Chapter 340: Lightning Bolt

Hueng Long could feel the numbness spreading through his hand.

"Tch... Even after burning my blood essence and fighting with everything I have, facing two Martial Sovereigns at once is no joke."

He spat out a mouthful of blood and tightened his fists again. "I just hope I can hold them off long enough for the young master to finish refining the blood essence. For that... even if I have to burn every last drop of my blood essence and die here, I won’t have any regrets." Hueng Long gritted his teeth and lunged forward once more.

Bam! Bam!

Fists collided with flesh. Bones cracked under the immense force, yet neither side showed any sign of retreat.

Hueng Long threw a powerful punch. One of the guardians raised his forearm and blocked it head-on. The impact forced the guardian to skid several meters across the ground.

But Hueng Long didn’t even have time to pull his hand back.

Wham!

A vicious kick slammed into his back. The force sent him flying through the air before he crashed heavily onto the ground.

Not far away, Feng Dao was in no better condition. He was doing everything he could to stop them, but the distance between the enemies and Logan was shrinking with every passing second.

Soon, the calm environment descended into utter chaos.

On one side, Feng Dao desperately tried to hold back Min Chong and one of the Chong family guardians from reaching Logan.

On the other side, Hueng Long fought with everything he had to stall the remaining two guardians of the Chong family.

And across the rest of the battlefield, the spirit families and the evil spirit families clashed once again, their battle erupting into a storm of violence.

Chianxu was watching the battlefield with panic written all over her face. ’Damn it... When is he going to wake up?’ she cursed inwardly, her eyes darting anxiously toward Logan.

What she didn’t notice was that someone had quietly slipped past everyone’s attention. While the others were locked in fierce combat, that person deliberately avoided any fight, circling from a great distance to reach Logan’s position.

"Hmph! Min Chong... You think you can control our families?" the man muttered under his breath. "Dream on." Moving like a shadow, he closed the distance without attracting anyone’s notice.

It was none other than Yuhe Feng, the head of the Feng Family.

Soon, he arrived near Logan.

Ten meters. Only ten meters separated them now.

But the moment Yuhe Feng’s gaze fell on the white-haired man standing beside Logan, his steps halted abruptly. "Who is that person?" he wondered silently. "I can’t sense his cultivation realm... but he’s strong. Extremely strong."

A trace of hesitation flickered across Yuhe Feng’s eyes as he studied Zola carefully.

’What should I do now?’ For the first time since the clash started between the two sides, Yuhe Feng fell into deep thought.

But after a brief moment of hesitation, he made his decision. With a flick of his wrist, he brought out a talisman. "Don’t blame me," he whispered coldly. "You’re standing in my way."

The next moment...

He moved. Throwing caution aside, no longer caring whether anyone noticed him or not, Yuhe burst forward with all his speed.

His target was Zola.

Unbeknownst to him, Zola had already noticed him long ago. Yet even now, watching Yuhe rush straight toward him, he made no move to react.

Meanwhile, Chianxu was so consumed by worry that she realized what was happening far too late.

By the time she noticed... Yuhe had already arrived. Moving like a bolt of lightning, Yuhe slammed the talisman directly onto Zola’s back.

"Watch out!" Chianxu shouted the instant she realized what was happening. But it was already too late. Or at least, that was what she thought.

The talisman struck Zola’s back. Yuhe’s lips curled into a wicked chuckle... Only to freeze in the very next moment. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

Zola hadn’t moved at all. At first, Yuhe thought it was because the talisman had successfully suppressed him. But the realization soon dawned on him.

Zola hadn’t stayed still because of the talisman. He simply didn’t feel the need to move. Which meant only one thing. Yuhe’s cultivation... and all of his tricks... meant absolutely nothing to him.

’I’m doomed.’ Yuhe’s mind raced frantically, searching for any possible solution.

And then...

His eyes fell on Chianxu.

Chianxu was already in the midst of great mental turmoil. But when she noticed Yuhe staring at her like that, the last shred of her composure shattered.

She staggered back instinctively, her body trembling as she prepared to turn and flee.

’That person helped Logan refine the blood essence,’ she thought frantically. ’He may say he won’t interfere, but he’s clearly his benefactor. There’s no way he’ll just stand by if Logan’s life is truly in danger.’

Her heart pounded wildly. ’But me... if I stay here any longer, I’ll definitely die.’ Driven by that thought, she turned to run.

But she had barely taken a few steps....

A powerful hand suddenly seized her by the neck.

Before she could even react, Yuhe Feng lifted her off the ground, pulling her into his grasp. In the same motion, he wrapped an arm around her and pressed a cold dagger against her throat.

"Move," Yuhe said coldly, looking toward Zola. "Leave this place... or she dies."

Not far away, Min Chong, who was locked in a fierce battle with Feng Dao, noticed the scene.

His eyes narrowed sharply. "Damn that old bastard," he cursed under his breath, his attacks suddenly growing fiercer as he forced Feng Dao back. "I need to stop him," Min Chong muttered grimly. "No one else is taking that boy but me."

"I’ll stop him. Go!" the guardian fighting alongside Min Chong said.

But Min Chong didn’t need anyone’s permission. He had already decided his next course of action. Without hesitation, he broke away from the fight and rushed straight toward Logan.

Feng Dao tried to pursue but was stopped by the guardian.

At the same time, Yuhe tightened his grip on Chianxu and carefully moved closer to Logan as well, the dagger still pressed against her throat.

Both Yuhe and Min were closing in on their target. What neither of them noticed was the change taking place in the sky above.

The dark clouds that had gathered earlier were beginning to shift. Their color slowly brightened, glowing faintly as if something immense was stirring within them.

Then...

A deafening roar split the heavens. The sky thundered violently as a massive bolt of lightning tore through the clouds and descended from above, shooting straight toward Logan.
