Revive Rome: Wait! Why not make the empress fall in love with me first?-Chapter 313 - 111 Halloween

"Trick or treat!" Mia, with her pumpkin head, and Miel, smiling broadly, held up their baskets, in which their beautiful eyes twinkled through the holes carved into the pumpkins like crescent moons.
"Here’s some candy for you." Aske grabbed a handful of candies and tossed them into each of their baskets.
The two little girls cheerfully ran off with their baskets, and Aske turned to look around. The house was adorned with pumpkin lanterns, their candles casting a dim, yellowish light through the carved faces, creating a serene and enchanting atmosphere.
Aske was never really into foreign festivals, but when in Rome, he found himself immersed in the festive mood of Halloween.
Peggy was coming toward the house from outside, dressed in that traditional noble high-collar dress with a tied cravat, a short skirt, and a pair of bright red high heels. Despite the scary vampire getup, on her slender figure, it looked irresistibly enchanting, exuding a peculiarly seductive charm.
"Aske!" She got startled, not having noticed Aske standing behind the door.
"Here, have some candy." Aske tossed some candies into her collars.
"I’m not a child anymore!" Peggy glared at him, annoyed.
"You’re only 17." Aske reminded her of her age.
"At 17, I can legally get married!" Peggy argued firmly, lamenting the world’s early marriageable age.
She dashed excitedly to the hall to join the party, while Aske continued to stand in the foyer. Tonight being Halloween Eve, he was to play the role of a demonic servant, tasked with welcoming all sorts of monsters and demons that came to the door.
The next arrival was Nora. She was simply dressed in a plain, white, long-sleeved gown, her arms bare and as smooth and pale as lotus roots, with her soft chestnut hair draping loosely over her shoulders.
"Guess what I’m dressed as?" Nora smiled.
"A fairy?" Aske asked.
"Wrong." Nora happily shook her head, "A ghost~ a ghost."
A ghost so pure and lovely... Aske muttered to himself, only to hear Nora say with a gleeful smile, "That’s right, even if I turned into a ghost, I’d be the exceptionally pretty kind."
"You’re picking up bad habits from Medea, Nora." Aske shook his head, disapproving her use of mind reading at first meet, "Would you like some candy?"
"Yes." Nora took a piece of mint candy.
She gracefully entered the hall, and Aske continued to wait, bored, for the next guest. Why couldn’t the girls come together? They had to arrive one after another. It seemed they were too tired from working in the Quarantine Zone during the day and needed to freshen up their makeup, but how come they all finished at staggered times?
Deep in these bored thoughts, he saw someone in full armor clinking and clanking toward him.
"Are you dressed as an animated knight in armor, Sigrdrifa?" Aske asked.
The figure in armor was silent for a moment: "I am Eleanor."
"Eleanor would never choose such a silly costume," Aske chuckled, "and the height is off too."
Sigrdrifa removed her helmet, taking a long, deep breath: "This armor is too stifling, it’s uncomfortable to wear."
Then don’t dress up like this... Aske thought helplessly. By the way, where did you get this armor from?
"Would you like some candy?" Aske asked. For some reason in this world, the Halloween custom was to give candy to everyone, including kids, as if it was a ritual to ward off evil spirits.
"I want it all." Sigrdrifa said, grabbing a big handful of candies.
The armored figure huffed and puffed away, and Aske looked at the candy gift box that was now half empty, his brow slightly furrowed.
After restocking the candy supply, he returned to the front door, suddenly hit by a fragrant breeze.
Someone pecked him on the face, and as to why Aske didn’t realize someone was pressed against him, of course, it was because of that person’s Mind Blind Zone ability.
"Medea..." Aske was a bit resigned. Having been kissed stealthily, how does one put it? He couldn’t deny that there was no awkwardness, and he felt a small thrill inside, after all, the other person was a pretty girl.
"Just smirk about it," Medea poked his chest. Today’s redhead beauty was dressed in a bold, tight-fitting shirt with the top two buttons undone, creating a tempting deep V effect, which would be indecent to describe further, so let’s leave that be.
On her head, she wore little devil horns, and the shirt’s hem clung to her large black tights, with a spade-shaped tail hanging from behind her rear, still a mystery how it was attached to the body.
"So you’re dressed as an Enchanting Demon?" asked Aske. As the ghostly servant in the foyer, his job was to guess the identities of the guests’ costumes, another being to hand out candy.
"Yep," Medea replied with an uptick in her voice.
"You need to dress up?" Aske expressed surprise. Aren’t you an Enchanting Demon already?
"Hmm-hmm," said Medea. "This is an outfit I can accept. I don’t really like the other images from the comics."
Aske: .........
That girl just said something quite outrageous!
"After all, I am the Queen of Comics, and I do have to change my image from time to time, don’t want the readers to get bored," Medea said as she played with her hair.
"Actually..." Knowing his memories had been read by her, Aske braved through, "Well, it’s not like I went out of my way to collect your comics. I used to work at a game company, and I managed the community marketing department for a while, where the guys would always post your racy pictures, and I just joined in for fun, forwarding them occasionally."
"Hmm, I can actually accept it if you saw my comics unintentionally," Medea crossed her arms, supporting her chest. "But what’s with Photoshopping my head onto a skunk?"
Aske was close to sweating a river: "Sorry."
(Students who do not understand, you may search "skunk head swap")
"Hmph," Medea turned her head proudly and took a rum-filled chocolate candy from Aske’s candy box and left.
Leaning against the door frame, Aske sighed out of boredom. He hadn’t felt much before, but just now he suddenly thought that having a mind-reading woman around was like a nightmare.
To say nightmare might be a bit much, considering the greeting kiss, let’s downgrade it to the level of ’trouble.’
Eleanor and Thira were the last to arrive. After waiting for about ten minutes, Aske finally saw the two women making their way leisurely towards him.
Eleanor was dressed in rusty, decaying armor, clearly cosplaying as a Black Knight; Thira, on the other hand, wore a sea-blue silk chiffon dress, holding a coral magic wand, it was uncertain who she was portraying.
"Siren Queen." She greeted with a nod, considerately and kindly reminding him.
"Want some candy?" Aske asked.
"I’d like the milk-filled soft candy," Eleanor rifled through the candies, picking one out.
"Just give me whatever," Thira said.
Leading the two last arrivals, Aske headed to the hall. The long table was filled with food and drinks, under the dim candlelight, the other girls awaited their addition to the mix.
Even though all the team members were dressed up as various demons and ghosts, the youth and radiance specific to young women adorned this feast with incomparable beauty and perfection.
