Retired for A Hundred Years: Re-Employment for the Apocalypse Bigshot!-Chapter 270 - 265: Now We’re All in the Same Boat
Huang Liu’s eyes were filled with malicious intent.
If it weren’t for that nosy woman from the Security Bureau, Lao San wouldn’t have died.
That weak Lao Er actually cooperated with her to investigate, as if he’s lost his mind.
Lao Er might fear the Security Bureau, but he doesn’t; all it takes is to kill that nosy woman.
In the future, the Huang Family will be under his control.
Ha...
Changed her name to Ji Hong?
Does she really think he doesn’t know who she is?
Huang Liu had a cold smile on his lips as he stood up and looked out at the stormy sea through the window.
In the ocean, it was up to him whether a few people died.

The superpower user leader received the alert, feeling that something was off.
Isn’t it someone he knows?
Why the need to drug them?
The superpower user second-in-command asked in a low voice, "Leader, are we being played? I saw that Master Huang Liu today, and I felt he was very hostile towards us."
The leader’s face turned stern as he glanced at him. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"We’ve already boarded the ship, so we must continue the act."
"No wonder she hasn’t boarded the ship. Truly hateful!" The second-in-command had already been wary of Ji Ning, and now he was even more infuriated.
But recalling Ji Ning’s ruthless methods, he couldn’t help but feel a pain in his chest.
"Leader, what about Ji Hong?"
The leader looked grim; after some thought, he said, "Be honest with her."
"What? Would they agree?" The second-in-command lowered his voice, pointing at the pinhole camera on his body.
"Hmph, we’re just assisting, not sending ourselves to die!"
The leader let out a cold snort, clearly angered by Ji Ning’s actions.
These words weren’t hidden from the surveillance, and Ji Ning along with the detectives could hear them.
But there was no response from the other side.
The leader became even angrier.
"Hey, what are you doing?"
Suddenly, Ji Hong’s voice came from the front.
The leader’s expression tightened, and he strode over, "Let’s talk inside."
Since boarding the ship, Ji Hong’s actions weren’t restricted, but there was always someone by her side.
Ji Hong’s lips curled up, her eyes flashed with understanding.
As they closed the door, the superpower user second-in-command grumpily said to Lao San and Lao Si inside, "The situation has changed, Huang Liu has betrayed us."
Lao San and Lao Si had already heard the detective’s warning through their earpieces, and upon seeing the leader and second-in-command in a bad mood, they knew they might have been played by the female detective.
Lao San, who had the most impulsive temperament, nearly pulled off the pinhole camera and surveillance device, but Lao Si held him down quickly.
Ji Hong silently scanned the expressions of the four, crossing her arms against the wall as she asked, "What situation has changed? Where’s your female leader? Why haven’t we seen her for so long?"
The leader’s face darkened slightly, "She hasn’t boarded the ship."
Ji Hong had already anticipated this, so she wasn’t surprised; that woman clearly wasn’t on the same side as these four.
Using them as pawns wasn’t impossible.
But such manipulation also implicated herself.
Thinking of this, Ji Hong’s eyes flashed with gloom.
"Didn’t board the ship? How are you playing me?" Ji Hong’s voice was cold, with a stern demeanor, not to be trifled with.
The leader didn’t reply to her and continued, "Huang Liu had suppressive drugs added to the drinking water. From now on, avoid all food and water, and await further instructions."
Ji Hong let out a cold laugh.
The leader looked at her and said, "Now we’re all in the same boat, and the people on this ship are all Huang Liu’s. You can only cooperate with us to complete the mission."
Ji Hong glanced at his surveillance system and pinhole camera, letting out a ridiculing snort.
She neither opposed nor agreed.
The leader assumed she agreed, proceeding to lay out the next plan, assigning tasks to everyone, including Ji Hong.
To ensure the mission’s completion, Ji Hong’s task seemed important but was actually insignificant; even if she became a variable, it wouldn’t affect the overall setup.
Ji Ning, who’s been monitoring them, finally showed a satisfied smile.
The detective next to her remarked, "Indeed, anyone who becomes a leader is not ordinary."
Another detective worried, "Captain, these four will definitely continue to assist us to legally reach the Outer Continent, but Ji Hong is a variable factor. I’m afraid she’ll betray them."
"Not likely at the moment," Ji Ning said calmly, looking at the girl on the screen.
She’s yet to figure out her own motives and won’t leave easily.
Huang Liu’s people summoned the five to the deck for a meal.
At this moment, the deck outside was illuminated by two large searchlights.
Groups of sailors sat on the ground, eating from their trays.
Each had a small bottle of white liquor beside them to ward off the cold.
In the distance, a few men with white aprons stood beside large iron barrels, serving food to the sailors.
At a glance, the deck was populated, with four to fifty people present.
This was probably just a portion of them.
They heard that meals were rotated among those on the ship.
The five felt heavy-hearted.
Even though they were superpower users, they couldn’t withstand an attack from forty to fifty people at once.
"Brother Biao has arrived."
"Yes, Brother Six said these five are his friends; serve extra meat to them."
"Alright." The sailor serving food was very respectful to the man who brought them over, his eyes full of flattery.
Since the five didn’t have their own trays, smaller meal boxes were prepared for them.
All the dishes were packed into one meal box, two meats, one vegetable, even a small bowl of egg soup.
Their faces unchanged, the five accepted the meal boxes and expressed their thanks.
The man called Brother Biao pointed at the ship’s cabin, smiling, "Let’s eat upstairs. It’s less crowded and quiet there."
The five looked at the top of the cabin, where searchlights were installed, too dazzling to see clearly what’s there.
The leader’s expression changed slightly, he glanced at the second-in-command.
The second-in-command immediately smiled, "Thank you, Brother Biao."
Though not as comfortable as on a cruise ship, the cargo ship’s cabin could accommodate about a hundred people.
It had four or five levels, with the top most being a lookout platform, not very spacious, surrounded by half-human-height railings.
Lights were wrapped around the railings, not too bright but enough to see the view on the platform.
Huang Liu sat on the lookout platform, with a table of separate dishes in front of him.
Whether from arrogance or overconfidence, he had few people beside him.
The leader sneered inwardly.
Huang Liu was cordial, standing to invite them over for a meal, while criticizing Brother Biao for bringing them there.
"Biao Zi, you handled this matter incorrectly. How could you let them eat from the below meals?"
Brother Biao quickly admitted his mistake, apologizing profusely to the superpower user leader and others.
If not forewarned of these people’s true nature, one wouldn’t notice the treacherous intention beneath his honest facade.
The table in front of Huang Liu was welded to the cabin’s top, as were the chairs, accommodating four people with two plastic chairs on the side.
The leader sat opposite him, followed closely by the second-in-command beside him, Lao San and Lao Si sat on the plastic chairs, with Ji Hong last beside Huang Liu.
Huang Liu’s casual posture seemed somewhat more disciplined.
Ji Hong noticeably sensed the man beside her exuded less aura.
She was a bit surprised, but it made sense.
After all, those plotting mischief often felt guilty.
