t help it.
Leng Pan was caught between getting angry at him and pouncing on him. His laugh was so sexy that she wanted nothing more than to do something else.
But she restrained her lustful thoughts and took a deep breath. "Let’s see what this is all about. I don’t get why this robot or AI or whatever it is would know my surname.
I didn’t even own this bangle until three weeks ago when I bought it at a street stall in the antique street market." Leng Pan was really confused, but she had a feeling that what she was about to experience and what would happen from now on would change her life forever.
"We’ll know if we go inside." Lu Zhen replied as he took the first step subtly hiding his wife behind him.
Leng Pan noticed his small, subconscious actions and felt a warmth spread in her heart. No matter what happens in the future, one thing was clear, she would stick to this man, love him, and protect him with everything she had.
The inside of the mansion was even more bizarre and high-tech than the outside. As soon as they walked inside the door slid back into place and closed.
Since they didn’t feel any sense of danger, they didn’t panic and just observed everything inside.
They were standing inside of what they believed was a living room. A high-tech kind of living room with the scenes on the wall changing from a black color to a flower-filled scenery with towering trees and green grass.
Soothing music they couldn’t recognize started playing even though they couldn’t tell where it was playing from.
The earlier voice then spoke again, "Would you like something to drink Commander Leng?"
This time the two weren’t as shocked as before but they still didn’t know what was happening.
Of course they wouldn’t take anything from a place that seemed to have come out of a sci-fi movie. What if they ended up drinking chemicals?
Also, this voice kept calling her Commander Leng but she didn’t know who that was. It was better to avoid too much interaction.
"No, thanks." She replied and the voice went quiet again.
