REINCARNATION OF THE STRONGEST WAR HERO-Chapter 339: Desperate Stand
Min Chong tried to turn back, but the powerful grip suddenly seized him and dragged him back. "You want to stop the Young Master from claiming the inheritance?" the voice from earlier sneered. "Dream on."
Min Chong still tilted his head, straining to see who it was. And when he saw, he cursed inwardly. The one who had intercepted him was none other than Feng Dao.
Without wasting a moment, Feng Dao raised his arm and drove a punch straight into Min Chong's face with all his strength.
Thud!
Min Chong was hurled backward, his body tumbling across the ground.
Meanwhile, the blinding light from the earlier explosion slowly began to fade, having served its purpose. Feng Dao had not only dodged the attacks of the two Chong family guardians but had also successfully stopped Min Chong from disrupting Logan.
Just then, Feng Dao noticed the white-haired man standing calmly beside Logan. His eyes narrowed at first… then widened abruptly, as if he had seen a ghost.
He staggered back slightly. "W-Who… who are you?" Feng Dao asked.
Zola glanced at him indifferently. "Who I am doesn't matter," he said casually. "He is almost done with whatever it is you're hoping for. But he is currently in a crucial state. Stop them from disturbing him."
Feng Dao immediately straightened. "Yes… of course."
Although he had no idea who the man before him was, he understood one thing clearly — this was not someone to be trifled with. He couldn't even sense the man's cultivation. The aura surrounding him was entirely different from anything Feng Dao had ever felt before. It was… otherworldly.
Without another word, Feng Dao turned and rushed forward, preparing to intercept anyone who dared approach Logan.
At that moment, more figures began arriving.
These were the spirit family members. Earlier, the fierce battle between them and the evil spirit families had abruptly halted when the strange dark clouds gathered in the sky. None of them understood what was happening until Min Chong — the Chong Family's patriarch — suddenly ordered his people to rush toward the place where the clouds had formed.
The spirit families had intended to do the same. But all their opponents had immediately launched attacks to stop them.
Only now had they finally managed to arrive.
Soon, another figure appeared, breathing heavily.
It was Lin Dao.
She had rushed to the Chong Family estate earlier to search for Logan, but after scouring the entire manor from top to bottom, she found nothing.
Panic had begun creeping into her heart.
Just as she was about to lose hope, she noticed the sudden commotion outside the estate. A large number of people were rushing toward the northwest.
Certain Logan must be there, she immediately followed.
Now everyone had arrived. The spirit families. The evil spirit families.
Both sides gathered once again.
A young man from the evil spirit families stepped forward, his expression arrogant. Judging by his aura, he was a Martial Saint. "So that's the one?" he scoffed. His gaze landed on Logan. "I thought he would be something special. But he's just a kid."
For some unknown reason, none of them could sense Logan's aura anymore. They couldn't see through his cultivation at all.
Min Chong slowly stood up from the ground, wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth. The earlier punch had sent him rolling across the battlefield.
"Tch." His gaze turned cold as he looked at Feng Dao. "You really have a death wish, Feng Dao," he sneered. "Just because you're burning through your blood essence, you think you can mess with me?"
He then glanced toward the three guardians of the Chong Family. Their eyes met. Min Chong gave a silent nod. The three guardians nodded back.
The next instant...
All four of them shot toward Logan.
Suddenly, two of the guardians halted mid-stride and turned around, facing the rest.
Only one guardian continued advancing beside Min Chong.
"We can't delay any longer," Min Chong said grimly as he quickened his pace. "We have to make it count."
The guardian said nothing. But the sharp glint in his eyes showed that he understood perfectly.
Both of them accelerated toward Logan like streaks of lightning.
But Feng Dao stood firmly in the middle like an immovable mountain they had to cross to reach Logan.
The distance between them shrank rapidly.
Seeing them rushing forward, Feng Dao clenched his fists and sprang into action.
The other Spirit Family members moved as well, but they were immediately intercepted. A few managed to break through the initial obstruction and attempted to rush forward to assist Feng Dao.
But the two guardians were already waiting.
They held their ground like eagles circling the sky, eyes locked onto their prey.
The moment those cultivators tried to advance, an overwhelming pressure crashed down upon them.
Boom!
A Martial emperor from the spirit families was slammed to the ground before he could take even three steps forward.
"None of you is going anywhere," one of the guardians said coldly.
At that moment, Hueng Long stepped forward. He looked haggard, his breathing uneven. His injuries had healed but the exhaustion from the earlier battle still weighted heavily on him. "Looks like I have no other choice either," he muttered.
He slowly closed his eyes. The next moment, the aura surrounding him churned violently.
"He's burning his blood essence too," one of the guardians remarked.
"Of course he is," the other replied calmly. "They're desperate to protect that brat."
His gaze drifted toward Logan in the distance. "And why wouldn't they be? Only by ascending to the Upper Realm can we elevate our cultivation further… and one day reach immortality." His eyes narrowed.
"And that boy is the only way we can ascend."
Neither guardian spoke further. Both of them quietly assumed their stances.
Hueng Long opened his eyes again. This time, the aura surrounding him had grown several times stronger.
His strength had skyrocketed.
Crack! 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
The ground beneath his feet shattered as he shot forward like a cannon.
The two guardians moved at the same time.
Bam!
A violent shockwave erupted as their attacks collided head-on. Dust and debris exploded outward from the impact.
The two guardians were forced to take a few steps back. Hueng Long, however, skidded backward more than ten meters before finally stabilizing himself.
The difference between them was obvious.
He was alone. Although burning his blood essence had greatly boosted his power, his opponents were no ordinary cultivators.
Both of them were Martial Sovereigns.
