Remarriage Failed Again Today-Chapter 61: The Difference Between an Angel and a Devil Is Probably Just Skin Deep
What was their relationship? And where was he now?
If Annabelle Linton truly liked him, then why did she marry me?
And now that she’s divorcing me, does it have something to do with this so-called Aaron?
Countless questions flooded his mind. Never before in his life had Leona Grant been so desperate to know everything about someone.
The more he thought, the more agitated he became. He called Chase and said coldly, "Investigate someone named Aaron for me. I want his home address, the city he lives in, and his relationship with Annabelle Linton. Also, verify the blood relationship between Annabelle Linton and William Chapman."
This woman was slipping further and further from his control.
He was starting to wonder if the Annabelle Linton of today was an imposter.
"Yes."
On the other end of the line, Chase was a bit surprised.
’Strange,’ he thought. ’Doesn’t the CEO despise his wife? Why is he so invested in her affairs all of a sudden?’
...
「On the rooftop.」
Flowers of all colors were in full bloom, vying for attention. A gentle breeze swept by, carrying their faint, sweet fragrance.
Patrick Grant was painting an ink wash landscape, while Annabelle Linton stood beside him, grinding the ink.
With powerful, vigorous strokes, he rendered a monochrome landscape in just a few movements.
Patrick Grant nodded in satisfaction. "Annabelle, your turn."
Annabelle Linton smiled and nodded, picked up a brush, dipped it in the ink, and began to paint with intense focus.
Watching Annabelle Linton’s skilled brushwork, Roxanne Jennings was taken aback. "Annabelle knows how to paint?"
Every stroke, every movement, even the way she dipped and held the brush—it was obvious she was well-practiced. Nowadays, most girls learned dance or piano; those who could paint were few and far between.
Roxanne Jennings found it hard to believe that her own daughter-in-law was capable of such a difficult style of painting.
Annabelle Linton offered a gentle smile and said humbly, "I learned a little from Grandpa before. It’s just the basics."
Patrick Grant laughed heartily. "You silly girl. You knew your grandpa liked ink wash paintings, so you deliberately learned how to do them just to keep this old man company, and you still won’t admit it..."
Annabelle Linton looked a little surprised. "Grandpa, you knew all along?"
The smile on Patrick Grant’s lips deepened. He chided her in a tone that was both scolding and doting, "Of course I knew. Oh, you..."
Roxanne Jennings watched her daughter-in-law with satisfaction. The more she looked at her, the more she liked what she saw.
"The tea is excellent, but the brewing technique is a bit lacking. What a shame..." Nathan Grant said, taking a sip and shaking his head in regret.
Roxanne Jennings said with a smile, "You should be grateful you have any to drink at all, and here you are being picky."
Nathan Grant was still lamenting, "These are top-grade tea leaves that Annabelle brought for me. It’s just that the staff here don’t have the skill for a proper tea ceremony."
Nathan Grant was a true tea connoisseur. Back in Albion, he had specifically hired a master with exquisite skills to brew his tea. The Grant Family’s staff weren’t professionals, so naturally, they couldn’t produce the flavor Nathan Grant desired.
"Oh, everyone’s here—"
A sweet female voice rang out from the rooftop stairwell. Annabelle Linton followed the sound and saw Vivian Yates, who had just been led up by a servant.
She was wearing a pink dress, a gentle smile on her face. Standing in the sunlight, she looked both lively and tender.
’The only difference between an angel and a demon is the skin they wear, I suppose.’
Annabelle Linton lowered her gaze, a cold glint flashing in her eyes. Ignoring Vivian, she walked over to Nathan Grant’s side. "Dad, I know a little about preparing tea. Allow me to brew some for you."
Nathan Grant nodded happily. "Excellent. I’ll get to taste Annabelle’s tea today."
"Our Annabelle can truly do anything," Roxanne Jennings praised.
A cultured smile touched the corners of Annabelle Linton’s lips as she gracefully picked up the tray.
As she passed by Vivian Yates, she acted as if she hadn’t seen her at all and went straight downstairs.
