Resurrection Empire-Chapter 975 - 375: Morale Collapsing
Sixteen of Hu Yang's subordinates stood side by side outside the pass, looking back inside with solemn expressions.
Although the ten armored soldiers beside Hu Yang had evacuated in advance, three of them were unfortunately hit by falling boulders while fleeing.
Thick dust billowed out from between the narrow, steep mountains like a beast choosing its prey.
Everyone was silent, not daring to speak, nor daring to hope.
A thought kept surfacing in their minds, that Hu Yang wasn't going to make it out.
At this moment, the dust near the perilous peaks had dispersed slightly, revealing a mountain body more than half collapsed.
The perilous peak had turned into a flat-topped hill.
Who knew how many stones had fallen.
Inside must have been completely buried alive.
Time passed bit by bit, another five minutes had gone by in a blink.
Counting the time spent in combat and waiting, nearly twenty minutes had passed since others had evacuated.
It was time to go, time to regroup with the others.
But no one spoke up, they were still hoping for a miracle.
Suddenly, an armored soldier equipped with a metal detection module let out an exclamation, "Someone's coming out from inside! Very fast!"
Everyone quickly turned to look at him.
"Who is it?"
"I don't know, the haze is too thick, the detection signal is very unclear; I know someone is there, but I can't identify them."
As he spoke, a daring figure burst through the dust, charging straight towards them.
Though the incoming person's armor was severely damaged, heavily deformed, and covered with dirt and ash, everyone immediately recognized Hu Yang.
She was carrying another armored warrior in her hand.
Just as everyone was about to step forward to assist, Hu Yang's stern voice came through the communicator, "What are you still standing here for? Didn't I tell you to retreat? Go! Although the other side suffered heavy losses, they're not completely dead; regroup with the others. We have the next step to take!"
Having just reprimanded everyone, Hu Yang flew close, but her armor suddenly went out of control, and she plummeted to the ground.
In the process, she couldn't adjust her posture but instead flung the armored soldier she was carrying, "Catch him."
Before she could finish speaking, she slammed onto the ground, rolling several times before barely stabilizing herself.
The person she threw was caught accurately, and his injuries didn't worsen.
Hu Yang struggled to get up, "My loyal drones were all lost inside, and my armor is somewhat damaged; help me to the forest."
Just as she finished speaking, she slumped to the ground again.
She had some injuries but they weren't severe; the problem lay with her armor's energy module.
With her physique, she couldn't withstand the weight of the armor without power assistance.
In fact, on her way out, she was first crushed by a large stone on her back, and her equipment kept issuing energy module failure alarms, reminding her of the physical damage.
The alarm kept beeping constantly.
The sound was so loud that even the severely injured person she carried could hear it through the communicator, repeatedly asking her to put him down.
But she turned a deaf ear.
During the course, her equipment cut power multiple times for self-protection.
Hu Yang paid no heed, continuously adjusting emergency mode manually, forcefully squeezing out the last ounce of energy, and eventually burst out just in time.
Once others lifted her up, Hu Yang panted and said, "Head to the northern forest and regroup with the others."
A subordinate said, "Sister Hu, I think it's best not to go now. At least wait till we fix your equipment first."
The person's tone was somewhat tactful, but the meaning was clear.
He believed there were still untrustworthy people within the team, and with Hu Yang's current state, hastily regrouping with these people could be dangerous.
Unexpectedly, Hu Yang shook her head and said, "No, time is of the essence; we must seize this opportunity to further narrow the enemy gap, otherwise, we still can't achieve ultimate victory. My personal safety is trivial compared to the big picture. Besides, people can change. We must have faith in our comrades. Let's go."
Seeing her determination, the others couldn't persuade any further and chose to follow her lead.
Another ten minutes passed, and Hu Yang and the eighteen others regrouped with the main force on time.
As the cautious subordinate feared earlier, some indeed began to harbor thoughts seeing Hu Yang temporarily incapacitated.
But these individuals didn't act immediately.
Those loyal to Hu Yang were equally aware of the issue, having gathered in advance, forming a protective circle around her.
