Remarriage Failed Again Today-Chapter 102: She Won’t Stop Associating with These People for Leona Grant
"So what if you’re divorced? Am I supposed to cut ties with my sister-in-law just for you? She’s older than me—am I supposed to call her my little sister now?"
Leona Grant gritted her teeth. "Ashley Grant, you’re *my* sister!"
"Oh. Well, not as of today."
Leona Grant: "..."
Ashley hung up the phone, took a drag from her cigarette, and a text message came in with the address for Annabelle Linton’s apartment.
The sight of the towering building made her head spin. She massaged her temples, a headache already forming.
Suddenly, as her gaze swept across the street, she saw a familiar figure from her memories.
"Mister..." she murmured softly.
Ashley Grant whipped around, her eyes fixed on Ryan Linton’s figure.
After their last encounter, she had gone home and thought about it long and hard. She was absolutely certain she wasn’t mistaken.
Ashley dropped her cigarette and hurried after him.
But by the time she got there, the figure had already vanished around the corner.
Ashley searched for a long time but couldn’t find him.
And yet, she was both dejected and excited.
’I’ve been searching for five years, and now I’ve run into him twice in this city.’
’That means I’ll be able to see him again, right...?’
Ashley made a call, ordering her people to continue the search. Feeling a glimmer of hope, she smiled faintly, went upstairs, and found Annabelle Linton’s apartment.
Annabelle Linton, wearing a bathrobe, opened the door. She was surprised to see Ashley. "How did you find this place?"
Ashley strode right in, set down the food she was carrying, and threw herself onto the sofa with a flourish. "You’ve got some nerve, going solo. And you call yourself a friend? Getting a new place and not even telling your big sis."
With that, Ashley began to survey the apartment.
The apartment’s layout was simple, yet exquisitely decorated. It was a three-bedroom unit with a minimalist design.
The light from the crystal chandelier was soft and lovely. Magnificent wallpaper adorned the walls. The living room was done in a palette of creamy whites, with a matching English-style sofa and curtains. Throw pillows were tossed casually about on the gray carpet. An 82-inch high-definition display stood next to a set of speakers.
A few discs were scattered on the table. The curtains of the floor-to-ceiling window were drawn halfway, letting in a gentle breeze that made the space feel relaxed and comfortable.
’A very nice place.’ Even for Ashley, who was used to living in villas, this apartment didn’t feel the least bit shabby.
"I moved in this morning, and you showed up this afternoon. When was I supposed to get a chance to tell you?" Annabelle Linton said, getting her a drink from the fridge.
"Tch." Ashley opened the drink and took a sip. "I heard you hurt your hand, so I brought over some food. Aren’t I good to you?"
"Yes, you are. Just a step too late. I’ve already eaten," Annabelle Linton replied with a small smile.
"Tsk, I guess I shouldn’t have bothered." Ashley turned on the TV and hugged a throw pillow as she watched.
"Yep, you shouldn’t have. And since it’s getting late, I won’t keep you. Time to go home," Annabelle Linton said, teasing her.
"In your dreams. Tonight, you’re going to get all nice and clean to attend to me. This emperor has chosen you."
"Tch—"
Annabelle Linton got a glass of milk and sat beside her, watching TV with her.
She and Ashley had always been on great terms. Even though she and Leona Grant were divorced, she would still remain friends with Ashley.
It was the same with Grandpa. Even though she had divorced Leona Grant, she would still respect and care for him just as she always had.
In a nutshell, Leona Grant was Leona Grant, and her family was her family. She wouldn’t stop seeing them just because of Leona.
Leona Grant just wasn’t that important to her.
That night, Ashley and Annabelle slept in the same room.
...
