Revenge with the Power of the Final Boss-Chapter 125
By the next day, neither Baek Hyung-won nor Kim Yoo-jung had developed any genuine remorse for their actions.
However, they did come to accept the grim reality: if they continued down this path, they would only face utter ruin. Trying to cling to what they had would lead to nothing but further destruction.
"Hah... I'm sorry, Seo-jin. It seems I won't be able to pass the Baekho Guild down to you," Baek Hyung-won muttered with a heavy sigh.
In the end, Baek Hyung-won and Kim Yoo-jung chose to donate a significant portion of their wealth and relinquish the Baekho Guild entirely. They accepted that this was the only way for the three of them to survive together.
Still, their expressions betrayed their lingering resentment, as though they were victims of some great injustice. This left Baek Seo-jin with a bitter taste in his mouth from the moment he woke up.
"In the end, they never truly understood."
The weight of it all bore down on him, but Seo-jin suppressed his feelings as he made his way to Kangin Academy. As he stepped onto the campus grounds, he immediately felt the stares and whispers directed at him.
"They say it was actually Lee Ha-yeon who took down Ham Kang-min, not him."
"How shameless can you get, stealing someone else's credit?"
"He might be an SSS-Class Hunter and the top student, but he’s really lacking as a person."
"And he went up against the Dean? Anyone who sides with him is bound to be in trouble."
"I heard the Baekho Guild abused him when he was a kid, even before he was kidnapped by villains at ten. No food, no proper clothes—they really treated him horribly."
Every word echoed the truth, and Baek Seo-jin found himself unable to deny any of it. The very same people who had praised him as a hero just yesterday now branded him a fraud. And sadly, their accusations were entirely accurate—he had no grounds to refute them.
He knew better than anyone the weight of his sins. He was well aware that he deserved the criticism and that his current position left him powerless to defend himself.
"Just yesterday, I thought my brother was nothing but trash."
Up until the day before, Seo-jin had convinced himself that his older brother, Baek Seo-jun, was a worthless failure, while he was the great hero. He’d been so caught up in his delusions that he had believed his own lies. The fact that so many others had bought into those lies only fueled their growing resentment toward him now.
"Seo-jin!"
A familiar voice called out to him.
Turning, he saw Kim Chul-woo, Park Sun-hoo, and Bae Ye-rim—his former comrades. They had believed in him, trusting his words as absolute truth, and had stood by him unwaveringly. Now, they too were caught up in the fallout of his deceit.
"I’m sorry," Seo-jin thought, guilt tightening his chest.
To those who had trusted and supported him, he felt nothing but profound regret. Bowing his head, he addressed them with a heavy heart.
"Chul-woo, Sun-hoo, Ye-rim... I’m sorry. I’ve caused you so much trouble."
His apology was sincere, but it wasn’t what they wanted to hear.
"Sorry? Is that it? Tell us it’s not true!"
"What’s going on? Did we get fooled this whole time?"
"What are we supposed to do now? We trusted you and were ready to risk everything for you!"
Kim Chul-woo, Park Sun-hoo, and Bae Ye-rim had become infamous within Kangin Academy for their association with Seo-jin. They were known by everyone, from first-years to fourth-years, and possibly even outside the academy to those who followed such news closely.
"It’s all my fault. Just say you were deceived. You didn’t do anything wrong… I’m really sorry."
With those words, Seo-jin turned and walked away, ignoring their desperate calls. He couldn’t face them any longer.
As he headed toward the Dean’s office, Seo-jin endured the whispers and stares of the other students without complaint.
"Brother…"
But the heaviest weight on his heart wasn’t the judgment of the students or even his former allies. It was the impending meeting with his brother, Baek Seo-jun.
Baek Seo-jun had become the living embodiment of the guilt and sins he and their parents bore. Facing him now was a terrifying prospect. Acknowledging one’s crimes was always a daunting task, but Seo-jin was particularly fearful of what punishment might await him.
Still, he had resolved not to run away. Forcing down his fear, he walked up to the door of the Dean’s office. All that remained was to open it.

"Brother… I’m here."
There was no sound from inside. No sense of movement or presence. Instead, it felt as though the room was shielded, sealed by some barrier that obscured any sign of life.
"Come in," came a cold, sharp voice from within.
It was Baek Seo-jun’s voice.
With trembling hands, Seo-jin opened the door, each creak sounding like the tolling of a bell leading him to the gallows.
Inside, he saw Baek Seo-jun seated on the sofa. The man’s appearance was eerily similar to his own, down to the striking blue hair. It was as though Seo-jin were looking at an older version of himself. The resemblance left no doubt they were brothers, but Seo-jun’s expression was devoid of warmth, radiating a chilling coldness that seemed to weigh down on him.
"Brother… Ye-jin noona…"
Seo-jin’s gaze briefly flicked to Seomun Ye-jin, who sat close to Seo-jun, practically leaning against him as if it were the most natural thing in the world. But what truly startled him were the others in the room.
"Ha-yeon, Se-hee, Yuka, Yu-ra?"
Lee Ha-yeon, Han Se-hee, Moriya Yuka, and Kang Yu-ra.
The four of them were also present, their gazes sharp and hostile. Their open hostility contrasted starkly with the affection he’d once imagined they held for him. The reality was clear now—his belief that they harbored romantic feelings for him had been nothing more than a delusion.
Even though he knew this, realizing it so directly left him gripping his fists tightly, the sting of humiliation and regret hitting him hard.
But their presence here raised a chilling question in his mind.
"Could it be…?"
With no more delusions to cling to, Baek Seo-jin quickly arrived at the obvious conclusion. Reflecting on it, it was strange that Lee Ha-yeon and Han Se-hee weren’t more obviously connected to Baek Seo-jun sooner.
Both of them clearly had long-standing relationships with Seo-jun. It made perfect sense for their romantic interests to be directed toward him rather than Seo-jin.
However, Moriya Yuka and Kang Yu-ra didn’t seem to have any prior ties to Seo-jun before joining Kangin Academy. Yet, their presence here now indicated they, too, had formed deep relationships with him. That was why they were already gathered here this morning.
Having finally abandoned the delusion that any of them harbored romantic feelings for him or were trying to impress him by gathering information about Seo-jun, Baek Seo-jin bitterly accepted the truth.
"So, the fact that you’re all here this morning means you’ve already made a decision, haven’t you?" he asked, his voice subdued.
"…Yes," Seo-jun replied coldly. "Our parents—those monsters, Baek Hyung-won and Kim Yoo-jung—sold you to So Kang-seok. We’ll publicly release the evidence of their crime. We’ll admit everything, formally apologize, and step down from the Baekho Guild. Additionally, we’ll transfer the majority of our assets, including the family home, to you. It’s a pitiful gesture of atonement, and I know it’s nowhere near enough, but… I don’t know how else to apologize. Hah… I really am a pathetic coward, aren’t I?"
Seo-jin’s self-deprecating words hung in the air, but Baek Seo-jun’s cold gaze remained fixed on him, unyielding.
"I see," Seo-jun said flatly. "But since Baek Hyung-won and Kim Yoo-jung aren’t here, I take it those two still think they’re victims, don’t they?"
Seo-jin couldn’t deny it. To argue otherwise would be to lie to his brother, and he had resolved not to lie anymore.
"No more lies," he thought, gripping his trembling hands.
Even so, he couldn’t summon the courage to confirm Seo-jun’s words aloud, choosing instead the cowardly route of silence.
"You’re not answering Seo-bang-nim’s question," Kang Yu-ra said icily.
"So, you can’t deny the Master’s words and choose to stay silent instead? Shameless for a perpetrator," Moriya Yuka added with a biting tone.
"He’s always been like this. Even without what he did to Seo-jun oppa, he’s always been disgusting," Lee Ha-yeon said, glaring at him with undisguised disdain.
"Before the procedure, he acted like we were close friends. I bet he’s still making up some delusion even now," Han Se-hee said, her gaze full of contempt.
Only Seomun Ye-jin remained silent, but her eyes conveyed more hatred than anyone else in the room.
Facing the collective disdain of the five women, all of whom were clearly Seo-jun’s, Baek Seo-jin couldn’t suppress a twisted thought: envy.
"Even in this situation, I’m still envious. Truly the worst, aren’t I?" he thought, laughing bitterly at himself.
