Return of the Immortal Emperor Daddy-Chapter 205: Behave and Lie Down for Me
Upon hearing Wu Tian’s words, Tellam, a refined elderly woman, sighed. "Resigned? Of course, I’m not resigned. But what does it matter if I’m not? The manufacturing methods for the Scientific Cultivation Devices are a secret of the Rothschild Family, and they have the right to cooperate with whomever is stronger."
Wu Tian nodded. With a flick of his finger, the Four Fiends Cauldron materialized from the Nine Dragon Ring.
Witnessing this spectacle, Xiao Liang exclaimed in amazement, "This... this technique! Even though this is the second time I’ve seen it, it’s still just as shocking."
Wu Tian smiled and said, "I don’t want you to look at the cauldron itself, but at what’s inside."
Curious, Xiao Liang and the others stepped forward to see what lay within the dark cauldron, which was embossed with the images of four fiendish beasts. Inside, they discovered countless elixirs.
The elixirs were a pale yellow, as translucent as candy or amber, but they carried a unique medicinal fragrance.
"Mr. Wu Tian, what do you plan to do with these?" Xiao Liang was the first to ask.
"Enough talk. Just try one," Wu Tian said calmly, taking a sip of tea from his seat.
Xiao Liang and the others nodded and each took a pill. Xia Qian, trusting Wu Tian implicitly, popped one into her mouth without a moment’s hesitation. The others hesitated, but only for a split second before they too swallowed their pills.
As soon as the pill entered their bodies, it dissolved into a cool stream of energy that coursed through the Eight Extraordinary Meridians. Within those channels, a trace of Qi unexpectedly began to form.
Xiao Liang couldn’t help but throw a punch, faintly recalling the feeling of his youthful martial arts.
"This... this is..." Coming to a sudden realization, Xiao Liang’s and the others’ pupils dilated in astonishment as they stared at Wu Tian.
Tellam, in particular, now understood why Wu Tian had asked her that question earlier. Her expression was one of pure excitement as she stared at the pills in the Four Fiends Cauldron.
"The Lanling Xiao Family said I wasn’t suited for the Martial Path, that it would take me ten years of hard work just to generate Qi. I gave up... but this pill gave me Qi instantly?" Xiao Tianzan, the Admiral of the Nine Gates, looked visibly moved, a crack in his usually iron-stern facade.
"Although I am a member of the Lanling Xiao Family, my Sense of Qi faded as I grew old, so I had no choice but to leave and fend for myself. I never thought I’d regain it." Xiao Liang clenched his fists as True Qi flowed through his meridians and Inner Strength erupted from his punches.
Father and son, Xiao Liang and Xiao Tianzan, exchanged a look. In the modern world, they had each earned considerable renown and respect.
Xiao Liang was a grandmaster in the world of antiques, admired by all and with friends across the land.
Xiao Tianzan was a leader in the Southern Province, nicknamed the Admiral of the Nine Gates. Under his governance, the South enjoyed an era of peace, and he was a contender for the nation’s highest office.
But neither of them had forgotten the humiliation the Lanling Xiao Family had inflicted upon them.
"You two, father and son, don’t bother coming back for the New Year anymore." The Lanling Xiao Family’s Clan Leader, Xiao Xuan, had spoken with a calm expression, but his tone was severe and dripping with mockery. "One whose Sense of Qi has vanished, the other unfit for cultivation. Your presence here only serves to make the Lanling Xiao Family look weak before the other great clans. Leave. Go fend for yourselves. And don’t bother coming back for the ancestral rites—you would only shame our ancestors by kowtowing before them."
Xiao Liang and Xiao Tianzan weren’t the only ones in the Lanling Xiao Family who were poor cultivators.
So why did the Clan Leader single out the father and son?
Because Xiao Xuan could never forget his youth when he studied alongside Xiao Liang, and how Xiao Liang had outperformed him in every single subject, every single time.
Moreover, some in the clan had said that if the leadership position were abdicated to Xiao Liang, the Lanling Xiao Family would have developed much better.
These things had festered in Xiao Xuan’s heart, so he found an excuse to expel Xiao Liang and Xiao Tianzan.
Now, they saw a glimmer of hope—the hope of returning.
"Mr. Wu Tian, this pill... you must have gone to great lengths to refine it," Xiao Liang said, bowing deeply in gratitude. "We are eternally grateful for you giving each of us such a precious pill."
Xiao Tianzan, Xia Qian, and Tellam also bowed to Wu Tian. In their minds, such a pill was impossibly rare—something they had never even heard of. It must have been the fruit of Wu Tian’s painstaking labor, refined with a tremendous amount of effort.
"You’re overthinking it." Wu Tian smiled and shook his head. "Of all the elixirs I can refine, this is actually the lowest grade."
"..." Xiao Liang and the others were once again stunned into silence.
They all drew closer to the Four Fiends Cauldron. Looking inside, they saw a large pile of the same pills they had just taken.
Xiao Liang and Xiao Tianzan’s minds raced. Should we take a few more? Maybe it would increase our martial strength and hasten the day we can return to the Lanling Xiao Family.
Wu Tian naturally noticed their expressions. He could see that the Lanling Xiao Family was the nightmare that haunted their hearts, a demon they were desperate to exorcise.
"Each person can only take one. This is a Qi-Rising Elixir; taking more is useless," Wu Tian’s statement made Xiao Liang and Xiao Tianzan sigh in disappointment.
"But don’t lose heart. In the future, I will refine other elixirs. For instance, helping you step into what you martial cultivators call the Innate Realm will not be a difficult task."
These words from Wu Tian filled Xiao Liang and Xiao Tianzan with joy once more.
However, Tellam and Xia Qian were businesswomen, and unlike the two men, they saw something else. As they gazed at the elixirs in the Four Fiends Cauldron, the same calculating glint appeared in their eyes.
"Madam Tellam, it seems you already know what I intend to do," Wu Tian said from his seat, giving Tellam and Xia Qian a knowing look, his smile hinting at something more.
Tellam nodded. She was no swindler. Although profits had declined during her leadership of the Kuangte Family, she had a clear conscience about the money she earned.
"Mr. Wu Tian, may I ask you a few questions?" Tellam asked, her voice filled with the utmost respect.
"Please, go ahead," Wu Tian shrugged casually.
"How many of these elixirs can you produce a day?"
"One thousand."
"And do these elixirs have any side effects? Are there certain people who cannot take them?" Tellam asked the most critical question.
"Anyone can take it," Wu Tian stated.
Tellam’s eyes burned with fervor, as did Xia Qian’s.
Xiao Liang and Xiao Tianzan were no fools. They now understood what Wu Tian had meant earlier when he had asked Tellam if she was truly resigned to her fate.
"Mr. Wu Tian," Tellam pressed on, "how much do you want to sell a single elixir for?"
"The Rothschild Family’s Scientific Cultivation Devices sell for 100,000 each. Why don’t we match them and price ours at 100,000 per pill?" Xia Qian suggested.
"Too low," Wu Tian said, shaking his head. "With the Scientific Cultivation Devices, one must still cultivate to see results. With this elixir, there’s no such need. Besides, those in the city who know of the Martial Path are extraordinary individuals. To them, 100,000 is as trivial as a few hundred for a meal out is to an average worker. The price will be 10,000,000 per elixir. Our elixirs are specifically for those who know about the Martial Path, and they can certainly afford it.
"The Rothschild Family wants to establish its commercial empire on the soil of our Dragon Country.
"Too bad I won’t allow it. All their efforts will be for nothing.
"So what if they’re the Rothschild Family? So what if they’re a mighty dragon crossing the river? Here, on the soil of my Dragon Country, even a dragon must become a worm and grovel before me!"
